Ugh, my niece wore these when she was teeny tiny. She was so adorable but I thought the GIANT flower detracted from her tiny cuteness.

  • My UO today-I don't understand the hoopla surrounding Halloween. Candy is awesome, but I really think it's a day for kids. Oh and I'm totally with PP on baby headbands.

  • My UO's, I was so fed up of puking and hurting everytime I move that I cried at like 3 am to my bf about how sick of being pregnant I am. Then I felt guilty bc my aunt would love to be in my position but can't be.

Then UO#2 is when people get b*th bc I refuse Zofran.
It is not allowed in my house, ever. I'm annoyed with people saying "well it was ok for us so it's okay for you too" cool it worked for you I'm glad you had something that helped and you still had a healthy baby, really i am, but I almost lost my 1st daughter after her second bday bc that crap so stop calling me "sensitive" about it.

It's a mean one, sorry. If you feel gross / fat / unsexy / unattractive get over it or do something about it and eat something healthy / exercise / put makeup on. I'm tired of hearing the complaining. I get it, we're big, but we're GROWING HUMANS! Skeletons! Elbows! Brains! Blood vessels! Fingernails! People, it's awesome. Just deal with the extra weight.
Yep. My UO is that although I was feeling pretty defeated a few weeks ago, Here I am at almost 37 weeks and I am actually feeling wonderful.  Sure shit hurts, but I am so effing stoked about giving birth, holding my son and I am really enjoying these last few weeks.  Every time he moves, I smile thinking about being able to hold him, what will he look like, etc. I am riding an emotional high for sure and it's diminishing the physical pain that I have.  I don't even care about the pain, I'm going to be a mom!!!!

    Ditto to @thefithuntress and @modanz1

We are doing something awesome and it's not permanent. Enjoy the experience and all the wonders (and suck) that go along with it rather than whine about it. I don't think pregnancy is an excuse to gripe.

And I am also feeling really good. The comments from people expecting me to act and feel miserable are so frustrating. Nope my friends, I'm doing really well, thank you for making me feel like every pregnant woman is supposed to be BSC and mean.

I'm not sure this is an unpopular opinion, but DH and I are scratching our heads about something my in-laws did.  They graciously offered to buy the baby's crib, and told us last week it had been ordered.  It arrived, but without the mattress.  We figured it would just ship from another location, and arrive in a couple days.  But, it didn't, and it's still on our registry.

DH briefly mentioned how all we needed now was the mattress and the crib would be set, and his mom said 'great!'.  So, obviously they weren't planning on buying the mattress- which we can and will buy ourselves.  I just don't understand why they would offer to buy the crib, but not the other most essential part of it...?

ETA-  After a rough month or so, I'm also surprisingly enjoying being pregnant again (34+4).  My ankles are less swollen (thanks old-man-from-Florida-looking compression socks!), I'm only getting up once a night to pee, and I've finally been able to fall back asleep after getting up to complete said peeing.  My pelvis feels like it can and will split in half every time I get up, but hey the baby moved and I can breathe again/ have less heartburn!  I'm just trying to keep it positive, we're finally in the home stretch now ladies!

Playing devil's advocate here, but I think a crib is different from a bed.  When I think of an adult bed, I think of the frame and mattress.  When I think of a crib, I think of just the actual crib (not the mattress and bedding).  My folks bought us the crib for DS (they are amazeballs), but we figured the mattress would be separate and bought it ourselves without even asking.  They too ended up just ordering the crib itself, but I wasn't surprised.  I would have been surprised if a mattress showed up!
Yeah, that was pretty much the conclusion we came to as well.  My in-laws are also amazeballs, and we have no qualms about buying it ourselves.  I think I just envisioned a crib as being the whole shebang, rather than two separate purchases.

  • My UO for this week is that I don't really get why everyone here seems to think mucous plugs are an absolute no go topic. Pregnancy is gross, let's be honest. And people discuss discharge, bleeding, bowel movements, gas, etc without it being an issue, but mucous plug is apparently where we draw the line? Now I'm not saying lets all take pictures and share, just like I wouldn't want a picture of someone's constipated poop or whatever. I just don't get it. It's honestly just casual conversation among my pregnant/new mom friends.

I think I can explain this one.  My understanding is someone on a previous month's board did share pictures and so it became an Ewww!  Gross! thing to point to as a good example of TMI.
If there's something strange underneath the hood.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  If there's something weird and it don't look good.  Who you gonna call?  Your Doctor.  Immediately.  If it's new, painful, and possibly pregnancy related get your ass off the internet and call your doctor.  It's for your health and your child's.

I think we are soul sisters. My MIL did the same thing, bought the crib then said if no one else bought the mattress, she would get it. I was slightly puzzled, but she's a special snowflake so I wasn't really surprised. In the end, she bought the mattress because everyone assumed she had gotten it.
Also, my pelvis has never hurt like this in my life. It's honestly so bad, I've been icing my crotch for two days and been trapped on the first floor of my house as its too painful to walk upstairs. No bueno!

Some thoughts on what has been mentioned:

-Can't stand puffy bows on little girls. And I am not a fan of animal prints/tutus.

    - I can't stand when people say they "know this baby will be here early". Um, how?? Maybe Sandra Brown told them. Or Long Island Medium.

-I've never heard of buying the mattress with the crib. Mine were given to me as separate gifts from different people. Like a PP said, I would have been surprised if the person who bought my crib also bought the mattress. (Those are expensive!).

-I also hate candy corn and candy pumpkins :-&

-the MP talk has a stigma on it because people have posted pics in the past. They were not pretty!!

    MY UO:
I hate condiments. All of them. I don't eat pancake syrup, ketchup, mustard, etc.. The only one I can tolerate is balsamic vinegrette on my salad.

My in-laws bought us the crib as well. My mom wanted to buy it but MIL asked first. They did not buy the mattress or anything to go with it. This was fine with us. My mother, on the other hand, couldn't get over that they didn't buy everything for the crib (mattress, sheets, mattress cover, etc). We were grateful for the gift we received but I guess its not uncommon for some people to consider it only a partial gift.

  • My UO is the pumpkin-flavored-everything season. I don't like pumpkin. why must everything taste like it this month? Gross.

This pumpkin is so disgusting ewww

Sorry not sorry. I may be HUGE, but I look awesome. My butt is perky, my skin is clear and for once I don't need concealer and my hair is so fluffy! Forget the fact that I'm only sleeping 3 hours every night and I can't move without wincing.
My hair was my favorite part of my pregnancy. So much awesome. Afterwards though...damn hormone change, I lost all the beautiful fluff.

I lurk. I snark. I offer sound advice if you're not BSC. You may not like me. I'm okay with it.

Blame should be placed on whoever decided they need to be sold separately. Why exactly would one want a crib but pass on the mattress? My UO is the pumpkin-flavored-everything season. I don't like pumpkin. why must everything taste like it this month? Gross.
In fairness... couldn't you foresee wanting to purchase a new mattress without having to buy a new headboard/footboard/bedframe (or vice versa). DH and I want to buy a headboard/footboard, but it would suck to be forced into buying a new mattress with it.  Literally every other bedding works this way.  We bought DS a toddler bed and guess what it didn't come with.... a mattress.  Didn't expect it to either.
This, and also the fact that everyone has different preferences in mattresses. What may be the ideal mattress for me to get a good nights sleep may leave you tossing and turning all night. Granted, I feel like it's less of an issue in the crib mattress market, but still
I was amazed by the option in crib mattresses when we purchased one for DS.  They really do have a lot of options.  Baby center even has a guide!

    Edited for QBF!

Also, in fairness to my in-laws, the original plan was that they were going to buy the crib with my parents and split the cost.

After considering it for a while, I think the assumption about buying the mattress came from the fact that it sounded like it would be included with the crib purchase originally. It didn't occur to me that it would be otherwise after it was only the in-laws purchasing the crib. Thanks for all the feedback!
