I agree that it seems trendy and hipster. It reminds me of Bode Miller, who is a very bro'd out dude, and I prefer his spelling. With Bodhi I perceive it as the parents trying to mix a trendy bro name with some sort of yoga/east indian boho chic spiritual name. If you are Indian then I say go for it because it's authentic that way, otherwise I would skip it. It's not an awful sounding name that's just the vibe I get from it. I have to admit it makes me give a little eye roll. The only people I know that have used it live in L.A. and fit the persona so maybe that adds to it for me.
Bodhi is a not too unusual Indian name, used mostly among Buddhists and Hindus. Recently classmates of mine (Indian American married to European American) named their preemie son this, it means awakening and I thought it was appropriate, just felt really right for them. So if either parent is Indian or Hindu/ Buddhist I wouldn't side eye it. I have never actually met a non-Indian named Bodhi, so I am not sure what I would think, but I am not too disconcerted about borrowing names from other cultures.

Agree!! Minus the people in LA, I don't know them.
I love it. I'm not sure I'd use it personally because there are many I like better, but every time I see it, but only with this spelling, I think how much I love it.
Re: What do you think of the name

I don't think it's a name that will age well, either. Very trendy with little staying power.
