The closest birth center is 2 hours away. I am not excited about delivering at my hospital.. They don't offer VBAC's and they currently don't have a neonatologist. Very unsure of what to do!
There is no real birth center here, but i am seeing an office of midwives who USED to own a birth center and now just work with a hospital. But supposedly it will be like a birth center type feel in a hospital, but still a hospital. As much as i want a home birth, i am not ready to take that risk, Maybe on baby #2!
I would love to deliver at a birth center, but I'm not sure if they allow VBAC. I'll probably end up at a hospital, but I will definitely be exploring my options and possibly switching to a midwife at some point.
DD was delivered via emergency c section, so there's a chance this will be a RCS - so we're just doing the hospital again. We had a fairly positive experience last time. (I honestly don't even know if there's birthing centres near me.)
I've been considering a midwife - I have a few friends who loved having midwives, but it's early so nothing is set in stone yet.
We have the BEST birth center in my town! We are so blessed. They parter with the hospital downtown for any emergency, but they have basic newborn care, just no NICU. If there were complications, or if I were high risk, I would use the hospital. But I plan to be a RCS and love my Birth Center.
Birth center, if I get the option! Did a hospital birth with my first, and while it wasn't awful, I want something a little more ... supportive? this time. I interviewed midwives before my first loss, and have already been emailing with the one I want to go with once the RE releases me into regular care.

My 2nd was supposed to be a homebirth. I don't really want to get into what happened, feel free to peruse my old posts in May '14 (though I'm not sure I posted there or not). I'm hoping this time we manage it. Otherwise I have no idea what I'll do.
There is a birth center nearby which wasn't an option at our old place. It's an option and I had a long conversation with my doula tonight after work after damn near having a panic attack just making a phone call to the only CNM that does homebirth in our area. I need to look into the birth center again. The last I looked at it we were just our of their radius which would mean we would need to stay at a hotel near them for 1 night so they can do their day 1 PP visit at "home". I'm hoping there can be an agreement we come to... But honestly if I risk out of a homebirth then I risk out of a birth center usually but we'll see
I wanted to have either a home birth or at a birth center but DH wasn't comfortable with that so we comprised that I would see a midwife at a hospital. I will be a VBAC.

I'll be at the hospital. I had a very fast (less than 2 hours) birth with my daughter and just feel more comfortable there. I also had her a little early so if I'm on the earlier side again I'd feel safer.
A hospital but it has an AMAZING birthing/maternity center in it. My sister delivered all 3 of hers there and she said it was as soothing as she had hoped
At the end of the day, I don't give a crap about "the birth experience". I just want top notch medical professionals (both OB and pediatrics) available immediately in case of any problems. Hospital all the way, and one with a neonatologist in house 24/7.

I'll be delivering at the hospital I work at too. I worked in OB for a short time lol. My health insurance is much better if I stay at my hospital, I basically have no bills.
Hospital all the way. Thankfully we are less than two miles away from a hospital with a great NICU (though hopefully the NICU services won't be needed). Plus the rooms are undergoing a complete makeover that is supposed to be ready Spring 2016! Good timing for us!
We're going to be doing a hospital birth again. Ours is a baby friendly hospital, and DS's birth and postpartum care was amazing- I wouldn't change a thing about it.
Scheduled c section. Best thing ever. I was up shopping 50 hours after my last one. I hope it goes just as easy this time

We are planning for a hospital delivery with my midwife. Also planning on staying comfy at home for as long as possible (I'm from a tiny town a live 2 mins from the hospital).
I had a wonderful hospital birth with DD with a midwife. This time because of insurance change I'll have an OB, but I have no qualms with the hospital, I wouldn't change a thing about my last delivery
I'm pretty sure I'd prefer the hospital but am hoping they'll maybe let me use a birthing bar or ball or anything that will help open up my tiny pelvis.
