I'm 18 weeks and they haven't appeared yet, but it's certainly something I've been thinking about more and more. I plan on buying a lotion/cream soon to start using regularly in an effort to be proactive about it.
Started at puberty too. But with regards to pregnancy, I started getting them at 12 weeks. As soon as my uterus popped over my pubic bone. But I am very prone to them and any change in my body at all gives me stretch marks, everywhere except my face, hands and feet have them.
And not sure what you mean by anatomy scan nightmares. You get about an hour long scan looking at every part of the baby. They take detailed pictures and measurements. It then gets read by a doctor. It the baby is in the right position you can find out the sex.
I'm 18 weeks into my second pregnancy and have never had any. From what I understand they're genetic and you're either prone to them or not. Lotions, creams, and drinking enough water are good for your skin in general though so I slather on a coconut and vitamin E oil blend I made. It feels great after the shower and makes my skin look good.
I first got stretch marks when I gained my freshman 15 in college, but they faded away to nothing. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before I get them again, since I appear to be prone to them. You may get them, you may not. Just the luck of the draw.
Yes. I only have stretch marks by my butt which I got in high school. My mom never had stretch marks so I'm hopping that sticks. My weight has fluctuated many times from being big to small. And agin no stretch marks. Thank you ladies. And as for anatomy nightmares. On bump iv read numberous threads about people behind afraid of these scans. I have my July 6th.

Most of the women who've spoken about it had specific fears of abnormalities based on genetic testing or previous miscarriages. Most of these women had very little to fear. If you've had neither of those circumstances there's even less to worry about. Try to breathe easy.
Alright I had to bring this thread back... Got to 33 weeks and I saw some faint ones on my stomach the other day. Been using cocoa butter every day since 12 weeks and thought I had made it. Apparently not!! But I did just go splurge on the mederma stretch marks therapy to see if it helps. (I have stretch marks already on my breasts and love handles from large breasts anyways and some previous weight gain and loss but was hoping I could get through my pregnancy without any more!!!) any one use the mederma therapy with success??
My ass has been covered in stretch marks for several weeks, & they are starting to creep up my hips now. Apparently my body didn't get the memo that my belly is supposed to grow, not my butt! )

I had butt stretch marks show up a month or so ago! My husband also noticed my booty looks bigger. I credit it to the natural widening of our hips. Honestly, I'll take it! I'm still doing my squats.
I have had stretch marks since probably week 15 or so and only on my butt... And I'm not talking little ones either.. My whole ass is covered in these deep purple stretch marks.. It's so not cute... Everywhere else is completely fine with nothing.. My husband thinks it's hilarious
I've had stretch marks probably since week 28, but they're mostly concentrated on the lower part of my bump they're also kinda purpleish so i'm certainly going to look into creams to help minimize their appearance postpartum. the stretch marks on my boobs are horrible too--- i suppose that's what happens when you go from a smaller cup size to a much larger one, very rapidly.
I have them on my love handles, upper thigh, and upper inner side of my legs. I can't remember when they started showing up though. I've been using stretch mark cream, so ohh well! They will fade over time, and even so it's nothing to be ashamed of!
Edited because I can't handle finishing words today apparently
I have them everywhere and I embrace them. My husband doesn't mind them, so why should I? It's taken me 24 years to learn how to love myself and I'll be damned if I let a little thing like stretch marks bring me back down a path of self-hatred.
I've had a couple small ones on my left hip since around 25 weeks. Just noticed a little guy on my right hip. They don't bother me. I was terrified off getting them and I thought I'd absolutely hate them, but I really don't mind. I see them as an excuse to get a cover tattoo. Although, I've heard it hurts like a b to get tattooed over stretch marks.

I'm 34 weeks and so far no stretch marks related to pregnancy - and I have stretch mark prone skin. I had a lot of old ones on my hips and bum from my twenties. Ladies, rubbing cream on your skin is only part of the picture. You need to make sure you are getting enough key nutrients to ensure your skin matrix holds up to the massive amount if stretching! Skin comes from the inside. I so wish I knew about this a lot earlier in life!!!! This means zinc, vitamin c, good sources of protein, vitamin e, essential fatty acids, water. Zinc deficiency is a key contributor to stretch marks. I have been religious with taking certain supplements during pregnancy and so far it has worked. I have also been using Jojoba oil on my tummy pretty much every day. Embrace your nutrition ladies! ☺️
I think that I got them at like 32 weeks or so... I have them on my love handles and on the inside of my thighs. I thought I'd be really upset when they popped up, but I love this baby way too much to care about something as little as some marks on my skin!
My belly looks like a tiger attacked me, and have a bunch on my inter thighs and starting to get a few on my hips at 34 weeks. I had existing stretch mark scars from puberty and weight gain, and started getting the lower belly marks at about 12 weeks. They just keep getting worse, no matter how much belly butter I use, I must have gotten the crappy genes.
The ones on the underside of my belly have been kind of tender and a bit sore the past week or so, anyone else having that issue? Going to ask my midwife at my appointment on Friday. I can't see under there, so I have no idea what it looks like (tried to use my phone camera, but it was dark). Could beimy skin is just stretched to the limit
Nothing anywhere but my boobs. I don't mind on my boobs so much but am kind of hoping they don't make an appearance anywhere else. We'll see though, I'm only 32+2 weeks. If so, awell.
33 and 4 with no stretch marks yet. I've been using the palmers stretch mark lotion everyday after the shower since I found out I was pregnant. Keeping my fingers crossed I don't have any show up the next 6 weeks!
I got aome growing up on my thigh, but havent had one pregnant. 33weeks this week. No cream or anything, my mom did not have any either. I believe its genetic... And also food.
I'm 33w3d and no stretch marks yet. My Doctor actually made a comment last time about me not having any. I'm aware there is still plenty of time though. But I'm crossing my fingers that they won't show up.
None here yet but with DS they didn't show up until about 37 weeks. I use bio oil twice daily (as I did during my last pregnancy) but I know they'll appear in the next few weeks.
36 weeks and none here yet. I didn't get any with my first so I'm hoping to avoid them this time around also.
If there's something strange underneath the hood. Who you gonna call? Your Doctor. If there's something weird and it don't look good. Who you gonna call? Your Doctor. Immediately. If it's new, painful, and possibly pregnancy related get your ass off the internet and call your doctor. It's for your health and your child's.
36 weeks here and don't have any. I thought I was getting them on my boobs but the more I looked they were just dark veins. I'd rather them on my boobs than belly though. My grandma didn't have any but my mom was covered. I reallyyyyy hope I can finish out these last few weeks without getting them, but that's usually not my luck. We shall see.

At first I had a very hard time embrassing my stretch marks... It took a lot of telling myself that some people get them and some don't.. And that there is nothing wrong with having stretch marks!! I have had them since puberty Though and I think having them pop up at such a hard time in my life when my body was changing made a difference in how I looked at it.. But now they don't bother me at all
36.3 ad think I might have two forming on my belly, or maybe their veins. I can't tell! Either way I just noticed them and it's really bugging me! I know it's very vain, but I was hoping to not get any...

That's where mine popped up!!! Hoping they will fade with the mederma

Mederma worked WONDERS on the ones I had on my sides from puberty (I'm a FTM, and have gotten a whole bunch of new ones). It doesn't work for everyone, just like anything else. But definitely try it!
I guess mine has been appearing slowly but tonight was the first time that I found out I have stretch marks thanks to my husband for pointing them out. I didn't know I had them because they're on the underside of my belly. Now if I look in the mirror carefully, I can see them. Must have appear over the past week. I'm 34 1/2 weeks.
