Ok ladies, I figured it would be fun to include some of the daily threads we've seen on other boards. So in honor of Thursday, let's hear those Unpopular Opinions
Yaaaaaaaasss!!! Ok ok ok I got one! I've said it in the past but I'll say it again cause it was on TV last night. I HATE Teen Mom!!!! I don't want to see your baby daddy drama where you say "You're a scumbag and I don't want you in her life, I'm taking full custody. Oh by the way can you pay for everything till she's 18 thanks!" Ugh
My UO today - When I pay in cash and the cashier gives me my change by putting the bills in my hand first, and then trying to put all the coins on top of them. No. Every time you do that the coins slip of and fall all over the counter, so then I'm fumbling around trying to pick them up. Just give me the coins first, and then hand me the cash. So much easier.
I hate nursing covers. They made me sweat all over my DS and I felt like he couldn't breathe under it. I was really scared nursing without it in public for the first time, then I realized nobody gave a rat's toot. I am never using a nursing cover again!
I really don't have a desire to breastfeed. I know that if I am able I will give it a shot but meh. I think I have just heard so many horror stories from friends and family members about how terrible their experience was.
I absolutely could not nurse in public last time. I would rather hide in my car than do it in public. Maybe I'll feel different this time?!
That sounds awful! I strongly recommend that you read this blog: https://www.thebadassbreastfeeder.com/ She instructs women how to NIP (nurse in public) without fear.

Same here. I ended up pumping with both DD's and will probably do the same this time. I have never understood the love of breastfeeding, but don't think there is anything wrong with whatever choice anyone makes!
Meh...I'm in the middle of prolife/choice debate. I feel like there are circumstances where it is warranted. However, all of the "oops" pregnancies, well you had sex & that's what happens!

I don't think it's fair to be forced to have a child unwanted because of a mistake. It's not fair to the parents, and it's especially not fair to the child.
people smoke and get lung cancer - the medical system helps them. People drink and get liver disease - the medical system helps them. People have unprotected sex - the medical system helps them.

I just think they are way too many people who want to adopt (and I'm bitter about this at the moment due to a friends circumstance so may not be entirely just) and just killing unwanted children because you decided to have unprotected sex? Um, no. It's called being an adult and dealing with the he cards you are dealt. Just like lung cancer. Chemo doesn't always work. You smoke, you are risking your life. You have unprotected sex, you take another life?! No no no.
I do feel in some cases it is necessary to end pregnancy. For health of mother or child mainly.
Your post did make me think about it a bit more. But I still disagree at the end of the day.
@KOR121, and that is fine. I enjoy these conversations where we can disagree and carry on. It doesn't change who we are, it's merely an opinion.
My heart goes out to your friend and her circumstances. And my heart goes out to people who never got their potential.
But my heart also goes out to those in foster homes who don't get adopted, who grow up in unhealthy environments and can't even have their necessities looked after because their parents weren't ready, and the system is already overloaded.
@cattuccino - Likewise - I enjoy these too. My DH's family is ALL for debate, and I'm usually just sitting there in silence. Mainly because it is impossible to get a word in. Impossible.
But agreed on foster care system. Older kids are listed like animals on websites (ones in my state are anyway). Their bio's break my heart. I was crying at my desk a few weeks ago because I just wanted to give them all a home. DH say we can look at it down the road.
I hate family car stickers. This is on the tame side for opinions I know. Besides them being tacky, they can be unsafe. Add the family stickers with the "my child's an honor student at X school" and does dance. You've just given crazies a lot of info about your family.
Also I'm pro choice, by definition, because people should get to choose. However I still believe that it's taking a life, and that abortion in most circumstances is wrong in my opinion. We need to teach better sex education to, well everyone, not just teenagers. Better sex education will lead to fewer unplanned pregnancies, and by extension fewer abortions.

I kind of think those Star Wars ones are cute... But I would never do it...
I'm pro-choice. And 100% agree that sex ed curriculum needs to be better to help prevent unwanted pregnancies. Irony is that my province is updating the subject and now some parents are protesting by keeping their kids out of school bc they feel the curriculum is overkill. Hello!? There's no way that what the will be learning about in class they haven't heard before. Take the taboo off. Make it ok to talk about. Knowledge is power. Sorry-side bar there. Not sure if this fits the UO thread but i guess my uo could be that kids need to be given more credit and sex ed needs to be better and more informative. Even at a young age (with age appropriate content).
I'm with @nicknshannon - I don't really advertise my personal/political/religious beliefs... mostly because they are mine, very well thought out after painstaking internal debate and internal dialogue and its really hard to explain to someone else how I came to them given that they are largely based on who I am and the things that have shaped me throughout life. I also hate arguing and debating in my personal life. I think because I'm an attorney and have to argue/debate for a profession that I just get tired of it.
My UO (or popular one...depending on your bad habits too) - I miss wine. I wouldn't trade this baby for anything but, man, do I miss wine. I may or may not have told H already to have a bottle in the delivery room 8 months from now.
you are totally right @GinnyJ2012 !! I don't necessarily hate the look of them but yeah you're handing out a lot of info to anyone walking by your vehicle..also if you show your profession with them I.e. doctor...to me it just screams "break into m car because I have money"
I can't post new threads due to a glitch on The Bump apparently but I saw this and wanted to share it with you gals...basically it is a cheese recal at Whole Foods due to listeria LINK

Whole foods...yeah I don't have to worry about that

I shop almost exclusively at Aldi, and...I am not afraid of GMOs. There. I said it.
Right there with ya....on both points I don't know what I did before I discovered Aldi. I have cut our grocery bill literally in half! I am obsessed. Oh, and I always leave my quarter in the cart for the next person before I leave. A small gesture, but I feel like it's good karma lol
I wish my Aldi was closer. It's at least 20 minutes, and Walmart is only 5, so that's where I go. I hate every second of it, but it's too convenient not to shop there.
Okay okay y'all these are tame.
My UO: I'm prolife. Every time, all the time.
*always lurking*
You can express your opinion on this topic without being rude or offensive, which makes you different from a lot of pro-lifers. This is why I still love you.
I lurk. I snark. I offer sound advice if you're not BSC. You may not like me. I'm okay with it.
I apparently need to try shopping at Aldi. We have one near our house and I've never been.
UO? I don't know....I think chocolate is disgusting and I hate when people tell me I'm weird for not liking it. I won't tell you that you are weird for liking/not liking something.
@PBear93 I'm not the biggest chocolate fan either. I turn down chocolate cake, ice cream, etc. My MIL says there is something wrong with me because of this.
But I do love a good chocolate chip cookie! And Reese's are yum. Mmmmm peanut butter.

people smoke and get lung cancer - the medical system helps them.
People drink and get liver disease - the medical system helps them.
People have unprotected sex - the medical system helps them.
But it's hard to pick and choose, and it's not right to take a choice away from people who need it just because there's people that abuse the system.
