HBamama2B Thank you so much. Yes, football weekend with the big kiddos is a lot of fun...those boys ate 25 hamburgers (12lbs of ground beef), with buns, lettuce and tomato, 24 foot long hot dogs with buns, 4 sweet potato pies, 2 dozen cookies and about 40 bottles of welch's juices... they kept laughing at me because I would stop what I was doing just to watch them eat and then I would pray for a) a baby girl or b) more money in the event we have a baby boy. It was a great distraction though, because I started getting some anxiety leading up to this week... haven't gotten this far before so I am a tad overwhelmed. Usually my workouts are how I relieve my anxiety, or by singing... working out has gotten uncomfortable because of all the bloating and heaviness in my abdomen. I sang for a good hour and was still on edge... so having a bunch of silly boys over definitely helped.
Are there any more newbies to the group?? I wanna welcome them!

@shaylatrice what a riot! I too am a singer! Although super deep belly breaths are a bit of a strain. Singing in my church choir and with my ladies acapella group are a great stress relief! Also Disney songs in the shower... I recommend that to everyone!

mclorn OMG... I know. I tried hitting my highs and I felt like I was gonna explode from the inside. this heaviness in my lower abdomen is really impeding me being able to do a lot of normal stuff... including sleeping on my stomach. LOL the other day I was doing a Barre workout which is pretty low impact because it is about control, balance and elongating the muscle... I did like 4 of the squats and was like... GOOD WORK OUT! I'm a small girl... but I feel so chunky now because I have this bloated belly pooch thingy I've never had before....I guess at this stage it's about listening to my body which is very hard for me because I'm a personal trainer and I'm so used to telling my body what to do...I told DH that the boys need to come over every day til Friday to keep me preoccupied... he thought I was joking.

@mclorn for beta, I asked DH if he wanted them to call him, bc when do guys ever get to know first?? But he wasn't interested. I don't want to find it at work tho and I would like to hear it together, so I'm asking them to leave a VM on my phone and we will listen to it at home after work. so not gonna be productive that day at all!!!
Also- today was my first day back in the office and one of my female coworker/friends said "how are you feeling? You look like it's been rough." Grrr! I mean she thinks it's the flu or something, but talk about something you never say to a woman even when it's true!! It actually made me laugh it was so ridiculous. Otherwise a fantastic day back at the office with most of my usual vip vim and vinegar. /:)
I woulda told her that she should be quite familiar with what "rough looks like" since she has to look at herself in the mirror every day.

@ShayLatrice I did a Tracy Anderson pregnancy month 1 video (can anyone say wishful thinking?!?) I borrowed from the library. Like @mclorn pointed out, we all are 3 weeks pregnant.
And thank goodness you gals also are feeling the rock-hard bloaty bloat that I am. I was on 5 pounds in 48 hours watch (paranoid). @HBamama2B you nailed it! I even read that comment to my DH to prove I wasn't the only one.
I've been having to eat small, small meals more often during the day avoiding bread, rice, pasta, anything that expands basically. It has helped.
jav5y2 Hey, keep wishful thinking... you need all the positive MOJO possible! I've been mainly working on my arms and spinning on my bike, I think once the retrieval/transfer is done I'll go back to doing my lower impact... right now it's just to uncomfortable.

As a personal trainer I bet it's real hard for you to take it down a notch! @LCK0830 that's awesome! I also wondered if when in the delivery room we should blow up a picture of our RE's face to punch instead of my DH?! @HBamama2B I've been getting the same comments at work, although I did get hit by a cab less than two weeks ago, so I really do look rough!!
mclorn Yeah it is hard to not just go Sly Stallone in the gym... but, DH wouldn't let me... he be coming in there checking my heart rate. I wanna run, but I can't... I wanna work on my abs... but I can't... I wanna do plyometrics... but I can't... and then all my body wants to do is sleep, and eat french fries... :-??.

I had a crazy vivid dream on Saturday night (3dp5dt): I poas and clearly saw two lines. Then I had another crazy vivid dream last night (4dp5dt): I went to the bathroom and finally saw implantation blood. Both times it took me a few seconds after I woke up to realize that I was just dreaming. I dream pretty often but that feeling when you wake up and are not sure what's real and what isn't- that hardly ever happens to me. Maybe this is my first symptom! Yay! I'll take what I can get:) thanks old wives tales! Those ladies knew what's up! Also- bc I missed 3 days of work I also had to field multiple questions about how I was doing and what happened even from people I never talk to! Annoying! I just answered vaguely and mysteriouSly. I go back and forth about whether I should tell my boss about what I'm going through. What do you guys do? I can see why they wonder what is up with me since I have to miss pretty often bc of labs and u/s and extraction, and transfer. But at the same time I do not want everyone at work to constantly ask me about where I am in the process. It's a dilemma.
@Isabelfuentes2015 I have a very good relationship with my boss so I told her straight away about the process. She has been very understanding and have allowed me certain flexibilities to do all my testing, appointments, acupuncture and has even allowed me to work from home when I'm too tired and disoriented to drive. I really think it depends on how comfortable you feel divulging so much personal information to your boss. I definitely think it is much easier to explain to a female boss...when we started I had a male boss and he just didn't seem to calculate the mathematics I was laying out.
In both cases I demanded confidentiality so that I didnt have to deal with co workers knowing my personal business.

@Isabelfuentes2015 oh my goodness congrats!! I'm so happy for your positives! First of MANY from this group, I can feel it!! At this point I don't think you need to say anything until you are ready to announce your pregnancy, which may only be a few more weeks anyways!
Hey everyone!! I started my first IVF on September 18 with shots. My husband had testicular cancer which left him sterile ( he sperm banked 5 years ago )so we are praying for good results on my end! I had my egg retreival last Tuesday and they got a total of 16 eggs. 12 fertilized and only 2 made it to blasto stage which was pretty dis-appointing. I had OHSS so my RE wanted us to freeze and wait a month before transfer. I started my period today so will start BC and hopefully start progesterone on October 22 if ovaries have returned to normal followed by an FET November 13. Reading everyones stories have been so encouraging We were hoping to transfer 2 embryos but since we only got 2 , will probably just do one . Excited to meet all of you!!
Welcome @tatkat54 ! GL on you cycle, that's exciting. Two embies may not be a lot but it only takes one! I will cross my fingers toes and everything for you!!
Work: I want having apts every day and planned to take off or work from home for the ET and ER so I went ahead and told my boss (like @ShayLatrice my boss and I have an excellent relationship and I felt that she would be supportive and may have personal experience that would allow her to understand the demands). It was the right thing to do for me. She was and has been great and it reduced my stress significantly because I put an enormous amount of value on being a great employee. As for my coworkers, nunya business! I just said I had a minor procedure and left it at that. I like them, but I haven't told most family or friends so why should they be in the loop?
Dreams: I've been having very weird dreams, nothing about being knocked up though! That would be lovely!
I also had a dream that I got a positive pregnancy test! However, my next dream was that I was searching for macaroni and cheese through a zombie apocalypse.
I'm not going to tell my (male) boss. We have a good working relationship but I don't think he'd understand where I'm coming from. So, this is something I've been struggling with - whether or not to tell friends and family we did IVF. On one hand I feel like I don't know how others conceived, why should I feel compelled to tell people how I got pregnant? But, on the other hand, the people who have opened up to me about their IF have been so helpful through the process and I would like to return the favor to someone else. This is a constant battle in my head.

I have a good relationship with my principal. I sat down with her before I started and explained what would be happening. I would be late a few days so I wanted her to know that it wasn't bc I was a slacker and sleeping in lol.... Then they canceled me, and I had to explain that. She was supportive, and is aware of my next start date.
@tatkat54 welcome to the group!! You can still transfer the 2! Better odds. I know you won't have any to freeze and save though, so that's gotta be a hard decision. Praying for you!!!

I, too, have been struggling with who to tell! My husband is so quiet and wants to keep everything between us. Clearly it is a very personal process, so I want to respect his wishes. I have been very quiet until a month or so ago. After my failed IVF, I realized I just needed to talk to some people. That's why I joined this group, and I have opened up to several friends and even my parents (I feel awful that my husband does not know the extent, but I think it's a healthy balance for both of us). I have not mentioned anything at work, but honestly in retrospect it would have definitely eased some stress. At this point I hope I am through the trenches so not necessary any more. It's very hard to know what to do- it's not that I'm embarrassed of our conception story, and I do want to be an advocate for others, but my family has always kept quiet about personal medical issues, etc, so I figure when the time is right I will slowly let others into my circle of trust!

LCK0830 that indeed could be a struggle, but I always think the first person you have to protect in this process is you. Once you open this journey up to people, especially non IF people the flood gates will be open and you have to be mentally able to handle all the questions, comments, judgments, etc. I wish more people were strong enough to have those conversations but I understand just how delicate this info is. It is def a battle, even with my mentors, I battle with how much info do I give them....

I had my first RE appt after my ET. Looks like I got my info wrong or who knows what but they only wanted to check my uterus lining nothing else. They did an ultrasound according to my RE everything look good. I have been experiences small cramps like when i'm about to get my period.
Anyhow, whatever the RE told me was not enough for me I was going to get some better news so this put like a huge grey cloud on me and i been feeling discourage and sad. i was crying all day and worst after I took a pregnancy test and i got a BFN.
Today is my 10dp3dt and my hope level is very low.
I will have another RE appt next Monday (blood work) and planning to take a pregnancy test on Thursday again. I'm praying for some good news.

Right now I'm not feeling enthusiastic about telling more people. Of my two friends who know we did IVF, one keeps harping on how long the 2ww will feel (as if that makes it any better) and the other asked what I'm going to do if the cycle fails - if we'll "go through the whole, long process again"? Maybe I'm just in a bad mood but I have enough of my own questions to answer, I don't want to deal with other people's. Perhaps I'll feel differently once I get a BFP (positive thinking ).
@mclorn my husband is the same way- very private. At least he started that way. He didn't see the point in talking about it, he didn't feel anyone needed to know. He was hopeful for a quick response to the process and for us to just be pregnant. Not the case though. Now that the process has become more intense and more time consuming, he understand more and respects that I need to talk to people about it. We are so opposite in that respect, I'm open to all-- I would talk to a stranger about it all- I find it therapeutic to talk. He likes his privacy, so we have compromised. Out close friends and family know, so that I receive the support I need, and we don't make it public knowledge to anyone else (other than u ladies!!!! ) he knows I'm in this thread and he knows how much it's helped me, so he approves of this forum! Lol

@ShayLatrice I did a Tracy Anderson pregnancy month 1 video (can anyone say wishful thinking?!?) I borrowed from the library. Like @mclorn pointed out, we all are 3 weeks pregnant.
And thank goodness you gals also are feeling the rock-hard bloaty bloat that I am. I was on 5 pounds in 48 hours watch (paranoid). @HBamama2B you nailed it! I even read that comment to my DH to prove I wasn't the only one.
I've been having to eat small, small meals more often during the day avoiding bread, rice, pasta, anything that expands basically. It has helped.

I've seen that same expression from my dog. The look of judgement and disapproval.
Also- bc I missed 3 days of work I also had to field multiple questions about how I was doing and what happened even from people I never talk to! Annoying! I just answered vaguely and mysteriouSly. I go back and forth about whether I should tell my boss about what I'm going through. What do you guys do? I can see why they wonder what is up with me since I have to miss pretty often bc of labs and u/s and extraction, and transfer. But at the same time I do not want everyone at work to constantly ask me about where I am in the process. It's a dilemma.

At this point I don't think you need to say anything until you are ready to announce your pregnancy, which may only be a few more weeks anyways!
We were hoping to transfer 2 embryos but since we only got 2 , will probably just do one . Excited to meet all of you!!
Work: I want having apts every day and planned to take off or work from home for the ET and ER so I went ahead and told my boss (like @ShayLatrice my boss and I have an excellent relationship and I felt that she would be supportive and may have personal experience that would allow her to understand the demands). It was the right thing to do for me. She was and has been great and it reduced my stress significantly because I put an enormous amount of value on being a great employee. As for my coworkers, nunya business!
Dreams: I've been having very weird dreams, nothing about being knocked up though! That would be lovely!
I'm not going to tell my (male) boss. We have a good working relationship but I don't think he'd understand where I'm coming from. So, this is something I've been struggling with - whether or not to tell friends and family we did IVF. On one hand I feel like I don't know how others conceived, why should I feel compelled to tell people how I got pregnant? But, on the other hand, the people who have opened up to me about their IF have been so helpful through the process and I would like to return the favor to someone else. This is a constant battle in my head.

He was hopeful for a quick response to the process and for us to just be pregnant. Not the case though.
Now that the process has become more intense and more time consuming, he understand more and respects that I need to talk to people about it.
We are so opposite in that respect, I'm open to all-- I would talk to a stranger about it all- I find it therapeutic to talk. He likes his privacy, so we have compromised. Out close friends and family know, so that I receive the support I need, and we don't make it public knowledge to anyone else (other than u ladies!!!!
