So I just got an update! I will be doing my transfer tomorrow at 11am. The nurse told me that as of day 3 I still had 10 embryos mostly grade A with a couple lower ones but nothing lower than grade B. I think I am happy about this? They don't look at them on day 4 so I just pray at least a few are still looking good tomorrow!
Thanks ladies! I keep joking that it will be useful when our kids are fighting over who gets the biggest room. If one says they should have it bc they're the oldest, I'm just going to jump in and be like "Invalid! You were all conceived on the same day!" Lol. Idk why but I just really want to say that to them, often.
10 seems to be a magic number lately! 10 frozen, 10 growing, 10 others growing, anniversary dates, and the 10th month!! Wow , spoooooky. [-O< hoping this is it for all of us!
>:D< yeah. It's a very interesting to think about. We want 3 kids which seemed like a pipe dream given my age and our IF, but now it's like maybe they're all there just waiting. 8->

Hello! I feel as though I am incredibly late to this party but thought I would join in anyway.
Background (the long version) I am 32 years old and my partner and I have been ttc for over 3 years. We have unexplained infertility:( Earlier this year we went through a uterine polyp removal, and 3 failed iuis. Our first Ivf cycle started in August and we made it through egg retrieval (11 eggs collected, 9 icsi fertilized, 6 made it to blast stage). We opted for pgs testing and lost 1 6AA (best rating for our clinic) to trisomy 22. We froze the remaining 5 good quality embryos. My doctor recommended that we do a frozen embryo transfer. Fast forward to this week, after the fet protocol finally ended I had my transfer on Wednesday. We chose to transfer 1 and bc we had genetic testing knew the sex of all 5 embryos. When asked which we wanted to transfer it became a big dilemma bc choosing the sex of your baby turns out is crazy stressful. So we decided to let the embryologist select and were told after the transfer it was a boy. My clinic recommends 48 hours of bed rest. I'm super paranoid the embryo will fall out of me so I decided to extend my bed rest another 48 hours. I've been laying around reading this thread and googling symptoms of implantation non-stop. I've had zero signs of implantation. My beta is scheduled for the 12th (Columbus Day? Yikes! Genocide much?). It feels like it's years away. I'm thinking that once Monday is here, I'll go back to work and my mind will be preoccupied with work and I'll have less time to obsess.
My very important question: I do plan on poas. My clinic is making me wait until 12days post 5 day transfer to pregnancy test which seems waaay excessive to my sanity. When is the earliest that one can reasonably begin to poas? I noticed that some of you go back just 9 days after 5 day transfer for beta. Does this mean 9 is the shortest "reasonable" time frame to wait? Anyone heard of shorter waiting periods?
Reading all of the posts on this thread has really been a lifesaver over these past couple of days. I'm so glad I stumbled on it. Seems like there was lots of positivity in September. Here's to some more
Welcome to the group! Congratulations on your boy embryo! How exciting! I wouldn't worry about not having signs of implantation (which I know is way easier said than done. I'll be obsessing over every twinge.). A lot of woman don't notice anything and end up with a BFP.
My clinic will make me wait 13 days past a 5 day transfer which will feel like a lifetime. My nurse told me I could poas the day before but not any sooner because I could get a false negative. However, it does seem like others have a beta before then so I'm looking forward to hearing other responses.
Welcome @Isabelfuentes2015 ! I had my transfer on Wednesday too! I have no implantation symptoms either! I feel you on trying not to let it get to you. But this is a great group so you've come to the right place! :-h
@Isabelfuentes2015 welcome to the group. Hoping there are some BFP's soon! I'm glad I'm not the only one that stresses over this stuff. I didn't start to feel stressed up the last few days. Doctor confirmed I do Pio tomorrow. I'm nervous!! I think I will make hubby do it. Any suggestions are welcomed. We meet with the doc to decide which and how many to transfer. We have 3. PGS tested. 2 boys and one girl. Then the transfer on Friday. I'm starting to think about the what ifs. I have to take this day by day as I have this far! So glad you guys are around.
Hi and welcome!! Love to hear your background story. I'd also love to hear more about your decision to do pgs!
I've done the math/science and I think 8dp5dt is a realistic time to test. So for you, Thursday. For FET, it takes about 2 days for the embryo to start to implant, a couple more to really get in there, and then a few more days to secret enough hcg to be picked up on Hpt. Just my educated guess!!
I don't really think I have any symptoms, either... Slight achy feeling in my uterus-area but who knows. With my failed fresh IVF a swear I felt implantation though! Argh!
@Joyzie77 wow, how do you choose?! That's seriously such a tough call....I hope you find clarity and a decision you are comfortable with! As for the PIO, seriously no big deal! I usually barely even feel it! Ice first and have hubby do it. Have him insert the needle quickly, but then slowly inject the PIO... You got this.
@Isabelfuentes2015 also FYI I have heard of people getting bfp as early as 4dp5dt, and others get bfn even the day of their beta and it's really bfp....
@Joyzie77 you can do this! I agree w/ @mclorn, numb it up really well. I also heat the vial of oil on a pad before drawing, goes in easier. Whatever works for you!
@Joyzie77 progesterone injections weren't as bad as I was expecting. I've been icing for a few minutes before injection, then injection followed immediately by intense rubbing of injected area then a heating pad for a couple of minutes. I had 4 boys, 1 girl embryos that were frozen. Knowing that there was only 1 shot at a girl sent us into a never ending what if scenarios that was impossible to get out of. That's why we decided to let embryologist choose between a 6aa boy or 5aa girl. @mclorn thanks for the info! This coming Thursday sounds way better than Monday the 12th! We decided to do pgs bc we feel like we've been trying forever and decided it was worth it to transfer back only tested embryos to give ourselves the best possible chance. The $4,500 out of pocket was a big bummer but the thought that it might prevent a miscarriage seems worth it. Luckily, my insurance has covered soo much of the Ivf treatment (we've only had reasonable co-pays) so we decided to splurge and test before our transfer. They tested 6 and 5 were "normal", the trisomy embryo was graded a 6aa so could have easily been one we transferred first. Dr said it would've been very unlikely to implant and even if it did would not have made it past first trimester. I would love to feel achy uterus! I want to feel something. I think I read that only 1/3 women experience implantation symptoms.
@Isabelfuentes2015 I POAS 4 days after a day 6 fresh transfer and got a faint line so I took a digital and got a yes. (And it's only a singleton). My Dr says that seemed a bit early to test but I didn't have hcg trigger so I knew I wouldn't get a false positive. I read online you can start at 4 days post, so I did. Just remeber, the tests accuracy is far less the earlier you test. So keep testing=)
Hi girls! So transfer is in the books! I transferred one 4AA blast. The doctor told me that I have at least one more good qualify blast to freeze. I may get a couple more but they have to watch them for another day or so. The rest are early blasts so they are a little behind where they should be. Hopefully I will get a couple more to freeze but I fe good about the one we transferred!:)
@runmeg91 congrats my fellow PUPO! So happy for you, sounds like a perfect embryo & transfer. 8-> I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your little embies!
Thanks girls! I'm feeling cautiously optimistic! My husband bought me a pregnancy journal and gave it to me today right before the transfer and of course I started crying. I put the little picture of our blast in there. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I just really feel like that little blast is going to be our baby. Im getting way to far ahead of myself as always!
@runmeg91 congratulations on the transfer!! Glad everything went so well today and how sweet of your husband!! I've got my transfer tomorrow morning, so we will be waiting together!
Seeing all the BFP'S gives me such hope . I'm so happy for all of you and FX for everyone in the 2WW . I start my injections on Friday . I'm super nervous but have found some comfort in reading these posts. I don't post a lot but I have been reading/following everyone's story's for a while now . We're expecting our ER for the 20 And the ET 25.
What a sweet gesture from your DH! I think it's good to be optimistic. You made it through an emotionally, financially, and physically stressful process; and there's a high likelihood you'll have a baby in 9 months! @runmeg91
Congratulations on starting the process @poeface ! Wishing you all the best!
Re: September / October IVF
Definitely breathing a sigh of a relief after losing so many Wednesday.
Transfer Sunday morning!
@runmeg91 10 mostly grade A is AWESOME, definitely something to be happy about! Good luck tomorrow!!
