@kattyleigh - What is a tula? I'm new to all this. I will need a baby wearer though.
I also saw a Baby Jogger City Mini Stroller being sold at work for $100 (retails for $250 plus a $25 lap bar thrown in) and a Graco Pack'n'Play with the changing station/bassinet and vibration/sound for $50 (retails for over $150 I think) and I'm tempted to buy it. Thoughts?
I'll be a baby wearer but I'm gonna see if my cousin who just had a baby in June would let me borrow her wraps. I'll buy a strap on carrier when we are father along so it's easier to let DH carry.
I'll use my ergo again. My SIL gave me her Moby but I never used it with DD, I was nervous about not tying it correctly. I predict using it a lot with this one though so I have free hands for my toddler. It seems like it'll be more comfortable to wear around the house than the ergo.
does anyone make one to carry a toddler on the back and an infant in the front? (if not, i'm totally trademarking that. but i'm not sure i even want it, because holy hell that would be heavy.)
I started out with a gifted moby, and then got a ring sling that I LOVED. Then as DD got bigger I got a Make Mei Tai which is also another favorite and is more comfortable to carry her in. Have you ever had issues baby wearing while pregnant?
@newbabymakes4 you can tandem wrap when they are itty bitty with a size 7 woven because it's much longer or I know people that will wrap baby first and carry toddler on the back with a mei tai so it's totally a thing
I made one of my wraps and have a moby as well and would love to make up a mei tai this go around!
The Moby was one of the only ways my dd would sleep when she was an itty bitty. I wore that thing all day long. After she was like 3 months I was all about the ergo. Seriously though, Moby saved my sanity.
Since we're all going be wearing squishy babies in the summer if you liked your Moby check out a Solly Baby. So much cooler in the heat. Mine is currently MIA, potentionally stolen
I'm happy to talk about ring slings, mei tais, & woven wraps too
Ahhh so jealous of your Tula! We have a ring sling, a Bjorn, and an Ergo- all of which we really like.
I'm looking forward to using the ring sling with a newborn. I bought it later on last time to replace my Moby (I'm very short and it was just too much fabric) and wished I had done it sooner.
I liked my moby but was only really comfortable with it when DS was itty bitty and only in one tie. I love love love my Ergo, though, so I may get the infant insert for that.
I cannot understand how anyone can justify the cost of a Tula. I have used one (my gf swears by them) and didn't see what made them more special. I used my Ergo, that I got at TJ Maxx for $60, and liked it just as much.
I love baby wearing. And I assume with baby 2 on the way, it will happen even more.

Because we can spend our money how we see fit. $149 isn't a lot for a carrier. And my daughter hated the Ergo and so did I... It's like saying I don't see how anyone can justify the cost of a $600 stroller... It's not my place to judge how they spend their money

I am sorry if this came across wrong. I agree. People can spend money as they see fit. It just is not a splurge I will understand. I am certain I splurge in areas others don't understand too :-) I don't judge people for having a Tula. I just can't justify the cost. That's just my personal feelings.
For those that have Tulas - rock on. For those that don't - that's great too.

Edit: because I wanted to add on more context.
It's the argument of why buy a coach purse when a canvas tote does the same thing, why buy ughs when Walmart makes $15 knock offs, why buy a Toyota when a Hyundai can get you there. There are plenty of times when people upgrade unnessicarily. Tulas hold great resale value too.
I have a 11 month old and I absolutely looooove my Tula and so does he! Couldn't have made it thru a Disney trip without it! One of my top investments as far as baby things go!
@nicknshan thanks for clarifying. I try so hard to word things carefully on the interwebz since so much is lacking when not face to face. I know I fail abysmally sometimes.
Many people buy an Ergo at retail which starts at $125. Standard canvas Tula is $149. Market value and wrap conversions are a different conversation.
I have 7 kinderpacks, an ergo, lillebaby, ring sling, wrap. Kinderpack is by far my favorite

I want to add that just because your first (or 2nd+) liked one carrier doesn't mean this baby will. DS1 loved the Moby and hated any structured carrier. DS2 hated the Moby so I bought an Ergo off FB for $40. I love it and will be looking for an infant insert. For back support I prefer the Ergo for bigger toddlers, but I wore DS1 in the Moby hip and back wrap for a long time.
Lillebaby is coming out with an anchor carrier that is almost identical to my anchor kinderpack. I might have to buy it. Everyone needs 10 ssc right?

Can someone explain what's so great about the Tula? I see everyone talking about them and I'm definitely interested, but I just don't get what makes it so different from other carriers. I have an original Ergo and a Moby wrap ... I like and dislike different things about them, but am overall happy with them. Everyone seems to love Tula, so I'm really curious why ... maybe I'll look into getting one?
I'm looking at getting a SSC for this one. I just get out so much and do sim any activities with LO through my moms group that I know I will need a carrier. I think I'm going to get a Lillebaby. I tried a few different ones on the other day and I liked that one the best.

Each SSC is slightly different. Some have more padding or longer length of padding on the shoulder straps or waist. Leg out padding. Different clip styles. And just how they fit your body & baby. I posted a link above that's a great read
I have an Ergo and a Solly (love, love LOVE the Solly wrap), and still wear my 10 month old in both. If this nugget is a little girl, I'm just itching to buy a pink Solly.
I want to try a ring sling so badly because it looks like it'd be easier to wear a toddler in it with a baby belly... Advice from anyone?

I just discovered the solly by reading this thread. What do you love about it? Checked the site and their patterns and colours look amazing. Fabric looks lighter than the moby?
If you haven't tried the ssc you want to buy i highly recommend a babywearing meeting and try on all the carriers. Trying on is how i discovered i hated tula and loved kinderpack

So I kind of skipped baby wearing with my daughter. I just wasn't into it. However, with a toddler and another on the way, I'm all about finding a carrier that works for me!
I love the look of the Solly wraps, so I'll probably try one of those.
I'm completely in the dark about Tula. What makes them a must-buy?
I'm a kinderpack person. We have an ergo. It was fine, we just prefer the KPs. The mesh panel is great in hot, hot FL. We also have a moby. My husband loved it when our daughter was small. The lack of structure freaks me out personally.

Standard Tulas are actually less than an Ergo...

@kattyleigh I know some Ergos are very expensive. However, I did not know any Tula was less than an Ergo.
I seriously did not mean to sound like I was judging anyone for buying one. There is nothing worse than mamas judging mamas.
I'd insert a rainbow gif but I guess I need to learn how to do that on an iPhone.
