Well, this is not going to go over well. There's a reason 40 weeks is considered full term. Your baby will come when it's ready. There are women on this board who are dealing with premature babies in the NICU. Please don't wish that upon yourself or your baby.

Much prayers to them, I know a couple mom's who had there babies early one of em had twins a Month early and they were a healthy 6 pounds. Another she had to get induce a month early and her son was a 7 pounds. I've dealt with a premature baby and she was 2 days late. I guess it all varies.

Forgive my ignorance, but how can a baby born 2 days late be considered premature?
All forgiven. I'm not sure this was 5 years ago. All I know is she just wasn't latching on.. not eating as much. They just kept saying she was premature. She weighed 4 pounds but they let her come home.

I can definitely say an early delivery is no joke. I have to have an early delivery as going full term is a HUGE risk to my baby's life as well as mine. I think you should rethink your "humor" OP because you are certainly not funny.

Does anyone have a moon moon gif or a special snowflake gif? I can't get my phone to gif :(

Awww sorry you feel that way.
  • I also fine this comment extremely crass, as I could be induced any day. My blood pressure is incredibly high and have been on bedrest for it. I had to be induced last time for preeclampsia at 37 weeks and I don't think il even make it that long with this one.

Although, I understand you were trying to make a joke. There are mothers on here that have gone into early labor and there babies are having a stay in the NICU. Please don't wish this upon yourself because you don't want to "share your birthday month!" Seems rather alarming you would even make such a "joke" like this on this board. Rethink your posts mmmkkay!

FALSE! DD1 5 days early and DD2 1 week late. Both deliveries from time to hospital to baby where less than 8 hrs.
ETA I share a birth month with DD2 never thought it as bad. I don't need a whole month to myself. I would be skrewed on that if I did because of Christmas. I know two sibling sets that share same day (Years apart). Your baby will come when it's ready.
  • I don't think the OP had any intentions of inferring the baby would be coming before it was ready. While perhaps not the most tactful in her wording, and certainly not in her responses, I think there is a legitimate question if you read between the lines.

FWIW- I talked with a NICU nurse about this on Saturday, as I too would be 100% on board if baby decided to make her debut a few days early- and she quickly squashed my fantasies and said it's completely untrue.

This must be MUD. Your baby is not considered premature if born after your EDD or not latching. Take it from someone whose DS fell into both of those buckets. The rest of your post is just absurd.

    1. A baby CAN in fact be premature even if he/she is born on/after their due date. Like stated thousands of times on TB, due dates are just an estimate. When a baby is born you can tell by how much the baby is developed whether or not the due date was accurate. They gave my mom an emergency c-section at 36 weeks (as soon as they considered "safe") only to later realize that my sister was 6+ weeks premature, not 4 as they initially thought.

    2. I had DD at 38 weeks and asked my doctor if that means I will have DD2 early and she said "it's very likely". OBVIOUSLY there is no science behind this as it varies from woman to woman. She simply based her answer from what she has witnessed herself.

  • I was told 37 weeks is considered full term, babies tend to be a lot healthier and not need any interventions at this time. Which is why it is "safe" to deliver at 37 weeks.

The myth is that the labor will get faster, in my case it was true. As far as when they came that's a no, had a friend deliver her first 3 1-2 weeks earlier and 4th was a week late.
