Re: Feeding lo - accomplishments and concerns. Month of September!
I've been using the packs that stick to your skin for 8 hours as they're the only thing that holds heat enough to break up the clog. I am starting to get concerned about chemicals seeping into my breast tissue from them. Do you think I'm overreacting? It is really the only thing that will break the deep clogs.
Eta this way she gets the warm good stuff from my boob and I'm hoping this means she won't self wean because the bottle is easier
Could it be that the breast she was feeding on is empty, that's why she's ok with latching to the other?
So during a crazy heat wave this summer, LO was refusing to nurse. DH claimed he wanted cold milk and yup, he guzzled it right down. For about 18 hours he refused to nurse or to drink freshly pumped milk, only chilled milk. He did this several times this summer. Weird kid.
ETA he would be eating constantly literally if I took his hands in mouth as hunger cues
Thanks for your input
I mean this in the nicest way but she really is old enough that you can stop monitoring her intake and weight gain. Trust her a little bit. She will eat what she's needs. And really babies poop more than 3oz, her #2 schedule is going to interfere with all this. And babies growth does start to slow down and 2.5 oz in a feeding isn't that little. My LO is a tank and he's satisfied off only my right boob which doesn't work (I have one DD and one B/C cup), that's never more than 2-3 oz. From a bottle DH says he takes 2.5-3.5 ozs many feedings. Let yourself off the hook and don't stress about this unless she has some medical issues that require you to monitor it. You have enough on your plate!
When do you feed LO in the middle of the night? When they wake up, or when they cry?
DD has been sleeping in her nursery the past few days, but when she was in our room, I would feed her upon waking, so she didn't cry and wake the whole house. Now that she's in her crib, I just heard her wake up, and i'm watching the monitor. She's kicking and cooing, but not crying. I'm waiting it out to see if she falls back asleep. What would you do?
We are all at the point with the LOs that you shouldn't force them to eat or finish a bottle. They are big enough to follow their own hunger cues. Take a deep breath, you're doing a great job!
This morning around 4:45 I woke up because LO was up kicking and playing. I figured I would just go pee since I was up any way. When I got back into the bedroom LO was kicking DH in the butt and trying to breast feed on his back. It was really funny to see LO just rooting and licking away while kicking him in the rear! Not sure if this is really an accomplishment, but if it keeps up I might be concerned that DH's back seems comparable to my front! Lol!!
Sorry you have to keep dealing with these, @dancegurl1118 .
