  • @kitteh81

(A whole week late to reply)

I work at a domestic violence shelter for women and children. I am a PRN so my shifts are crazy random. Tonight is another night shift so 12am-8am.

I am studying to be a teacher :)

I would have replied sooner, but every time I tried to get on life kicked me in the ass. (Do we cuss on here? or keep it PG?)

  • Morning!
My tummy is doing much better this morning. I've already been to the gym and got to sit in one of the heavenly massage chairs! Now I'm laying back in bed, hoping to feel some movement this morning. I usually don't feel it until night time though :/

  • @ecwk well, looks like you got my vote! Congrats lol =D>

  • Ds and I are at the park this morning. We an into some couples we know so it was nice he could run around with some kids his age. It is a brisk fall day and I definitely am craving some warm soup for lunch.
  • AMEN to hopefully being able to turn off the air for good. I am so sick of having 50-60 degree weather one week and then weather in the 80s the next. Chicago, you're such a tease - gimme fall temps for good please. And maybe for longer than a month this year.

  • @stormiewinter I read it as DH not DS and was picturing a grown man running around at the park with his friends. Lol serious wtf moment. Jealous of the fall weather you're experiencing....it's not very cool here yet but I'm making vegetable soup for dinner!

@oceanchild I have to know...did you have dessert??
by the time i was done eating ALL THE FOOD (bc i had the waitress bring me a whole extra bowl of salad, and i was tasting huband's amazing food and the kids' as well), i think everyone was just ready to go. and since inlaws were paying i felt a little guilty ordering dessert. but i may go up there just to get a slice one day next week maybe i won't be as stuffed and have more room to enjoy it :)

@yodapup the house we moved into has f*cking popcorn ceilings too. i cannot express my loathing for them without usingincredible offensive language, so i shall refrain, but my hubs keeps talking about removing the popcorn too. as badly as i want this to happen, i absolutely dread it. like i want to disappear from the earth when it happens. or win the lotto and pay someone else to deal with it and the ensuing mess. UGH

@oceanchild @yodapup The last house we bought had popcorn ceilings throughout....and it was sprayed with GLITTER. In the entire house. It was like a discoball out of the corner of my eye 24/7. It was a fixer upper so I took that on as my project while DH was pulling up the floors. It was SO messy and time consuming, but it was totally worth getting rid of it after it was all said and done. Also my arms and shoulders were super sculpt after so bonus. So sad we had to move from that house due to a work relo :(

  • @flowerpower5838 - Glitter!! Yeah that would go asap. We have popcorn throughout but we're taking it one room at a time. We have really high vaulted ceilings in our entry way/ living room so we would definitely have to hire professionals for that. I can't imagine removing the popcorn from the whole house so way to go!! That is a lot of work!

    Kinda excited :)

Hubby walked to work to get a piece of paper he left there- it was a job post at the local college for a communication specialist. But when he got there, he got on to his work email, to find that the newspaper where he works is looking for a full time copy editor. So he is still there, getting his resume finished and sent off! I really hope he gets it. They cut his part time hours because they decided "anything over 30 hours and they have to offer benefits now", even though he doesn't need them because he gets benefits through me. He has been working there 6+ years and they do this to him- in the sports department. This copy editor job is in a different dept. So he won't be treated like that- working a full time job on part time pay.

I really hope he gets one or the other... I have had my big break and now it's time for his!

If you're in the U.S. the 30 hour thing isn't his job it has to do with Obama care. We have to follow the same restrictions at my current job and the same with the job I previously had right when the law first went into affect.

If your not in the U.S. ignore me lol.

We are in the US- but they never did anything about it until this july. he tried for full time in the winter but got overlooked- was working 34 hours a week. Now he is down to 26-28. We cant live on that.

Trust me I understand. I ended up leaving the job I had when they enacted it. Went from working 40 hours a week to working 25 because I was officially labelled as part-time. It was such bologna.

If they just started enforcing it there I'm really shocked that they got by without following that policy for as long as they did. From what I was told there were some very very large fines for the company for every employee that violated the guidelines.

  • @kynbar5, I did it AGAIN! Went to the store with a list and forgot the vitamins.

    I need help.

  • Dh vent: I have a great husband who I love dearly, but he can be such a baby when he doesn't get enough sleep or gets woken up early. This morning Ds woke me up at 4:23, his bedroom was cold and he lost his soother so he wanted me to lie with him. Which I did, but basically didn't get much sleep after that. When my alarm went off at 6 I brought him into our bed to watch cartoons, so I could get ready for work. Dh made a stink so I held off until 630 and when I finally went to shower he says "if I'd have known I was going to have to get up so early I would have gone to bed an hour earlier."gah as if it is somehow my fault. I could have slapped him! Sorry just needed to get that off my chest.
  • @Stormiewinter I definitely would have slapped him. And I can totally empathize with this. My husband is awesome, but when he starts complaining about amounts of sleep I see red. I'm up half of every night with the baby (which he sleeps straight thru). But the rare occasion he does get woken up for 90 seconds before he immediately falls back asleep, you'd think the world won't spin that day. *SLAP!*

  • @Stormiewinter I would be livid. My DH knows better to complain about the amount of sleep he gets on his off days, but he gets up at 4am for work anyway, so he's used to getting up early. He also falls asleep in an instant... and then starts snoring. -_-

  • Morning :)

I am trying to get in to see my ob today.  I still have that abcess and while its getting better its still pink around the outside, so I'm trying to get in to get antibiotics to help fight the infection.  It doesn't hurt and I've been keeping it clean, but just think that I need extra help to combat it. I'm waiting for his office to call me back.  He may not want to see me just send a prescription up so I can get antibiotics.

I never got these nasty things this bad until I got pregnant, so I know its the hormones!  Every time I have an ugly hair to deal with, I get one. I had another last weekend on my thigh- I had a patch of black hair that grew in (dunno why...) so I shaved it.  Got one.  But that one cleared right up on its own.   Good thing winter is fast approaching so I won't have to shave anywhere and these suckers won't keep forming!
