***2nd tri check-in 9/14/15

This is a weekly check-in for those in their 2nd trimester: weeks 14 through the end of week 27.

Congrats to all the strong ladies who have made it this far! It's such a great feeling and we've all accomplished so much! We are now 1 week closer to the end of this epically long journey we call "infertility".

Please post below a little about yourself, how many beans you have growing inside, if you have found out the sex(es) and what your EDD is. Please also let us know how far you've made it on your journey and when your next appt is and what for.

QOTW: Now that football season in the US is officially here- is anyone excited? Either for the games, the food, or both?
(Does anyone have any GTKY questions they'd like me to use in the next couple of weeks? I have been struggling coming up with good ones!)

We had our 24 week appt on Friday and it did not go as planned. We should have been there 45 minutes and it ended up being around 3 hours. First we had another scan to check on the babies' sizes and to try and get a good look at Twin A's face. All of that went well but apparently my cervix was measuring short and showing signs of funneling. Our doctor was in an emergency c-section so they were going to let us meet with an RN to discuss the ultrasound however after the measuring came back, they decided we needed to speak to a doctor. Long story short, they apparently don't really have any information on twins or multiples pregnancies when it comes to cervix issues, so they just use the singleton guide and are a little over the top with precautions.
I have been placed on modified bed rest- so I can run to the store but only for what I need and no walking around for no reason and no exercise. Just rest, sit and lie down as much as possible. For now, I will go in once a week for a repeat ultrasound with a check up right after. If it stays under the 3 cm, I will need to stay on modified bed rest. If it gets down to 2 cm, I will be put on progesterone, again, and be put on complete bed rest.
Our doctor isn't too concerned about pre-term labor at this point because I have no other signs, which is good. But Twin A is sitting head down, pushing on my cervix so that is not helping things. Hopefully, she nudges herself off so we don't have to worry about it anymore and I can come off of bed rest for my 3rd time this pregnancy.
The only good thing from the appt was that both babies were growing and Twin B was catching up to his sister. Also, we finally got to measure Twin A's face and got a really sweet 4d photo of her.
I am very grateful that we did the majority of the nursery over Labor Day weekend so I don't have to stress out about that too much!

QOTW- We are definitely a football family in this house. It's at least on as background noise Sundays, Mondays and now Thursdays. I'm also excited about the food that I associate with watching football: chili, pizza, chips & dip, mozzarella sticks.... just typing that stuff is making me hungry!

I decided yesterday I don't much like my OB (perhaps I don't care for anyone currently :-S )
Because my DD falls in January, the office requires we pay our new deductible, in advance, for delivery. So yesterday OB confirmed we would deliver at 34/35w, which is before Christmas. I told him we could let the business office know so I don't have to continue paying, and he acted like it's no big deal, you'll get your money back. Excuse me, we are not all doctors making bank, and your office is not paying interest on my 2k. (I've met my max so insurance pays 100% until end of year).
He resolved the issue, I'm just annoyed.
DH enjoys football, I personally don't care about the game. We have an outdoor fireplace with TV on the mantle and this is the football/grill spot at home.
@MrsBwIVF oh no! I hope your cervix continues to hold on! Multiples put so much pressure. Have you seen a specialist or referred to one?
On the high risk board there are lots of ladies with early funneling/incompetent cervix and good outcomes, you should check it out!

Two years, two losses and three IUIs...

    We are having TRIPLETS!

    EDD 1/26/16

     GGB born November 2015!

@MrsBwIVF yay for all the good stuff in your post, but boo to the bedrest and cervix issues.  I hope it resolves ok!  :) My OB said they will only check it once at 20 weeks, and if its ok they won't check it again.  So your post has me giving that a big fat side eye.  Seems like it could shorten at any point, so checking it regularly would be of benefit.

@Kelley421 I'm glad the issue resolved eventually, but boo to the OB for being a douche about it.  Dude, I'm having THREE INFANTS.  I need all the money I can get.  lol.

I am 14w3d!  My EDD is technically March 12 (40w) but my OB said because of prior failure to progress ending in c-section we'll end up scheduling around 38 weeks or so if all looks well?  We haven't gone into it too much since I'm early, I'm sure I'll get more details later.  :)

My H loves football.  It is annoying.  We were walking around a store the other day and he was streaming a game to his phone.  Ugh.  :(

Hello - I'm currently in week 16 with one bean.  We're waiting until birth to find out the sex.  EDD is 02/27/16.

I had my 16 week appointment Monday with my OB.  He really scared the crap out of me when he couldn't find the heartbeat right away with the Doppler like last time.  He was even to the point of saying I think we'll have you go see ultrasound to check everything out when he found it.  Still strong at 155 but I really thought this is it - I've had another miscarriage and we just announced on Friday last week on Facebook.  Feeling better about it today but still a little freaked out.  I downloaded the Baby Beat app to see if I could find it on my own but it works best at 30-40 weeks so no luck yet.  Next appt isn't until October for the 20wk ultrasound and OB meeting.

QOTW - Definitely a football house.  Me and DH both play fantasy with some family members and friends for fun.  He's more into it than me but still something to talk about/watch on Sundays.

Hello! Officially in the 2nd tri now as I'm 14 weeks, 4 days. Due March 11, 2016 with 1 baby girl! :). I have an appt next week but I'm actually not sure what it's for lol.
I love football season but just really like it on in the background- for some reason it calms me and is just a nostalgic thing, I don't actually get into it (although DH does and does the whole yelling at the Tv thing). I just love the fall, the cooler weather, Halloween, the leaves changing colors, the comfy clothes...etc.

I don't care about Football season AT ALL. I eat food all the time, not just when people throw footballs. What else is happening now besides football? I miss True Blood, I feel like that used to come on around this time of year, right? Pumpkin EVERYTHING! I have a love / hate relationship with Fall. Love the season, HATE the approaching holidays. Bah humbug.

Now that we have confirmation of another little girl coming we are finally starting to slowly prepare for another baby. I am a major planner, and don't like to leave things too long, but I'm definitely going to take things slower this time around.

17 weeks. Still addicted to my home Doppler. Headed to the OB in the morning for a regular check up and just counting down the days till my bday and our big ultrasound (sept 28th not too far!) Majorly overdid it today with the nesting. Trying to get some projects behind me and my front flower bed hadn't seen me since I got pregnant. My whole body hurts...

QOTW: well. My DH is into music, plays guitar and we went to a university that didn't have a football team. I enjoy football but never think to turn it on. I do know DH feels left out of the guys talk about all sports, but not enough for us to put effort into watching the games. Now if we get invited to a party we can cheer a team on like the best!

23.weeks yesterday! Looking forward to V Day. :) Next app't is next Friday (a week and a half away). Just got through Rosh Hashanah which was wonderful and exhausting. I am finally feeling some movement which is very exciting :)

QOTW: DH is VERY into Pac 12 football, enough that I can actually name a couple of players on his school's tea,. We've gone to a few games including the Rose Bowl. He has taught me a lot about football, and was super proud when I could explain to someone else what a safety was when we were watching the Super Bowl a couple years ago.

Hi there - nothing new to report. DH is annoying me in not helping out with the housework and I'm just a little tired and grumpy today (for absolutely no reason). We had a heat wave and I wasn't into that. Managed to stay hydrated, but it's left me feeling exhausted. Hopefully, I'll get some sleep soon. I can't imagine being on bed rest! I really feel for you. Hopefully, everyone brings you all the creature comforts you desire and things improve.

22 weeks today! Super late this week, but nothing new here.

Football doesn't really exist in our house, unless my brother is over. I'm pretty oblivious and DH doesn't pay attention either. Guess we are just not much of a sports house in general. (Watch this baby be super into all of them ;))

@MrsBwIVF I hope everything stays above 3cm! Keep us in the loop, and I hope the modified bed rest doesn't get too annoying.

@kelley421- I'm glad they got your insurance payment issue under control but it is obnoxious when people aren't concerned about other people's money. You are having 3 kids! You need to save as much as you can and not waste it on bills you shouldn't be paying anyways!
I have not seen a specialist but there is a high risk doctor in the building that they consult with and will send me to if need be.

@fuzzbumble- I'm glad things are staying quiet on your end! The only reason they checked on my cervix is because they were doing a repeat u/s since our little miss refused to look up during the anatomy scan. So we had to have a repeat scan to try and measure her face and nasal bones. Thankfully, she looked up at the last minute before they were going to have me reschedule to come in again!

@Eekers- welcome to second trimester!!! I'm sorry you got so nervous when they couldn't find the heartbeat right away, I bet that was a terrible feeling! And I know you were probably thinking you jinxed it after announcing a few days before. It's such a terrible feeling that I'm sorry to say, may not go away until you have your little on in your arms.

@mrsloriw- welcome to second trimester also!!! So exciting! Good luck at your appt next week.

@potatocastillo- congrats on learning about your little lady! I am a HUGE planner and it's been really hard not to get ahead of myself with this pregnancy. DH and I have set milestones according to weeks and appts before we purchased anything big. We have been taking it very slow out of the fear of the "jinx" but we are running out of time and milestones so now it's go time!

@jeannaqueena- I hope your appt went well this week! The next couple of weeks will go so slow while you await your big scan!

@marnief- Hooray movement!!! I've determined it's the best feeling in the world!

@knottie4978096- You make sure and take it easy! I'm glad you're staying hydrated but you need to make sure to get extra rest.

@emcarl24- I'm glad you have nothing going on! No news is good news at that stage of pregnancy! It's so strange to go from being checked weekly to getting checked only every 4 weeks! It is a blessing and a curse!

Thank you ladies for sending me good vibes this week!
A little update on me. I went to my appt yesterday and had my ultrasound done. On the way there, I called my husband and said I thought it would all be ok since I could tell our little girl had moved up since we was once again, using my bladder as a trampoline and I was right. They did several measurements to check but I am back at 3.2 cm with 0 funneling! THANK goodness! They also checked both heartbeats and fluid and all looked great. The doctor took me off of modified bed rest but told me to take it as easy as possible and to not overdue it with anything. We have another ultrasound next week just to double check but the ultrasound tech said I should be fine. She explained that your cervix length can change by the minute and they may have just caught me at a terrible time the week before. A huge weight has been lifted back off of our shoulders!
Bed rest wasn't too bad. I was already taking it pretty easy, my husband says my only job is incubation so he already takes care of a lot of the housework along with bringing home the bacon. He does not like to come home and seeing I did a lot around the house instead of taking it easy. He is amazing! But with that being said, I'm glad to be able to go to the store without feeling guilty for doing so. Apparently, babies need a lot of stuff and we don't have a majority of it so I will definitely be biting at the bit to get everything we need after my showers next month.

Better late than never!! I have arrived at my mums! We had a a crazy travel experience... We missed our flight connection so had a few days in Turkey!! But finally arrived and have even seen our new doc.

Best news my hematoma has gone and placenta has moved up and attached completely again!!!! That was more than I could have imagined.

The mentality here is very different a lot more medical and clinical than I was used to. I cried a lot after the doc appointment, happy that things are turning up, sad and letting go of everything I thought my birth would be, relief that we are out of that horrible fear stage.

I feel a little like in zombie land not really sure what to think or feel yet. Just a little dazed.

Not American football people but it is the rugby World Cup! And rugby World Cup is a big, huge deal to my husband and although I'm orgionally a football ( soccer ) fan, I do enjoy the rugby particularly the World Cup. Japan beat South Africa too, that is going to make for a pretty interesting tournament if games like that are such curve balls!!
