@ElRuby@AlyLynn07 I turned to them for suggestions on my name choices and their suggestions were so outlandish that it completely turned me off to the board. The fact that if you even try to suggest a surname as a first name warranted them jumping down your throat (at least 6 months ago it did) made me keep my name choice to myself! I hope you guys are turning the tide and being kind....unless it's an actual ludacris name. I guess this is a rant.

Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.

@dancegurl1118 I mostly vote in polls and provide suggestions when people are specific about what they want... I do struggle with not being a jerk when people suggest really dumb names (like creed was just one I couldn't resist....)
And I enjoy surnames as first names
And since we don't really get ridiculous posts on our board anymore I kind of need something to poke fun at

I try to be kind! It's tough this baby naming business... The kid's going to be stuck with it his whole life. Or at least until he's old enough to legally change it.
@JessHeppell we've only done it once since being cleared at 6 weeks (and LO is 12 weeks now). I know DH wants to, but I'm not feeling it. I know that with 'practice' it will get better, but it was not enjoyable for me the one time, and he knew it. I wasn't like 'oh, ow, you're hurting me' but I was honest about how I was afraid beforehand and he could tell during that I was just trying to get thru it. It's a catch 22 because I don't want it to be something negative, either, but also realize it won't be something that could be enjoyable unless I put in the time dealing with the negative feelings. Also, I just don't feel sexy. I feel like my body has whole other purposes, I guess. I used to put on clothes and be like 'damn, I look GOOD!' And now I'm just like 'yeah, I look good' but there's no real satisfaction in it. Its an acknowledgement of fact without any pleasure in it
I have a hang up with my bobs while BF. It's like they're a single-purpose item and if I'm hooked up to a milking machine during the day, I don't really want to deal with sexy time at night.
ETA I was going to correct bobs to boobs but decided to just start calling them the bobs instead.
I've lurked the Names thread since pp mentioned it here. Those ladies annoy me to no end. To me they sound like Sarah Palin-type SAHMs trying to act like they're worldly. "That name actually means X in Y country I can't locate on a map." "I've never had a job, but if I did, probably no one in that office would have this name because adults don't have that name." "Your rather common name sounds to me like this horrible word." "The ancient name you like is too trendy and won't hold up in 20 years."
I get the general point of the board, and agree with it, but the tone. The condescension. The pretension. My lord, there's a lot of confidence compensation happening over there!

I'm stuck hanging out with my in laws (ew) so I could use some entertainment. Where is this names board so I can go lurk? Lol
@janit368@mishmardhiono@mjschenk thanks, ladies. I know it was for the best, but I'm still sad about it. I had hoped for a vbac next time, but since he was a decent sized baby, they said they'd monitor growth next time and it would probably be a good idea to have a c section again

Under Community --> Specialty.
Maybe I'm just salty that they bad mouth the birth month clubs. J15 4Life

The names ladies are total bitches, for true. Even J15 at our snarkiest, bitchiest, most hormone-iest gif-ness could not compare to the names board on an average day. I asked them about names and they just beat the crap out of both my names and kept telling me to use the middle (James) as the first. I even went back and told them, we're not using James as the first, that's final, for many reasons, so please stop suggesting that. And still they came back at me and told me that I 'need' to use James as the first, but nobody would tell me why, except some vague grumbling about neither of my names being common. Nobody said they were speshul or you-neek (and they would have, if they thought it), they just didn't like them because the names were outside the box. I got the feeling they didn't like the fact that our names came from book characters, either
@virginiaunicorn11 are you referring to the "Tate taint" convo.... I just don't get it and never would have thought the two words would be confused haha!
...I can't stop thinking about Christmas. I just got a email from a store about "our best-selling Christine sweaters" but I thought it said Christmas sweaters and I was excited. I'm excited for Christmas morning cinnamon rolls, and letters to Santa, and paper snowflakes. Some of you are really into Halloween, but I'm a Christmas person, and it's a million times better with kids.
Ladies I seriously need you to join me on the fun and games on the name boards... The polls are fun and the ridiculousness of it all is so damn entertaining... It gives you a great outlet for any snark you may need especially when people are mean for no good reason (like commenting on the names of already born children!). Ugh people are so annoying... Except all of you

I was actually there today reading and saw that where they began to go in on that lady's daughter's name. I considered chiming in on a few but didn't want you to think I was stalking you, lol
You're right, it IS pretty fun over there. I can get my dose of eye-roll and snark but still try to be helpful. Best of both worlds. That said - the Knox / Talan / Meric name options? Oh my....
I still feel like I have no idea what LO's eating schedule is.
Does ALL day, every day count?
If it does.... That's our schedule!!
Instead of "sleep, eat, play" it's more like "eat, sleep, eat, play, eat, eat, sleep". For. Real.
LOs schedule used to be eat, play, sleep. Now its all effed up. Eat, play, be cranky, maybe sleep, eat, be cranky, maybe play, sleep for 15 minutes, be cranky, eat, maybe sleep.... I dunno what's happening to my reliable boy here
This is my favorite quote from this movie, EVER. Pretty much anytime I have a technical malfunction with a device of any kind, I say this. And each time, I love sayin' it.

We had a printer in one of the student labs in college that actually said PC LOAD LETTER when there was a problem. We would have requested it to be replaced if we all didn't think it was so damn funny.

Dying of laughter. So true.
2nd round exp 8/20/18.
AND they love the "president test." We have Barack Hussein Obama in the White House right now, for Pete's sake

Edited, I wish I could size it bigger! I can't ever figure out how to do that
