I wanna confess that until I finally looked it up yesterday I had no idea what you all meant when referring to rock and plays.

:-h I had to do this, too. :-??

  • I know I can always count on @virginiaunicorn11 to give a well thought out and reasoned reply to anything. And usually there is something in it I haven't thought of.

Yeah, @virginiaunicorn11, have you heard of ask.metafilter.com? It's a question-answering site I am also a member of and I think you would be really appreciated there, too.
  • ^^^^agree to all of the above posts about @virginiaunicorn11
  • Aw, thanks ladies!! I just cried to DH about how I feel all our moves may be the wrong decision and I already miss Grandma. And here you are, cheering me up. So sweet, thank you!

@mellymar You've always reminded me of a very good friend of mine, named Erin. Your similarities are uncanny, except she never married or had a baby. I see you as her sliding door. Have I already told you this??

@ChardeeMacDennis interesting, will check that site out, thanks!

@MaliKaela DH met up with some of our couple friends without me a few weeks ago. Later, the husband told DH that his wife said, "The first time he brings out his phone to show baby pictures, I'm leaving."
He told DH because they were so impressed it never happened. But they're TTC so their day will come, the jerks! ;-)
Hopefully your supervisor isn't having trouble TTC... And actually, my friend Erin hates babies but is a nice person. So maybe your supervisor is one of those.

Maybe I'm your Erin in bizzaro bump world .. Only because I'm Erin
    :D
  • @HayesRN13 you're my SIL if she was her nice self full-time! She's a nurse who calls it like she sees it, and takes no prisoners with stoopid

I've made several of you online versions of my favorite people. And many others are the friends I wish I had or have lost touch with IRL.

Yesterday at BuyBuyBaby, a mom with twins was talking to me. A) I had terrible stage fright about what not to say, and still put my foot in my mouth (ugh, I asked if twins run in her family - no. "So they must have been a fun surprise?!" "Well... I had to have help, so I knew I'd probably have multiples.") and B) I almost said, "Are you a J15 Bump Mom?!" but then realized her babies are only 2 months old so probably not. She was super nice though.

@hoodoll82 I usually say pretty quickly, "Our rule is you take the baby if you want him, or you give him back or don't take him, if you don't want him."
  • I have no idea how old l/o is...I mean I know but I'm confused. Lol She's 3 months according to me. She was born June 16 and it's now Sept 18. The Bump says she's only 2 months and 4 weeks. I know they have to go by weeks, but is my l/o really 3 months or so I need to stop saying that she is?!

Sorry if this is dumb (Ha!) we had major storms all night so we didn't sleep. Did catch a few giggles on camera though.
  • I think the bump is wrong with that stuff. I'd say your LO is 3 months too haha.

  • @mellymar Ok good! That's how I do it too. Whew...I'm glad you understood my train of thought!
  • @virginiaunicorn11 No, not ttc. She's probably in her 50's with two grown children she has told me about. And I listened nicely, silently wishing she would ask about my child. It sounds so lame to admit "out loud," but darn it, she's really nice and she should be interested in my super awesome baby!

I do months and weeks by Thursdays. Thursday to Thursday = 1 week. 4 thursdays = 1 month. Any other way just doesn't make logical sense to me. I know some months are longer and some shorter, but there is still 52 weeks in a year. I was really confused about this for awhile and just decided to go with that.
  • The what would you say if someone asked you thread makes me sad. Since LO was breach and I had a scheduled c section, other than some intense Braxton Hicks, I didn't get to experience the excitement of true labor. I know it was probably painful and scary, but I'll never know. I don't even want to click on it. For the most part I'm glad for the c section and have made peace, but sometimes I still feel betrayed by my body
  • @KarasTwin that's hard. Motherhood is so full of expectations that we all cannot possibly fulfill. It can be overwhelming sometimes

Same here, we were induced with failure to progress resulting in c section. I had some contractions but only got to 4cm. I love my birth experience with LO but God I feel sad sometimes that I didn't do it, I hope next time I can have a VBAC. But the dr said my pelvis might be too small.

  • @KarasTwin I went in to be induced and only ever made it two the two I came in at before I had an emergency c section and yes I have a hard time relating to that thread as well.
  • stupid question here since i didnt see a FFFQ thread. (also looking for advice)
am i the only one here who still hasnt had sex yet post delivery?

its not that im scared or worried about the pain. i just have 0 interest in anything sexual right now, i dont feel attractive, i hate the way i look, im attached to this baby practically 24/7 (we cosleep and all he does is eat in the daytime) and of course DH wants some. i dont want to give in to him and start equating sex with negative feelings.
  • @JessHeppell
I'm technically July 15, baby boy came July 3rd so I mainly lurk around here. Anyway no you are not alone, thought I was...LO was 11 weeks yesterday and we still haven't done it. For all the same reasons as you. Even if we did decide to start something (although he's as exhausted as I am) we are both scared of having LO wake up crying in the middle. And plus I am scared of boob leakage for some reason, I think that would be even grosser than how I look.
  • @JessHeppell i haven't.. Lo just turned 3 months on the 17th. I just don't feel like it, and we didn't have sex much at all while I was pregnant so it's been a long time! Tomorrow is our 7 year dating anniversary so I think I might have to do it finally
  • No nookie here and we are 2 days away from 3months.

I'm tired don't feel like it and he works all day and can barely stay awake long enough to spend time with the baby when he's home.

    Eventually we will get there...
