Re: Is this normal? Symptoms thread!!

  • I went for a run last Saturday and had a tiny bit of pink spotting afterward. The same thing happened the week before, but I wasn't even sure it even happened because it was such a tiny amount. But the second time I got a little scared. No more running for me until my next appointment and I can make sure things are okay. Has anyone else experienced exercise-induced spotting?

  • @LArunnergal I have been running but WAY more slowly than usual. My OB told me that I shouldn't let my  heart rate get above 160 during first tri. Does your doctor's office have a nurse line you can call? I would do that, just for the peace of mind/to see what they say!

  • I'm almost 12 weeks as well and pretty much symptom free! I had about a one week period where I felt a little queasy and dizzy but that was it. Reading everyone's posts makes me feel pretty lucky!!! Glad we are in the same boat!
  • I feel you...prayers for you to start feeling better wish I had good advice...God bless you and BEST wishes
  • @kyleec89 @megmusic SO relieved to see that I'm not the only one having this problem! I had to leave work yesterday, because my heart started racing and I felt like I was going to pass out. I'm still feeling pretty weak and jittery today but so far no more heart racing.
  • Is this still active? It's perfect, because it's exactly what I came here about.
I'm at 11.5 weeks on my 'first' baby, and I'm always overheating, my head always feels really heavy, and (I assume consequently) I'm always dizzy.
I eat healthy and drink water throughout the day, but I've been to the ER twice already, although they say the baby looks healthy.
Is this normal for anyone else? ._.

Anyone feel like their blood sugar is out of wack? After I eat I get shaky, my heart races, and I get dizzy. Sometimes I have to lay down because I feel like I could pass out. This happened pre-pregnancy, too. Maybe it's blood pressure. Who knows.
I feel the same, except for when I don't eat, and I don't even mean I haven't eaten in hours. It's like I constantly have to be putting something in my stomach. I was like this before pregnancy too, but it I was able to go longer without eating.

  •  @Muggle lover Have you tried a Neti pot? It won't cure the cold, but it will help a TON with congestion and clearing sinuses. It's totally safe and natural, if not a little gross. It's also very cheap. Hope you feel better soon!
No I have never heard of that. I will have to check it out. I got by this time on the humidifier, tylenol and cough drops. It's finally starting to get better. But since it is so early in cold and flu season, I am sure I will get one again and I will definitely check out Neti pot in the meantime. Thanks!

Side note, I called my OB office and asked about what cold meds I could take and the nurse said Dayquil... I have never heard pregnant ladies could take it. I didn't because I was trying to take as little as possible but has anyone else heard dayquil is safe for pregnancy?

  • Sorry this isn't a pretty thing to mention either, but
Does anyone feel that their BO is stronger? I thought I was having phantom smells until DH pointed it out too.
I know my BO is worse during my period and now I'm scared it's going to be the same case during the pregnancy.
  • @kimey1 I actually wondered if the opposite was happening to me. I guess it's possible it could go either way.
For me, I wish it would last post pregnancy, but it won't. After my last pregnancy I went back to stinking like normal :-?

My smells change all through, and for a few months after, pregnancy.

My OB office gave me a list of OTC medications that are considered safe and unsafe. The list actually said to avoid Dayquil or Nyquil since it contains alcohol. It said any Tylenol product or Mucinex is safe. I've been taking Tylenol Sinus when absolutely necessary, and it has been helping me.

  • Im not heavily nauseous but I def need breaks lying down on my side (facing down makes it so much worse). Though I know I'm very fixated on eating, I dont think I eat that much more. And yet my stomach feels like its right under my ribcage. But I'm only 8 weeks! LOL
  • Not BO, but I have noticed that my pee smells really strong... and I'm drinking a lot of water! Ick.

  • Anyone else's face breaking out like crazy? I'm waiting for this pregnancy glow but so far I've just gotten a million and one zits!

Def breaking out, especially after eating fatty foods
  • @BreannaaaMarieee - Yes! My face and this week my neck decided to join in on the zit party. I didn't have this much acne as a teenager!

Yeah, I thought it was strange based off of everything I have read. Doesn't make me feel all that confident in my office.
I have been taking tylenol and when I really felt bad, Sudafed.

  • I take one (full) B6 tab in the morning and a one (full) unisom tab at bedtime. It has worked amazing for me.
  • Anyone else's face breaking out like crazy? I'm waiting for this pregnancy glow but so far I've just gotten a million and one zits!

Yes and I'm getting them in the weirdest places. I got one right by my lip so it looked like I had a cold sore, not cute.
  • I'm having a rough couple of days. All of a sudden my boobs stopped hurting so much and I have no cramping like I have had. I'm exactly 10 weeks and I'm so weepy that I have had a silent miscarriage. I can't see the doctor until Monday. Is this happening to anyone else?
  • I just turned 10 weeks and have noticed my symptoms have subsided as well! Breasts aren't nearly as swollen or tender and other than some pressure on my left side yesterday my cramping has gone away as well. This is my first pregnancy and I am trying not to freak out! Glad you posted!
  • Gall bladder issues anyone? Ended up in the ER last night with severe upper abdominal pain. Turns out I have a polyp on my gall bladder that needs to be monitored. They pumped me full of morphine without telling me and I was not pleased to find out when I asked why the iv fluids were making me tingle. Baby is ok though. Heartbeat of 170 and measured a week ahead of schedule- 9 weeks 3 days. I've had severe morning sickness for weeks so of course I vomited around 5am, but haven't gotten sick since going to sleep after which worries me. I'm still queasy but I can't tell if it's the after effects of morphine or if it's still morning sickness. I just want to get out of the first trimester safely. I have to have a cerclage at 12 weeks and just want to get past all of this and know that I'll get to hold my baby.
  • I've been having diarrhea all day today and now I'm having back pain. Should I be worried?
  • Does anyone have a combination of starving days and days with no appetite? I'm worried I am not eating enough on these no appetite days.
  • Yes I've had that. When your not hungry I would still eat and when you do maybe try something healthy that's good for the baby
  • Does anyone have a combination of starving days and days with no appetite? I'm worried I am not eating enough on these no appetite days.

I feel the same this week. Have tons of small snacks around ready for days you feel ravenous. On those days you'll eat everything you can get. I keep cheese, nuts, fruit, & veggies ready at all times. On days you don't feel hungry try to have smaller potions or a few bits every few hours. That will keep some food in your body for both of you.
  • I cannot stand all of this excess saliva. I don't remember having this my first pregnancy, but it is driving me crazy. Anybody else? How do I get rid of it?
  • I feel like for the most part up until today I have had all the supbtle symptoms that people don't talk about as much (only very occasional nausea, only threw up once before today when I was around 7 weeks, I'm 11 weeks now, excess saliva, burping and hiccuping...)

And then today I projectile vomited in a parking lot as a family unloaded their groceries near by. And I've been in bed all day since with a horrible migraine.
  • @kyleec89 I am having the same extra saliva problem, but have no idea what to do about it. It is really annoying. Feels like I need to spit all the time.
  • I'm 11 weeks today and thankfully I haven't had any morning sickness. Although, I have had to start using children's toothpaste vs regular. It makes me sick. Last night was the first night I've experienced what I believe to be acid reflux/indigestion. I felt like I needed to throw up but couldn't, it just felt like everything was sitting at the bottom of my throat. I propped myself up on some pillows to relieve some of the discomfort. Anyone else experienced symptoms this early?
  • @adrimidas I'm the very same as you, it's my first pregnancy and I'm questioning every little feeling. I'm 12 weeks now and I was the very same as you, at about 9 weeks my nausea went away but I was still insanely hormonal and my breasts were still very sensitive. The nausea came back though last week so everything sounds normal :)
  • Hey everyone, this is my first post and my first pregnancy. I'm only 12 weeks pregnant and I haven't had my first scan yet, it's scheduled for October 5th! I've been experiencing some pretty intense pain in my pubic area and it sounds a lot like the whole "lightning crotch" thing but is it not too early to experience that yet? I'm probably over thinking but it actually feels like I've been kicked in the crotch and I'm so nervous there's something wrong..
  • @mammyvoodoochild I first experienced it in my 4th and 5th weeks. On medical info sites they say it happens throughout the pregnancy, even in the 3rd trimester. I wouldn't know because I'm only 8weeks now. Hang in there mama. Look forward to good news from your first doc visit :)
  • Yes, felt just like period pain in weeks 5-7, went away by week 8 for me.
  • This is Tmi but my discharge has been normal up until today. Of course it would wait until my schedule check-in call with the nurse yesterday.

When I wipe I get huge globs of thick sticky discharge. It's a very dark yellow, almost brown. I am putting a call into my doctor this afternoon, I definitely don't remember this from DD. If I was 38 weeks I might think this was my mucus plug.

  • I think the oddest symptom for me is getting hungry so suddenly that sometimes I can't tell whether its heartburn or just feeling like I could eat a whale all of a sudden!
  • Yes @kimey1 ! I've tried to explain this feeling to my hubby.... I call it urgent hunger, meaning I need to eat right then and there or things are gonna get ugly. Lol! :)
  • @melliemamma DH is getting used to my monstrous eating habits and is helping by stocking some snack foods or leftovers because he knows they'll disappear by the time he wakes up. LOL
  • Currently 9 weeks today.. Since I hit week 8 I'm still nauseous but I have this uncontrollable need to gag every 5 minutes. EVEN IF I'm not feeling nauseous, or I haven't smelled something that makes me run for the hills I gag. I'll just be sitting there watching tv then I randomly gag. It's like I have Tourette's but for gagging :/ so you can imagine how ridiculous I look walking around gagging at nothing lol and so many boogers since week 8!!
