how many times a day does your lo eat.  I feed on demand and max is totally playing mind games with me.  some days he will eat 8 times, some days 7 and yesterday only 6.  he's peeing and pooping ok and he's gaining weight, but only in 25% for height and weight (which pedi said is fine). 

But i can't help but worry that (1) he's not eating enough and (2) by not eating that often he's lowering my supply.  i started out with an oversupply which thankfully has mostly regulated (it gave him terrible gas).  so now i am fearful of having a low supply.  most of the time when i pump i can get 6-8 oz, but for the past few days its only 3 or so.  i've been sick with a sore throat and now i'm totally stressed over his eating, so that might be affecting it. 

its always something with this bf thing!!!!!

Mine is also 25 percentile for height and weight. He eats about 8 times a day (7 if he skips his night feed). With us, he never eats for long. Right now we're about 12-15 minutes on average. I think the longest time he's spent eating ever was 30 min. as a newborn.

I figure as long as he's gaining weight, making wet diapers, and hitting developmental milestones he's okay.

My pumps are usually between 3-4 oz total, so I'm jealous.

i had the same thing happen when i had mastitis, my supply tanked.  your supply can definitely be affected by stress so go drink some beers and dont stress.  C is only in 25% for weight, and we realized my supply was tanking when he dropped to the 10th, but now he is back up to where he should be.  i FFFFFRREEAAKKEEDDD out.  I took reglan, and now all is ok.  I also started drinking like a bazillion more glasses of water.  do you drink enough?  it will be ok, dont worry.

i seiously, no lie, drink over 100 oz of water a day.  i think i'm just stressing and need to chill a bit

hey! ?my LO eats 7-8 times a day. ?one day last week i think she ate 9 times. ?i also feed on demand. ?she started in daycare two and a half weeks ago and i too have been worried that she hasn't been getting enough! ?i've been giving her 3-3.5 oz bottles but she takes all of them so i'm thinking that i should up the amount per bottle...

i usually pump 2-3 times at work and get 5-9oz depending on how long i've waited to pump. ?i'm also constantly worried that she's not getting enough b/c she only eats on one side, and she's also in the 25th percentile. ?

i bet you're sore throat is affecting your supply, if you're pumping less. ?but on the other hand, if the baby seems happy and satisfied, i wouldn't worry too much! ?i feel like we overthink things sometimes!?

DS right now is probably 12 times, lol. he's either teething or going through a growth spurt. I never really count normally. He just always wants to eat.

Pumping goes down when you regulate, plus when baby nurses they get more than a pump. You stressing and being sick doesn't help. Keep up on water and that will help.

I was just trying to figure out how many times a day Stasa eats.  I think it's anywhere from 6-8 times.  Could you pump if Max goes too long between feedings?  I had to do that this morning and ended up with another full bottle for daycare. (I just shuddered as I typed the word daycare).

We are at 6 or 7 feedings a day and STTN(10pm-6am). When I had a fever my supply dropped big time. But, it came back as soon as I started to feel better. DD didn't seemed fazed by the low supply those days. At my pedi apt this week I addressed how she seems to be eating less, number of times per day that is. The pedi said thats normal and not to worry about it.

Jude eats 6 or 7 times a day, for about 40-60 minutes long. I am constantly worrying if he is getting enough. He has plenty of wet and dirty diapers though, and he is growing at a normal pace. He was in the low percentiles to begin with, and he continues to be so, but he has managed to climb a couple points. My breastmilk production teeters on low. Water makes a huge difference, and I have to drink 100 oz of so a day to keep my supply up.

thanks ladies for the support.  max always seems content and only eats from one side as well.  i'm just gonna roll with the punches and monitor my supply.

Kiddo eats 8-10 times a day, but he rarely goes more than 5-8 minutes a time.  Sounds like he's doing fine.   Being sick might have made your supply dip a bit but it sounds like it's still fine.  For a while I was really worried he wasn't getting enough since he would eat so quickly - but he's gaining and has plenty of dirty dipes so I decided I had to chill!

DD eats 5-6 times a day, sometimes only for a few minutes. She's in the 90th percentile (at least was at her 2 month). We go for her 4 month this week...
