Last night LO passed out unexpectedly at 6:00, and I wasn't sure what to do about changing him into jammies. At 11:00, he woke to nurse so I took the opportunity to "stealthily" change him.
I put him into one of DH's old PJs so we could take pictures in the morning... But it was dark and I didn't realize there were no snaps down the front. I got LO's head through, but couldn't get his arms through - totally stuck!
LO woke up, gave me a funny look, then just started giggling. It made me laugh, too, and for the next 5 minutes, as I tried to free his arms, we were both just cracking up! Obviously it riled him up and took another hour to get him back down, but he was in a good mood and that moment was totally worth it.
The other day I was talking to LO and all off a sudden he let out a string of really loud farts. I started laughing and he got the biggest smile. It was a funny moment, and probably one of many inappropriate "bathroom" humor moments with my son!
So we have been trying different diapers, and I had LO in some Luvs diapers which don't have the pee indicator line. Since he is a champion pee-er, I just go ahead and change him almost on a schedule - before a meal, after a meal, after about 45 minutes after a meal, after a nap - and he has always had a wet diaper but the Luvs are so absorbant LO doesn't notice it (or doesn't seems to). Well, DHs method is to sniff the diaper to see if it smells like pee (I don't know why he bothers, it always smells like pee, cause he has always peed) and then change him. So on Friday DH has his nose down there doing a sniff test, and LO let's out a huge fart in his face. Bwahahahahaha, I almost died laughing! ) and LO sees me laughing and starts grinning and waving his arms and kicking, thus barely missing kicking DH in the nose as he recoils from the fart. It was great... Lol
I actually really love Luvs. I just got a box of pampers and they suck. Not as much as huggies sucks, but Luvs hold pee SO well. She always blows out poops but I think that's more of a user error than the diaper
Edited to add a rave not just a commentary on diapers: today I sat LO on the couch next to the dog and watched her "pet" him. She was feeling his fur and it was so cute. Poor guy is going to have to stay away once she gets mobile.

Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
Yesterday I drove to visit family by myself with LO. I hit traffic, which turned the trip into three hours (!) instead of the expected 2. I almost turned around one hour in to go home, but realized what a predicament I was in. Stuck too far from either place. No way was LO going to make it.
Well, she slept soundly all three hours!
And then slept the entire drive back later the same day! I thought she'd had too much sleep to be that lucky again.
It's been rough around here but it would be so much worse if LO wasn't just the best. His smiles and laughs make not sleeping for more than an hour bearable. I could look at his face all day.
The other night I was walking around with LO and was stroking the back of his head while he was drifting off. He had his arm on my shoulder and was stroking me back. It was so sweet!!
My LO laughed for the first time a couple days ago, and has laughed a few times since! It is the cutest thing ever. Also, he is in a good mood more and more. The supermarket cashier yesterday even commented on his "easy smile". He was also pretty well behaved during our big move this weekend. We moved down to Oregon, about 4 hrs away from the town in Washington we had been living in. The move would have been so much harder if LO had been fussy and demanding when we were doing the hard parts, but he was actually pretty good!
After being gone a couple hours, I came home to a fussy boy. But once I picked him up and gave him a kiss he kept bobbing back for more! Then a few minutes later the headbanging for my boon started. Even though he had just eaten he still wanted to nurse. With a full mouthful he gave a huge grin and sort of melted into me with a huge snuggle. I feel like he was telling me "I missed you!" I wish his daddy could have those moments too because those are the times I fall in love with my little guy all over again!
So many of these are things my LO does, too. It makes me feel good - like how pregnancy made me feel connected to every mother who ever existed, but also felt very special and uniquely mine at the same time.
A friend said, "Pregnancy is the most normal and yet most special time." I didn't realize it would extend to post partum, and I'm so grateful. It's so reassuring.
LO has been so sweet while we've been on vacation. Only cried once on the 7 hour drive down and that's cause he went 4 hours between bottles instead of 3 since he was passed out. He also had a poopy diaper. He's either slept or just sat in his car seat and smiled and cooed. He loves the beach. It's going to be so hard leaving him to go back to work on Monday
I took LO out to the bowling alley this evening (this trip warranted both a love and frustration discussed in FFFC) and as I was talking to some people after the meeting, he was being a total charmer! Smiling, talking, making cute faces. It was me and 4 other ladies of all various ages (an gray haired old timer that i know is a grandma and a gal i know is at least 10 years younger than me) standing around him sitting in his car seat which was sitting on a chair. He was just looking all around and grinning like a fool. He looked like he was thinking 'Boobs! Boobs everywhere!'
Took LO to her first high school football game. We sat away from the band for fear of noise, but she did AMAZING. We were out way past her bedtime but she was up & happy & watching everything. This little girl loves her some football
Our little guy has been waking us up with giggles in the morning! We bring him into bed for some more sleep or cuddles, and end up just kissing his little face off rather than going back to sleep.
LO slept in the crib last night!! From co sleeping to the crib without much hassle... I love this little boy! I was so stressed for nothing. He also woke around 4am fussing and got himself back to sleep without me going in there. I'm so proud. Nothing can ruin my day today!
^^^jealous. I've had one 8 hour stretch in 12 weeks. How I long for one of those sleep filled nights. DS didn't STTN until 8 months so I'm desperately hoping we get there sooner than that. [-O<
I left LO home with hubby last night for three and a half hours while I went to tutor. Apparently LO screamed for most of the time I was gone. As soon as I got home, LO's face lit up and he gave me the biggest smile, and then smiled and laughed and talked to me for the rest of the night. I don't love that he wasn't good for DH, but it makes me happy that he loves me so much. And added bonus that DH now understands how hard it is to be a mom and take care of a baby all day! He waited on me hand and foot all evening and kept telling me what an amazing mommy I am.

LO finally laughed! Baby giggle are the best. Of course, it was at DH but he does have funny eye brows so I can't blame him. We refer to him as Eye Brows and I'm Boobs. Eventually it will be Mom and Dad, but right now that's what she cares about.
After my day yesterday which seemed to conspire against me and had me feeling stretched pretty thin and tight, LO gave me his first fairly official sleep they the night. He slept from 1030 to just after 6, which he let me extend a bit to 640 with use of his paci. Still pretty early, but not stupid early, not so early that I could just go ahead and get up and start out day. Hooray, sleep
LO gets some good stretches of sleep, but last night he slept 9:15 till 5 this morning, I fed him and he fell back asleep so I snuggled him till I had to get ready for work, then he slept through a diaper change and being loaded up in the car. Slept all the way to work with me where my mom was picking him up (hour and 15 minute commute) and only woke up when I took him out to show him off to coworkers. He was smiling and laughing at everyone and only fussed when he got hungry.
After a rough night of both LO and I being sick, she woke up all smiles and coos. She talked to her animals in her bouncer chair for at least twenty minutes. I'm glad someone is happy it's morning.
God you guys are good keeping up with all of these threads. I'm new to this one too. I just had to share...after 12 weeks of not doing much, LO looked at a toy, grabbed it, and brought it to her mouth. Then she played on her play may for over 30 minutes. I mean really played. Kicking, swatting, grabbing, and smiling up a storm. This is the start of some great fun. I am such a proud mama.

@HayesRN13 did you ease him into it? Or just started? I want to do it because sometimes I spend so much time getting her to sleep its exhausting for me!
Re: Positive baby thread.. No rants just raves :)

The car is magical and my baby was awesome.

I love how my LO has started launching himself at my boob when he knows he's about to get fed. He gets so excited about his food! Cracks me up!

(Don't want to let this thread suffer a Page 2 fate...)
@HayesRN13 that face!! So cute!
