DD did great her first time in the pool. She cried at first, but then loved being swished around. She took a quick 30 minute nap in the lounge chair, then woke up smiling!
Two baby raves - 1) His ever changing napping during the day routine is adjusting around to one longish nap mid-morning, and I was able to take a mini nap today after getting some breakfast and doing some stuff. So, thanks little dude for taking a longer nap this morning 2) he always starts his meals with a boob session, followed by his formula. While he is on the boob, he always reaches his hand up, and grabs the top of my tank top and holds on. Like he is trying to pull me closer, or make sure I can't pull away. That little hand holding my shirt...I could die
1.)LO has taken almost a 3 hour nap. Woke up a couple times to eat but we have been laying on the ottoman together just snuggled and him sleeping, me tv lounging. It's been a very enjoyable afternoon. I decided we are just spending the whole day enjoying the day and not doing housework or errands. So far I am loving it! 2.)After a hard day of teething yesterday and LO was so upset he finally calmed down enough to nurse. When he realized "milk" was in his mouth he got the biggest smile and smashed his face into my boob and all night was so snuggled up. Even though I didn't sleep well it was so cute how much he wanted to be right next to me all night. Makes me fall in love all over again during those moments!
LO has started extending an arm/hand out to people. He will "stroke" my grandmother's face when he sees her. And when DH brought LO into bed with us this morning, LO "stroked" my face for like 10 minutes while I was in and out of sleep.
Earlier this evening LO woke from his evening 'nap' (nap isn't quite the right word, but it will do here), and started to fuss. I was caught off guard because he usually doesn't wake until I move him. Suddenly I'm scrambling to prepare everything for bedtime - dishes into the kitchen, boppy up to the bedroom, make his bottle of formula, quick pee break. It doesn't take very long (just a few minutes), but its late (for LO, anyway), LO is tired and hungry and he's just not having it. He begins to cry big time. Samurai, who was on the couch while LO was in his rocker on the floor, jumps off the couch and goes to the other side of the room, but watches intently. I come back to get LO and bring him upstairs to change him and feed him, and Samurai follows. Watches intently while I change LO (and he is still crying mightily). Follows us into the bedroom and watches intently as LO and I settle in for his bedtime feeding. The whole time from start to finish, watching with his 'worried' look on his little furry face. Once LO stops crying, he hangs out a couple of minutes, then leaves and goes downstairs to snack on some crunchies that I put out while I was making LOs bottle.
I absolutely believe he was worried because LO was crying so hard, and wanted to make sure LO was OK.
LO is most certainly having gum pain/teething/teeth moving ?! Who knows. Anywho...... He was so irritable and we couldn't make him happy last night so I turned on Andy Grammars song "Honey I'm good" and DH and I started singing and hopping around like complete idiots...... Then after that we sang Joe Diffie's "John Deere green" to him. It was a family moment so joyful I could cry.

Isn't it crazy how quick pets accept LOs? I've got a similar rave! I was worried about our dog, Shana, accepting LO as part of the 'pack' but I knew it had happened when my mom sent me a pic when babysitting. She had gone downstairs to warm up a bottle and LO was crying in her crib, Shana got very concerned and lay in front of the crib staring at LO until my mom got back. She then took her normal post behind our nursing chair in the nursery!
Now a LO rave - baby girl is sick, one of the many with a cold! But she's still her happy lovely self full of smiles and coos. I'm a very lucky mama!
@klkonwi I swear, we're living parallel lives. DH is fed up with work and keeps saying we're going to move to the Midwest and be farmers.....ya'll need any help?
Oh my gosh! Hilarious! If only! We have too many boys and not enough farm ground dang it! For sure the farming is lucrative in this area though! Land prices are ridiculously high. The land around my DH parents house sold for 1.1 million...... Who has that kind of money?
I love seeing LO's face light up when he sees his reflection in the mirror. Also when he starts mean mugging the baby in the mirror who has his blankie! It's so funny!
LO has been having a wake period around 4:00-5:00 am. After a while, I will lay down and put him on my chest. He whines a bit, looks around, then pushes up, sees me right up close to his face, and bursts into a huge grin and coos at me!
It makes me laugh every time, then I whisper, "Shh, I love your smile, but we are supposed to be sleeping!"
DDs night sleep schedule got so thrown off in Mexico. I felt like I had a newborn again. We got home last night, and she fell right back into STTN. 9-4:30! One happy momma here!
So I finally decided to get a kick piano and he loves it played for 20 minutes with it wahoo that's seems like forever and will help this momma during our long periods of being awake!!!
LO thinks it's the funniest thing ever when someone sneezes (the real ones and the fake of course), he let's out the biggest deep belly laugh. It's priceless.
Yesterday mine learned how to do raspberries and has now incorporated it into her sad and happy sounds, it's so funny.. She also likes going back and forth with her making the noise and then I'll make it back, then she does it again..it goes on for a long time! It's so cute yesterday I left her in her bouncy seat in the living room for a couple minutes while I did something and when I came back she was practicing it by herself haha..again..so cute
I was lying face to face with DD on the couch to try to get her to sleep since she's been clingy lately. She was just lying there stroking my face the whole time.
I love the little hug I get from LO when I pick her up if she starts to get fussy or rescue her from her crib. She burrows her head into my chest and makes the cutest noises. I'm her safe place. I feel so blessed to have her.
If LO is crying at the beginning or end of the day, and I pick him up and move around the house with him, he always quiets. We are usually going from upstairs to down to feed him in the morning, or downstairs to up to feed him in the evening. He knows we're going off to get some food, and relaxes and sighs. His head leans in against my chest as I carry him. He's just so sure that we're off to have good things. That kind of faith rocks my heart.
Gods forbid you put him down for 30 seconds tho to get comfortable
LO normally hates being burped but I had her on my chest and she spent a good 10 minutes squawking and making talking noises at the wall behind me. I think she was talking to her shadow. It was so funny!
LO still loves me even though I took him to the doctors when he was in a perfectly happy mood. He didn't see what was coming but he got through it so well and was truly belly laughing for me for me in a way that he never has tonight.
At the risk of sounding braggy, I'm so proud of my dude, he cried for about 20 seconds after shots and has been happy or sleeping since...praying he feels ok tomorrow
Re: Positive baby thread.. No rants just raves :)

Also so glad I'm not breastfeeding. Because... Ouch!

LO found his feet. He does the yoga pose called "happy baby" all day, and it makes me irrationally excited since I used to do a lot of yoga.
Gods forbid you put him down for 30 seconds tho to get comfortable
Cried for 10 sec then resumed happy.
But.................pregnancy sucked though so I consider this just a nice kickback from that ?!?
