  • @Court11152325 girrrrrl I've been waiting for those days of darkness since I was a little kid! My mom (who all into this type of stuff) had this booklet when we were kids and I read it and one of the things it talked about was 15 days of darkness while the world goes through another dimension shift. Something like that. Every once in a while it comes up again (Planet X , comet, etc) and I think one of these days it will be true cause it's too much. They repeat it too much!

  • Agreed @Daphneh28 hubs and I have a deal. As soon as the other is infected we kill them. It would be hard. But watching them change would be worse.
  • The question is: do you kill your SO/friend/family/etc right when they get infected or wait until the end is close?
  • The question is: do you kill your SO/friend/family/etc right when they get infected or wait until the end is close?

My husband would never get infected. So I'd be the one getting killed. I'd say for the safety of my kids i'd want him to do it right away. But I may want to attempt amputation first if that's a viable option.
  • We are team right away. So you can say good by and remember them as "alive" hubs just said " don't worry babe, I'll kill you quick" hmmmmm should I worry? LOL
  • I have an irrational fear of fish and water creatures and ocean type animal things.  I have a recurrent nightmare that I am happily swimming in a deep, dark and dirty pool.  I look down after a while of swimming and see huge shadows and prehistoric looking fish circling my legs.

    I mean, wtf?

  • The problem with the zombie apocalypse is that you don't know what to expect. Fast or slow zombies? Quick moving or slow moving virus? If it's slow, I'd want to wait it out. Amputate if things aren't terrible, but if it's totally crappy and survival is bleak, I'd just keep the limb and end it.

That being said... I'm not sure being a zombie is such a bad gig either. Maybe DH will keep me as a pet and then cure me when the antidote is found??!!
  • Yes, I just spoke with DH and he has changed our plans. I can drink expensive champagne but he wants a ridiculously expensive bottle of whiskey. That way he won't be afraid to fight the zombies. He doesn't want to be afraid for the zombie apocalypse battle.

Nothing like some liquid courage ;)

  • Hahah, my husband and I talk about this all the time! We too would stay at our home! They are typhoon proof, all cement with shutters on all doors and windows. I have a good stock of non perishables and we're on a military base so hopefully that would be to our advantage :)) lmao, we think about it too much, question just is what do we do when we move? New plans needed every 3-4 years!! Haha

It's a running joke in my house, you never come home without a full tank of gas. Just in case of the zombie apocalypse.

It wasn't the zombie apocalypse, but a few years ago San Diego had a major blackout (for about 20 hours) and I had an empty gas tank. All of the gas stations were closed because of the blackout, no CC machines, etc. It was the scariest feeling. Being stuck somewhere in an emergency with no gas. So... PSA... never let your tank get empty!

Yes, @grkgdss00 I was in SD when that happened, too! I was at work in Rancho Bernardo, and I lived in the college area. I got to Mira Mesa and my gas light came on -- I was convinced that I wasn't going to make it home! Totally second that PSA.

Ps. Being in the college area, everyone went to the liquor store that night (which stayed open and was taking cash). I'm pretty sure most of San Diego was hungover the next morning.

These are good questions @BostonBaby1 and goes off what Pp said. You never know what you are going to get with zombies. Some are to stupid to use a door knob, so a simple door would be enough. If they "herd" you have a problem. Their strength in numbers will push down doors, windows etc. and from what I gather, newer zombies are stronger than ones that have been around awhile.

It's so scary! I wonder if bomb resistant glass is enough? Maybe I need to switch out my windows for a bulletproof?
  • @BostonBaby1 I think you are on to something. The Canadia is dangerous in a quiet, sleeper kindof way. Yes, Canadia, I am on to you.
  • Ya know - with as much store looting they do in the TWD you'd think they would have found some kind of baby carrier at some point and not have to carry that baby around in a basket...

Maybe I should stock up now on a baby carrier and a toddler carrier just in case!
Right or found some kind of way to tie her to their backs. I do think I remember seeing a few times she was in some sort of pouch carrier, but mostly she is held in their arms.

Baby on back sounds dangerous, what if a zombie got to her without you noticing?

Well the person carrying the baby would not be at the back of the pack. In my group whoever is carrying the baby will be in the middle. Safe from all sides. And I think only carrying the baby on the back for long walking trips only would be best.

And definitely in a group situation only, if it was only two people I think it could still get dangerous

Well of course. I plan on having a pack. Like TWD originals that have stuck together all this time.
  • I work with a girl who has this theory that the only people who will be immune to the zombie apocalypse are Type 1 diabetics. She is, and she thinks that the mutation that creates zombies will require some sort of insulin or something to survive, so Type 1 diabetics (bear with me....I am no expert on diabetes) will be immune because they don't have that insulin in their body naturally? She talked about it for awhile and I was fascinated with how sound and well thought out it was.

I'm in the irrationally afraid of dinosaurs camp. When I was in the first grade I was sure that a dinosaur would come out of the toilet if I flushed it in the bathroom by myself at school. So I would flush and run as fast as I could. Jurassic Park and Jurassic World freak me out to this day.

You should ask her how does she plan on living without insulin? I mean I know type 1 doesn't make their own insulin but she still has to use insulin or she will die. And when the grid dies and there is no electricity how will the reserve insulin survive? It has to be refrigerated. If she is correct in her theory she won't last very long and will die a very painful death. I mean just being a realist here but without her synthetic insulin, she will go blind, then her limbs will slowly start dying off, and if the infection doesn't kill her first then her kidneys will shut down and her own body would poison her to death. Just saying.

This conversation happened years ago, but I think she actually had that covered. Or maybe she was just satisfied knowing that when she died of lack of insulin that she would mutate into a zombie like everybody else, so she wouldn't conrtibute to the madness.
  • I'm so screwed. I have tons of allergies to medicines and my PCP thinks I'm joking about stockpiling antibiotics for bugging out.

Is anyone else facing resistance on this front?
