Pregnacy symptoms neg test

I stopped my brith control alittle over a month ago. I never has perioss on my birth control. This week I have started to have early pregnancy symptoms such as nausea, tender breast, mood swings (I just want to cry all the time), and acne. I have taken 3 pregnancy test but they all came back negative. Is it possible to be pregnant and having symptoms but to early to detect on a at home test? I know they can be symptoms of pms but I never felt this way before I started birth control. The only time I felt this way was with my first child but I was 9 weeks along.

If your symptoms were pregnancy related then you would be able to get a positive test.  You just went off BC and more than likely it's related to this.  Your period can take a bit to get back on track after stopping BC.

  • Your hormones are probably all messed up due to coming off BC.

It can take a while.  Sorry you're uncomfortable right now, but you're not pregnant.

  • I had pregnancy symptoms and tested 3 times getting bfn's but I knew I was pregnant. I tested today and got my BFP!! It's definitely possible to get negatives bc it's still be too early to test and then get a BFP. :)
  • Also I barely got my iud removed on September 2nd, ovulated on September 6th and got my bfp today on the 15th. So pregnant within 2 weeks. It's definitely possible. Good Luck!
  • I have been pregnant 4 times. Each time my temps are about a degree higher, my nose gets runny, and I feel twingy pulling cramps and a dull aching in my lower back. I only get this when pregnant. I knew I was pregnant. I am very in tune with my body I can pinpoint when I ovulate just by feeling it. When I am not pregnant my body temp goes back down to normal after ovulation and it did not. I knew at 3dpo that me egg was fertilized. Waited for implantation bleeding to happen and it did at 6dpo and now i have a bfp at 9dpo.
  • Also I had non hormonal iud.

    1) you still can ovulate with an IUD. However, hormonal birth control prevent ovulation. That is how you got pregnant asap.

    2) pregnancy symptoms are caused by HCG. With does not occur until after the embryo implants itself in the uterus. Soooo. You could not be feeling 'pregnancy symptoms ' prior to this. You and PP may have been feeling progesterone. Which is the dominant hormone after ovulation. It can cause nausea, vomiting, sore breast, bloating..... if both pregnant and not pregnant women.

This^ also, I'd like to add that no birth control (outside of surgery) is 100% effective. I've gotten pregnant with an iud in place. I've known 2 women that have gotten pregnant on the pill. @carrascobaby4 Your argument is kind of invalid.

I know women can get pregnant on bc. I don't get where I argued or said anything about not being able to get pregnant on bc??
  • I was just giving my experience and saying you can get a negative test for testing too early and then get a positive when the hcg levels go up.
  • She stopped birth control under a month ago like me is why I even brought it up. Saying she could still get a bfp.
  • I would say if they all say negative, you aren't pregnant. Unfortunately our womanly bodies just have a way of acting crazy sometimes.  I would thank the birth control for that - you do tend to go through a withdrawl, of sorts.

  • If you're pregnant you will have a positive pregnancy test. If not, you won't. I fail to see why this is such a hard concept to understand. If you're not pregnant 'enough' to turn a HPT then you're not pregnant 'enough' to have symptoms. Test every week until BFP or AF shows.

I felt the sore breasts every cycle when I was in the TWW. And bloating. Lots of bloating.

  • Wow! I usually don't feel my babies move until 14-16 weeks. You all are wonderfully empowering! Why not just respond to the lady's question and say you might not be but it is possible you will get a bfp in a few days? Instead you all give negative responses. Like you know others and their symptoms. And what is NOT happening to them. Why troll? I wish you all Beautiful Healthy Pregnancies! ❤️

The OP basically asked if she is pregnant which is against TOU anyways. There's no nice way to say what everyone is saying. Why sugarcoat it? I didn't see any trolls... Have a great day! :)

  • Maybe? Not to knowledgable on what everything is. Weird how I only get these symptoms when I get pregnant and not after I ovulate and don't get pregnant. In 10 years only the 4 cycles where I conceived do I get these symptoms.

You are not every pregnant woman in the world. Every woman and every pregnancy is different (with the exception of you apparently).

  • I definitely understand that just because an egg is fertilized does not mean that you are pregnant. You are pregnant after implantation and hcg levels rise.

Early symptoms are very real to many woman not just me. Thanks for the info though.
  • It is not trolling to explain symptom spotting to someone. I came in here and originally replied to the OP's question. Nobody is mad at the OP for asking this question; we've all explained very simply what is going on. You, @carrascobaby4, are the only one getting heated up. But nobody is being mean. It is not insulting to tell someone that they aren't pregnant. This isn't a competition; the pregnant people on this board are no better or worse than those trying to get pregnant. Nobody is trolling, nobody is being mean.

It's annoying that people are telling her she isn't pregnant. Maybe she is... Maybe she isn't. It's almost as if women on here make it a completion for no reason. She definitely could be symptom spotting but we don't know. The answer to her question of could I be testing to early is yes! Maybe you are testing to early and it will be positive in a few days. Maybe not.

You realize your argument works both ways right? Why tell her she is if she's not?

Yes I've said that multiple times on here. I never said she was pregnant. I said it's possible.

Even surgery isn't 100%. My dear friend had a surgical tubal ligation. Two years (or so) - pregnant with her third child. Her body healed itself.

Edit to add: it is also not a competition to see who gets more symptoms, certain symptoms, or sooner symptoms. It does not make you more or less pregnant to have symptoms. It does not make your pregnancy more or less healthy to have or not have symptoms. But it is cruel to lead someone on by telling them that symptom spotting means they could be pregnant. As I've said - the waiting game is hard enough without making symptom spotting worse.
