@soxfan9968 it's kind of turned into something funny my husband and I enjoy. Wow, saying that out loud makes me feel a little lame lmao. "So, what do y'all do as a couple for fun?" "Well, we really enjoy laughing at the side effects on medicine commercials!" Hahaha
The side effects are seriously worse than the ailment most of the time. The best was there was a gout medication and a side effect was gout. Ummmmm does that mean it's ineffective???
I understand the science reasoning behind it but the ones that drive me nuts are the anti-depressants that cause suicidal tendencies! Ah!! Sleeping meds that cause suicidal thoughts... Argh!!
Hello ladies I've had a pretty busy morning at work. Its the afternoons that drag butt.
My FIL met DH at a soccer game last night and told DH he has some stuff at home for Bean. Lol- I think its cute He is so excited he is already getting stuff. This is a GUY we're talking about!

All medicine commercials are ridiculous. I know they are required to say the side effects, but damn gina! On a related note - my mom (who is a generally happy and satisfied person) started taking Chantix to help her quit smoking and she actually had the suicidal thoughts side effect and immediately stopped taking it. Scary.
Today can go kick rocks. My mind is just not prepared for a full 5 day work week.
Hooray! @bntfroggie
Sorry for the sick LOs at your house @skruhmin but I'm irrationally jealous of your beach trip. Id kill to go on one right now. I'm so over working and it's only Monday.
I'm also so ready to be a SAHM with this one and DS. I dropped him off at daycare this morning, and he was so social and pointing to things and looking at the teachers to interact with him, and they just flat out ignored him... (He was the only kiddo there). Made me super sad.
On the plus side, I seemed to feel better yesterday (more energy), and I'm feeling almost normal today. It's so strange! My bump has diminished, symptoms are all but gone, and I'm over here like... Ummmm, what's going on?

First day off in the last six days and I can't get motivated to do anything but lay on my couch and watch love it or list it on HGTV. I could really go for ice cream or doughnuts but I'm just to lazy to get up and walk the ten feet it requires to go to the kitchen. I need some motivation but just don't have it in me. I'll be picking up the kids from school in a couple of hours and I've literally done nothing.
True Life: I Am Scared To Read Any Threads About Labor
Then don't. One way or another that baby is going to come out even if you don't read anything about labor
I avoid them when I can!! Those are my thoughts exactly - no need to freak myself out this far away. I have a very high pain tolerance so hopefully that applies to birth as well. Doubtful though lol.
Ladies you will be absolutely amazed at how much your body already knows how to do. It kind of just kicks into gear when it's time. Just trust your bodies and know that women have been giving birth since the beginning of time. It's kind of in our genes. And you will do great, whatever happens.

Each body is different. I know I went into labor 8 weeks early, but my water unexpectedly broke, and by time I got to the hospital I was 5.5 cm dilated, without feeling a single contraction! Some labor for days, some for hours, some less than that! I am the biggest baby when it comes to labor- I only had to squeeze out a 3 lb baby but I was asking for the dr to let me die on the table, or to grab the forceps and PULL because I couldn't do it lol. This time, I'm asking for DRUGS!- screw that trying to be "tough girl" shit!

How many people on your own BMB could you talk about in a thread on your BMB without them knowing.... because they only drive by to make random posts?
I feel like you could do an experiment

I can deal with drive by posts as long as they're not catty. I can't stand the "give me immediate attention" posts. BUMP! Bump! No one has answered my question in the past 30 seconds BUMP!! Oh no, I'm being ignored BUMP! And then ask you to ignore them when you reply with something they don't like.
Oh- I'm in a pickle now and I know I'm going to hear it from my mother. I just posted in the gear thread- my crib that I've been saving all this time has apparently been recalled because babies actually DIED from the dropsides disengaging and falling down, trapping them- it was part of the big 1.6 million Delta recall in 2008 but of course I didn't know about it because I wasn't using the crib. I had full intentions of just immobilizing the dropsides, until I found this out. This crib has set for so long in storage, the wood has become weather warped/cracked, the pressboard bottom has gotten all mildewy, and we were just going to get a new sheet of pressboard to cut a new bottom, and immobilize the dropsides. But now I'm not so sure if its even worth all that work.
My mother already threw a fit when I said something about the drop sides- "your first child was safe in it but now because some big-wigs decide the dropsides are no longer safe that you need to fix it!? Its not law- no one is going to come and arrest you for using a drop-side crib" blah blah blah. Sorry that I'm concerned about the safety of my baby. Now to find out that the crib was RECALLED because babies DIED in my exact model, from the DROP SIDES, my mother is going to go nuts on me again. I sent her a link to the articles about the recall. Its not like I can just reorder parts for my crib anymore- they don't make it and this recall was 7 years ago. I know what her words are going to be (her favorite phrase)- "boo f*ckem whoo".
I don't know how I feel about trying to modify the crib now. And no matter what my mother is going to crab and get on my case. Do I buy new or fix my old? Is it even worth trying to?

If you remember the manufacturer call them and they should still have recall vouchers for people to get a new crib with my first my crib was 4 years old and recalled before I had my second son and the manufacturer worked with babies r us and gave us the voucher for our new crib. I would check this avenue first but if not I say new crib all the way.
@charley15 Let your mom get pissy!! That's YOUR baby and if you don't feel safe in that crib, then buy a new crib. It takes a special kind of person to try and chastise someone for wanting to keep their baby as safe as possible. For her, it's probably based more on principle more than actually thinking you shouldn't get a new crib.
I get where your mom is coming from about there being someone having something to say on every.little.thing. but in a situation like this I reckon she is probably of the "well I drank with you/smoked when I was pregnant and you're just fine" mindset (not that she did in particular, but hopefully you know what I am saying). I'd just let her be mad for a little while. She'll forget about it soon enough.
I think I may end up getting a new crib- I just get so sick of hearing my mother lol. She and my stepfather are the ones who bought me this crib. And they make sure to remind me of it too. Then I feel bad but in the end its the baby safety that's important, not whether their wallets are out money.

I'm mobile, so no gif. Just imagine Ron Weasley saying, "She needs to sort out her priorities. "
Just get a new one. I'd say immobilize it if there weren't any storage issues, but it sounds like way too much work to restore it AND immobilize. And seriously, if you want inexpensive, just go with an Ikea one for $100. Or craigslist.

Oooh, drop-side cribs are perfect for co-sleeping! You remove the drop-side entirely and push the crib up against the bed and secure it so that both mattresses are flush and tightly pressed together. It serves to extend the sleeping surface but keeps the baby safe from accidentally falling out of bed.
We had one that we used with both of my girls, but we just sold it (to another cosleeping family) right before we found out about this next baby. I'm kinda sad that they're all being recalled and not made anymore. Of course, I don't want any babies to die, but it's just a bummer that we can't find a good second-hand drop-side anymore because people get rid of them.
Anyhow, I agree that you should contact Delta, I'd be surprised if they don't offer either a fix-it kit or some sort of voucher. And then you can sell your drop-side crib to me
@flowerpower5838 I know what you're saying I don't feel safe with it now knowing that. Its just like a car recall- you find out about a recall for safety issues, you get them fixed immediately so you do die in a firey crash. I would've gotten the replacement parts had I known about it in 2008 but like I said- it was in storage, my daughter was 4 and in a toddler bed by then. I didn't think twice about it. Now that I need it, I do think about it. This crib hasn't been used in 9 years.
