  • Honestly how are some of these ladies having babies. I mean the questions they ask for ridiculous, how are they going to raise a child?!?!

    Edit: ARE* ridiculous
Sometimes it makes you think there should be a test to take before allowing people to conceive

    Hi ladies!
@red3ye Happy Birthday! Hope you enjoy yourself today! :)

@skruhmin, I love your kitchen, I'm very jealous!!

This is inevitably always the first thread I check but I see ye talking about the 9/11 thread, I thought it was an odd topic....

Anyone else's productivity being hindered because of a slight bump addiction.....???

Edit to clarify: I think the 9/11 topic is odd because it is sad. I don't have issue with people sharing their experiences, particularly as I'm not American (though I remember it well). It can actually be a healing thing to share memories of sad times. My thoughts and prayers with everyone affected and living through pain, especially today.

@skruhmin OG lunch was actually today and I must say it was the best thing I have eaten in 2 months. They have this new chicken manicotti that is really good, and they have a new pumpkin cheese cake that's was really yummy. I couldn't eat much but I got to sample everything. Awesome food, great company, my sister paid for the bill and she bought me flowers so I am a very happy woman right now. Thank you for all the well wishes people :)

PUMPKIN CHEESE CAKE?? Why am I only finding this out now?! *runs out the door to OG*

Nnnnnnope you're not.  On both counts.  My thing is if you hate TB that much then why are you still here?  Especially since we're that "jerky".  If you can't take the snark, then you know...

  • Okay so I feel horrible, I noticed a charge on our discover bill because they send an alert to my phone.  Well it came from the apple store so I called my husband and was like WTF, and he's like well I can't just surprise you huh?  Happy Anniversary, and you could hear how disappointed he was that I found out.  It honestly didn't even occur to me that it could be a present for me, I thought he was buying it for work to test out his software and wanted to let him know I got alerted.

Now I feel like I just can't have nice things.

I mean I'm a smart cookie, you could have withdrew the cash and I wouldn't have noticed, but making a big charge on our discover card hell yeah I would notice I've been running finances I know exactly what comes in and what goes out.

Hubs just called, he'll be home soon I and boldly suggested a movie and dinner date and he's down! Woohoo! March '16 should be getting commission from Olive Garden at this stage! Ever since I read about the pumpkin cheesecake, I haven't been able to get it out of my mind!

I had the pumpkin cheesecake for my birthday lunch last week and it was not my favorite. :/ I love cheesecake and love pumpkin flavored things but it was just not for me. I can't wait to hear your review.

  • Pumpkin Cheesecake

    1½ C                        Graham Cracker Crumbs

    5 Tbsp                      Butter, melted

    1 C + 1 Tbsp            Sugar

24 oz                        Cream Cheese, softened (room temperature is best)

    1 tsp                         Vanilla Extract

    1 C                           Canned Pumpkin

    3                               Eggs (at room temperature)

    ½ tsp                        Cinnamon

    ¼ tsp                        Nutmeg

    ¼ tsp                        Allspice

    Whipped Cream

    Preheat oven to 350°

Make the crust by combining the graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter and 1 tablespoon sugar in a medium bowl. Stir well enough to coat all of the crumbs with the butter, but not so much as to turn the mixture into paste. Keep it crumbly. Press the crumbs onto the bottom and about two-thirds of the way up the sides of the springform pan. You don't want the crust to form all of the way up the back of each slice of cheesecake. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then set it aside until you are ready to fill it.

In a large mixing bowl combine the cream cheese, 1 cup sugar and vanilla extract.  Mix with an electric mixer until smooth.  Add the pumpkin, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice and continue to beat until smooth and creamy.  Pour the filling into the pan.  Bake for 60 to 70 minutes (or until the top is “firm”).  The top will turn a bit darker at this point.  Remove from the oven and allow the cheesecake to cool.

When the cheesecake has come to room temperature, put it into the refrigerator (overnight is best).  Serve when cool.  Top with a generous portion of whipped cream.

  • I just want Taco Bell so bad tonight! Like I think I may end up driving 20 minutes away just to get it. Normally I wouldn't even consider it (I can't even remember the last time I had it), but tonight it is all I want to eat. We have a chipotle and a good tex nex place, but no all I want is greasy barely food Taco Bell. Stupid friends episode talking about Taco Bell.
  • Hmmm, looks like my mom is staying with me for the next week. *sigh* I don't have a great relationship with her, and for good reason. Give me patience lord, not strength.
  • Well I made *some* progress at least – managed to discover the bed and get the sheets in the wash, and got some stuff out in the attic. Still so much to do tomorrow though!

That looks amazing! I didn't mean to doubt your abilities but that before picture looked impossible to my 1st trimester mind.

  • Well, my kids are all in bed so I was planning to bump awhile. Was being the key word there. It just really breaks my heart and upsets me to read that someone has had an abortion. I was raised to think this is not okay. Especially when reasonings are so nonchalant. I wasn't ready for a child. There are more than a few women that are ready that can't. I just want to cry right now. The world just completely baffles me. :(

Someone said that here! They just were not ready. There are ways to prevent it maybe they should have tried that.
