Anyone feeling movement yet?

The reason I ask is because I haven't had my first appointment yet and I'm 9 weeks and already feeling flutters in my lower abdomen. It's always after I eat food (and I know it isn't gas). This is baby #2 for me and with my first I didn't feel them until about 13-14 weeks. Anyone else feeling anything yet?

  • Ok, I thought I was the only one feeling this!!!
  • It is possible to feel it as early as 8 weeks, but very rare. I did, but only once, just shy of 10 weeks. Once you know what it feels like (this is my 4th pregnancy) you know what it is and that it's not gas.

  • In the last 2 days I've been feeling some fluttering. But I thought I was just gas. This is also my second child and I didn't remember feeling it this early before. But I have my first appointment today so I'm probably gonna ask about it.
  • This is baby #2 for me and I felt some flutters over the weekend.  I've had gas and I know how different they feel.  I was super surprised but I did look online to see some women feel the second, third baby a lot sooner.  With DD it was more like 14 weeks.  I was laying on my back and finally relaxing and it was quiet and sure enough I felt 2 flutters.  :)  I thought I read that the baby at this stage, even tho super tiny, is rolling around in there.  No one really knows but if that's what you think it was- how exciting!

  • kt012885, once you've felt it before you know it when you feel it again. And "flutters" is a perfect description because once you feel it you wonder why people compare it to gas.

  • I've felt flutters while not pregnant. So there's that. Ya know, that feeling that feels exactly like baby moving. Oh wait that was gas. Since I wasn't pregnant when it happened. In a couple months you can claim first movement. Well even prepare a badge for you. But not yet.

This is what I was going to say. Even not pregnant I have what feels like flutters but it's just gas.

  • Half the people here think it's impossible, half think it is possible. Perhaps we agree to disagree and stop posting here. I wish everyone the best in their pregnancies.

  • It is exactly how it works and your comparison is ridiculous. Also, I'm fairly certain respecting the opinions of others on this board is part of the TOU. I'm attempting to be polite and respectful and prevent silly arguments. It would be the decent thing to do to accept the proffered olive branch and move on.

  • I agree! Which I think is exactly what I'm saying. Agree to disagree. Have a great day and a happy health pregnancy.

  • I too feel when I ovulate, not many women can, they take tests and temps. Get over it ladies some people are more in tune with there bodies than others. In any case I won't get hung up over it. We know our own minds and bodies and that's all that matters, if others want to have a good laugh about it then so be it!
  • Unbelievable. Couldn't agree more, @kimmecakes. Have a good one. :)
