Re: Is this normal? Symptoms thread!!

  • Even if you had sex on July 26th, there's a chance you could have gotten pregnant a day or two after that. It's just hard to say. FX that everything is okay!

  • Have had a bad headache now since yesterday tea time. Has hurt through the night and today my vision is a bit blurry :(
I don't usually take tablets but have had to. They arnt helping much :(
  • @kimmecakes, not sure if this can help, but I was dealing with crushing/blinding headaches a couple weeks ago and nothing would help... I finally got relief after drinking a cup of coffee. I used to get caffeine withdrawal headaches in the past, so I'd weaned myself off coffee. I didn't really want to get dependant on coffee again, but since I went back to a cup a day, the headaches have subsided.
  • Ahhhh thanks I will try going back to tea then as that's what I've cut out and I'm so off chocolate right now too. I thought it would be better to stick to juice during the day instead of my cups of tea which I'm just not fancying.
  • Hello ladies wanted to ask you all a question Im 9 weeks and, 1 day pregnant I've been worrying because I was having really bad nausea to point in throwing up and, the past 3 days I've had nothing boobs are a little sore still has anyone gone through this?
  • Can anyone else relate... I'm a 2nd time mom, and I'm noticing, if I tend to overdo it (exercise, repeat motion of bending over, giving my son a bath), I get pains in my pelvic area.  I am also experience odd stretching feeling.  With these lovely feelings, I have also been spotting (for about 5 days now).

I currently have a call into my doctor for ease of mind; hoping its just typical growing pains.

  • @selenamtz95 my doctor told me the hormones peak in the 8th week, so you may feel relief of symptoms as they level out by weeks 11/12. I am also 9 weeks and feeling some relief of the ms, but it still hits me in waves now and then. I wouldn't worry too much. At least you are no longer vomiting!

So, today I am 8 weeks and 5 days. After week 5 I thought I had cured myself.. But today I welcomed back pregnancy insomnia. Especially when my bf is not home. Taking care of a 9 year old and working midnights, mommy just wants sleep!
  • @selenamtz95 I didn't have any nausea at all, but I had horrible breast tenderness and and body aches, but since the 9 week mark I've had no symptoms at all other than my abs being sore from my body expanding and my hips hurt on and off. I'm 10 weeks today. It scared me because I thought something was wrong but we just went this morning and heard the heartbeat so everything is normal. A lot of other ladies have said their symptoms subsided by week 9-11 so don't worry, you body is getting used to baby :)
  • I'm starving all the time. I can't seem to eat enough food to get this starving feeling to stop. What will make me full and stay full?
  • I'm trying so hard to eat healthy, as I'm eating sooooo much! I feel like I have two breakfasts, two lunches and two teas!
  • @kimmecakes yes, me too! I feel like I'm doubling all my meals! But carbs (read: bagels) are pretty much all I can manage without getting sick, it's frustrating!
  • When I feel sick I sneeze! Oddness!

@roseshadow873 I have found the best thing is a combination of whole grains and protein. I have been really into breakfast burritos/sandwiches.

  • My right nipple is already leaking colostrum. It's not much, but I feel like it's super early for this.

  • Anyone else have sensitive mouth? Feels like I burned the roof of my mouth even tho I'm not eating anything hot!!!!? Noticed sensitivity to lemon/lime/acidy stuff
  • Is anyone else having Charley horses? I've been getting them a few times a day in the back of my calves. :( ugh. I'm 6w6d and I've been having it for about 5 days or so.
  • @JaysensMom sometimes charley horses can be caused by dehydration. Makes sure you're drinking plenty of water

  • Today I've been having pressure in my abdomen. Not cramps exactly, but not dissimilar. It's probably a combo of constipation and things stretching/growing, but me no likey.

  • I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and nausea has hit me HARD.  Today, I'm hungry but the thought of eating anything makes me want to throw up.  Here we go...

  • @Tippy05 I am right there with you, I can't decide which sick feels worse, hungry-sick or full-sick!

  • Is anyone else having Charley horses? I've been getting them a few times a day in the back of my calves. :( ugh. I'm 6w6d and I've been having it for about 5 days or so.

I had this with my first pregnancy, terrible Charley horses in the middle of the night.  I was told to eat a banana everyday to help avoid them.
  • I had awful all day sickness for 2 weeks straight, I couldn't even get out of bed.. Now I'm feeling okay (I'm 8 weeks tomorrow) and I'm scared that's a bad sign. Anyone have any insight on the matter?

I had similar situation. I had bad ms for weeks 5-6 then yesterday it kind of all change. I hit 7 weeks yesterday and notice the ms is almost gone. Had mild pain too and called dr. He said I should be ok and was not concern. See him this Friday for follow up u/s, hope all is well.

  • Has anyone gotten blood work done to find out they were borderline anemic? This is new for me with pregnancy. Just curious if anyone else is any my boat and has ideas on solutions?

  • @bknjn I was during my first pregnancy. My doc recommended that I eat more red meat before trying an iron supplement since they can make you super constipated.

Thank you @pinottoparenthood I'll try that.
  • @BKNJN, I always struggle with my iron count, and pills don't seem to have much of an effect for me personally. I have used encapsulated alfalfa, liquid chlorophyll, and Floradix, sometimes together, sometimes singly, and they all do more for my levels than pills, without the constipation. Just an option.
  • My midwife called me today and said my urine sample indicated I have a bladder infection, but I have no symptoms. Anybody else dealing with this? Is it more common in pregnancy?
  • Yes! I had one last week- wouldn't have known! My only symptoms were some cramps and some minor back pain- things I had just associated with being pregnant.

I have heard it is common during pregnancy since the growing uterus puts pressure on the bladder and other organs- making it harder to drain fully each time

My OB said not only are they more common, but they are also more harmful, so they are more aggressive with them. I  get them from time to time not pregnant and the last time I was at the OB they tested bc I had back pains and *slightly* burning pee for a day or so. Sounds like they try to be extra cautious.

YES! at my first Doc appointment my urine sample came back positive for a UTI. I had no idea, I figured all the peeing was because I was pregnant... Super frustrating thing to deal with on top of all the other worries we have right now
  • Hi everyone! It's so helpful to read about the symptoms we're all experiencing. I didn't see anyone comment yet about heartburn... I'm only 10 weeks, but the heartburn every day for the past week has been awful. I thought this wasn't supposed to happen until later in pregnancy? This is my first pregnancy though, so maybe I'm wrong. Anyone else experiencing this? Recommendations for relief?
  • @melliemamma I have had the same thing. It was causing a lot of burping for me and general indigestion, which was the root of my nausea. My dr suggested taking Pepcid or Zantac daily for a couple weeks. Been taking a chewable Pepcid for 3 days and I already noticed less heartburn, burping, and no nausea! She said heartburn and reflux/indigestion symptoms are normal (the acid can take longer to leave your stomach during pregnancy bc of progesterone so after eating acids can creep back up. Avoid reclining after eating, and try tums too right after eating. She said it also should get better by week 12-13.
  • I'm now 9 weeks and boobs are still sore and tender when touched but they aren't rock hard anymore like they used to be..kind of has me worried. Anyone else experiencing this??

Still have nausea/MS but seems to be confined to just mornings now and sometimes throughout the night. Worst was around 6-8 weeks so hoping it is leveling off.

Cramps were bad for me but they also stopped around 7 weeks. Those are normal as your uterus is growing.

  • Ok, anyone get a cold yet? I mean a full fledged congestion, sore throat, phlegmy cold? I just got one yesterday and had a miserable night of no sleep (and not breathing). I did a little bit of research and saw cold meds aren't really safe right now.
I have no idea what I should try and i am dreading another night of no sleep. What has helped you ladies that have dealt with this? Thanks in advance!

  • I have horrible lower back pain- it's been bothering me for about a week now. I figured this would be an issue further along, but it seems ridiculous for 11 weeks. Any tips on how to get rid of it?!

  • I haven't asked my doc yet but my sister is preggo too and she said her doc said she could take Benadryl. It isn't exactly the magic cure but could help you get some sleep maybe.
