Second time mamas- did your round ligament pain start earlier this time around? I also have strep throat right now but my hips are killing me!

Yes! My RLP started up this week. I didn't feel that until maybe week 12 or so with my 1st. I'm also having a burning / pulling feeling at my C section scar a few times a day.

  • Does anyone know what is safe to take for a stuffy nose? I currently can't breathe through my nose and someone told me that it's not good to use nasal spray in the first trimester :(
  • For allergies you can take Claritin (not Claritin D), Zyrtec or Benadryl

I use just regular saline spray- it seems to do the trick. My midwife friend said it is fine to use.
  • Neti Pot works well too if you can master it!

  • Ok symptom.... I'm ~6 weeks pregnant and keep getting mild cramps. I had. Miscarriage in June and had cramps with that too so everytime I get a cramp I have a Small freak out session and have to mentally talk my self into relaxing. Is anyone else 5,6,7 weeks along having cramps? They are like period cramps but several times a day.
  • Has anyone with a previous pregnancy had a history of spotting on and off for a long period of time? If so- did everything work out?

I'm currently 9 weeks and spotted from early 5 weeks to mid 6 weeks (they did an u/s at that point and everything looked perfect)... Spotting stopped until Friday (day after my pelvic exam) so I attributed it to that... Especially because it stopped for the rest of the weekend. Now today it's back again.

Doctors office isn't concerned because of the normal u/s and blood work but that was almost 3 weeks ago- and I can't help but totally worry myself sick...
  • @niesem73 I am 7 weeks 5 days and still having period like cramps off and on. Have had them since around 4 weeks. I think it's pretty normal at this point.
  • I had both spotting and cramps with my first pregnancy. The spotting was from weeks 5-7 and it was just brown. Cramping was basically the entire first trimester. Everything turned out fine. Having spotting and cramping with this one too, so I'm not panicking.

  • I haven't really had any symptoms other than complete exhaustion and hormones. I'm 9w today, so I guess I'm blessed on that front!

I have had some cramps starting at 4 weeks-6 weeks. I'm 7 weeks now and they aren't really a problem anymore- I feel more stretchy of the uterus now. But completely normal. I know it's hard but remember cramping is normal if not paired with blood. Hang in there!

I'm 7wks tomorrow, nausea on/off, sore boobs and nips gone bigger too which I'm not happy about given I'm a G already! Cry at slightest thing too. Also had ligament pain too so glad I'm not alone! I don't know if anyone else feels like it but I don't feel like myself, don't know if it's hormones making me feel like I'm in a bubble I hate it can't wait for the first trimester to be over!

Omg, just thinking about using a neti pot makes me want to puke. Not hard these days...
  • 7 weeks and every time I stand up I have about a 3-5 second head rush. This is new this week. Suuuuper annoying.....
  • @tennisbabymama I remember having that a few weeks ago too. Not fun at all! Now I can't stop farting. DS heard me today and went, "Biiiig toot!"  :))

  • Burping all damn day!  And tired and an "off" tummy.  But it could be a lot worse I realize.

Hugs to those of us that have it worse!
  • Luckily never hand round ligament pain but I'm starting to feel super restless. Toward the end of last pregnancy I had restless leg in the motn. Now I'm waking up and thank god it's not there yet but it's freaking me out. Anybody have any solutions? I feel like j need a muscle relaxer (I've actually never taken one so have no idea if that's what I need, but I literally need my body to relax). I feel like an adhd middle school boy.

  • Yeah I'm getting that 'broad ligament ' feeling too. Glad it's normal Cuz this is my first and I have my doc appointment on Friday!
  • Hi, yeeeaah I've pretty much been experiencing all the symptoms. This is my first pregnancy so it's a little bit overwhelming.

RLP for the past few weeks (I'm 9w5d), nausea and vomiting for over 3 wks now, serious exhaustion, light-headedness when I stand, sore boobs, extra burping, sneezing, gas pain, bad indigestion/heartburn, no appetite, sensitivity to smells, mood swings and general bitchiness, and oh my god the headaches/migraines.

So, I feel like some crazy burden on DH right now. He's tired of not being able to fix me and wants to go back to doing his own thing now. I've been trying all the remedies I can find, but the relief is minimal. Just a few more weeks of this to go, hopefully!
  • Has anyone else had random overnight weight gain?? I gained 4 lbs of water overnight! It can't be fat gain because the math on that is a 12k calorie day but still 4 lbs of water?!?
  • I'm permantley bloated! Which I can only assume is water apparently the extra protesterone slows everything down too I look more pregnant than I am and as I'm trying to hide it until 12wk scan is frustrating!

@jlnitti80 yeah it's just bloat/water retention. That will get better as you get further into your pregnancy. Just focus on drinking lots of water and try not to worry too much about it.

  • Yup. I literally eat all day every day and have already gained five pounds... but I don't see an alternative. It'd be one thing if Icould just lay in bed all day, but I work full-time and have a two-year-old at home so I have to do what I have to do to function. I was the same in my first pregnancy, and once I started feeling better, I started eating much better again. Just know it won't last forever!

  • I eat all damn day. And of course I don't crave decent food......yesterday, I felt great after I got home from work so I made a really good stirfry with veggies, chicken and ginger. It was probably the healthiest thing I have eaten in weeks.

Luckily, my all day sickness has seemed to subside in the past 2 days. I am going to a spin class tonight, I can't wait to exercise regularly again!
  • Man...when I was doing my ballet barre tonight I REALLY noticed just how tight my entire tummy is. I've definitely felt things tightening up in that region (not just lower, but upper as well) but it was impossible to ignore when I was stretching out my back. Anyone else dealing with this?

  • @sarahufl Glad you're feeling better!! Hope the rest of us are there with you soon! My "morning" sickness cleared up with my son around nine weeks as well. I can't wait to get back to healthy habits. I have been running several days a week still, but it's been rough. And I eat SO many carbs that honestly it cancels out haha.

Happy to report that I made it to my spin class! I wasn't feeling great and I almost skipped it, but I am so glad I went. I feel so much better.
  • My first child...I am 9 weeks. My nipples..they hurt and get so swollen that I cry. What can I do for the pain?
  • I had an awful sharp pain in my left side for two days straight so I went to the doctor yesterday and had an ultrasound which showed fluid just hanging out by my left ovary which they said isn't unusual. Everything is good with baby tho at 8w3d. I go for another check up tomorrow!
  • Hello ladies :)

First pregnancy so I question EVERYTHING! I'm 9 weeks today last week I had terrible nausea and the last couple of days NOTHING!! I still have sore nipples especially in the morning and evening but nausea has gone unless I let myself go hungry. Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this before.

    Thanks ladies

What can I do about my cramps? I'm 9 weeks.
  • @svargas18 Lansinoh makes these awesome gel nipple pads. When I was first breastfeeding, I'd pop those bad boys in the fridge for awhile and then use them when I wasn't nursing. Those might be helpful for you now!

  • Every time I stretch or inhale to deep like to yawn I get a pain in my stomach. Is this normal? I'm 6w3d
  • I've been getting cramps fairly regularly since the beginning, I'm 9 weeks now. Doc said it was normal since cramps were an issue before. They aren't nearly as bad as regular, but still worry.
  • @jokersbabymama I get the pains in my torso, it feels like I have been doing heavy ab exercises. It's not every day and comes and goes.
  • Me too!! I am burping like crazy and my husband just gives me this look like "what is wrong with you?!" Lol Pretty bad MS (all day) and i can barely eat.
