im having my test done today at 3pm...she told me not to fast but I'm wondering if I should watch my carb/sugar intake as to not have any unnecessary spikes in my blood sugar or affect the test negatively...
What's your opinions/thoughts on the process?
Re: 1 hour glucose test
I agree with calling the office in the morning to confirm your instructions.
That glucola is too gross to drink twice if you can avoid it.
My doctor just said don't eat anything after breakfast and take the test around lunch.

I ate a bowl of oatmeal, had a cup of coffee, got to my docs office and drank the drink about an hour later with my blood draw exactly an hour after that. I passed with flying colors.
Also, I was told no drinking or eating anything (including water) while waiting the hour for the blood draw.
But call the office and ask them for sure. You don't want to get a false positive if you don't have to.
Just curious, I keep hearing about how nasty the glucose drink is and how it taste like orange popsicle. Has anyone else had a different flavor? I've had one before and it was lemonade flavor. This one was exactly the same, lemonade. And it tasted good lol

@breezypip don't worry it's not bad! I would recommend not eating a whole lot afterwards though. The flavor was fine but I don't think it sat well with a full meal for lunch. I didn't get sick it just made my stomach icky for a bit
