Our province doesn't typically do scans until the 12 week genetic screening unless something is up. Had an early scan today at 8w2d as we are following a miscarriage last May and had some spotting. Heartbeat of 167 and all is well!... Couldn't get a great angle, so the little guy (gal?) looked very blob like!
I'm jealous of all your early scans! I have to wait til mid-September for my next appt (u/s followed by family doc appt with Doppler) I'll be (likely) 11w5d.
This sounds nuts but my SIL is a vet and last pregnancy we had check-ins every 2 weeks with her practice's u/s haha. We were due at the same time and we made u/s dates starting at 14 weeks... can't wait to tell her so I can have check ins with my wee little one.
Little bean at 8w0d today FHT was 170 I keep spotting light brown and tan but the ultrasound looked ok to me anyway. I'll know more once I look at the report . The black spot on the right is the brain starting to form
Had an U/S today! My due date was 4/4 initially but I got bumped to 3/30 now! Most likely won't be an April baby for this momma my son was due April 7th 2014 but ended up coming in March. So i'm thinking this one will stay in March as well, but i'm going to stick around on this board, because I have already set up camp here and I am feeling pretty happy here! Measured at exactly 10 weeks today!
I have my first ultrasound today and I am exactly 6 weeks (I know this because I got pregnant from and IUI). I'm hoping to be one of the lucky ones who sees the heartbeat at 6 weeks!
We went in yesterday for our second appointmtnet and to meet our OB. We did our second ultrasound and our little peanut is 9w exactly as we expected and has a heartbeat of 180 bpm. We also got to see the baby moving about during the ultrasound which was awesome!
We had our 2nd ultrasound Tuesday 9/1 (first was at 5 weeks and we only saw the gestational sac). I thought I was 7 weeks turns out I'm 8 weeks! Baby looked great with a strong HB of 164bpm! So excited as this is our first sticky pregnancy! (MMC Sept 2014 and Partial Molar Pregnancy Dec 2014)
This was on Monday. I was so sure I was 8w3d based on the first day of my last period (7/3) but the midwife dates me at 6w2d's. I was relieved to see a heartbeat but I was bummed to hear the change in dates. I've worried so much about m/c and was looking forward to almost being finished with the first trimester.
I've been jealously stalking this thread but it's finally my turn to post! 8w4d today and we heard the heartbeat going strong about 180! Baby was wiggling away too, so cute! Such a magical moment for us as this is our first pregnancy!! Here s/he is!!
Here's our baby at 8 weeks, 5 days. I saw his (or her) little feet and hands moving away. The nurse did find a small subchorianic hematoma, but trying to stay as positive as possible for the baby!
I get to play!! Went in thinking I was 7+4 but we got moved to 7+2. Jumping bean wouldn't sit still for a clear picture but we got to hear a strong heartbeat at 173 bpm!
I had my first appointment today and found out I will not have an ultrasound until 18 weeks unless I do the first scan to test for certain birth defects. I did not think I would do the early scan because either way I would not terminate the pregnancy. This is a personal choice of course. But now not have an ultrasound until 18 weeks seems like so long. Has anyone else had to wait this long?

Yea, that does seem like a long time. I just had mine and I'm not quite 7w yet. Maybe try another physician?
Here's my 6w 4d ultrasound! My OB told me she was surprised I wasn't having twins given my hormone levels. I told her one was plenty for now!

Technically all ultrasounds are looking for birth defects, that's the reason they do them. Even at the 18 week appointment, they will still be checking for these, measuring the baby's head and length, and checking to see if there are any abnormalities. I understand that you wouldn't terminate either way (I wouldn't either,) however, there are a lot of disorders where advanced knowledge and planning can be really helpful (for instance, there are heart disorders associated with Downs that can be operated on right after birth). I don't think you should look at your anatomy scans as a measure for termination or not, but as a check in on your baby.
I'm over the moon! Just had our first appointment at 8 weeks exactly. Baby measured perfect and due date is still April 15th. Heart rate was going strong at 171. It's my first pregnancy so totally cried when I saw the heart beat and those little arms and legs. So blessed!
I got to see my little bean today! 9wks 2 days. The bpm was 170 and it was so wiggly!! Our due date was right on point at April 6th! So crazy that it looks so much like a baby at only a few weeks!
The BF took video of my reaction for our parents. His mom cried from my reaction. It was a surreal feeling. I am definitely happy we had to wait til 9 weeks. For those still waiting, it's amazing and worth the wait!
Yes, the doctors in my OBs group don't do the early scans unless there is something to warrant them. I had mine done yesterday (8w4d) at a local free clinic just to have something to show our parents when we tell them. And because I was scared there might be two in there haha.

Why would you not have it? It's still covered by insurance and you get to see and connect with LO. Plus the test doesn't determine if something is wrong, it gives a likelihood, which leads to further testing. If you don't want to know, don't get he further testing.

Hi where I live (Canada) unless you can't date your pregnancy or are high risk then you only get 18-29 week u/s. I'm super jealous of all these early u/s on the board.
Having said that our healthcare is free so I can't complain
A few days behind what we thought but at 6w4d, we have a heart rate of 122bpm and everything looked great.... so they say, I couldn't make out a thing :-)
Here we are!!! I've been so excited to post this. My rainbow baby at 8w2d. Measured exactly as we thought with 165bpm. Baby looks a bit like a Lego character so I'm picturing "everything is awesome" playing on repeat as baby grows!!! Due April 13!
Ahh so sad I can't play. Trying my best to wait with some sort of patience until 9/22. I'll be 10 weeks. I was bummed at first my OB wouldn't see me until then but It'll be cool to see something resembling a baby. Can't wait to see all the babes!
I have to wait until 9/22 as well. I will be 11 weeks then and am so anxious already! Glad to know I'm not the only one bummed!
I am just going to say again that the amount of personal information y'all are sharing is really nuts. Crop out your name! Crop out your DOB! Crop out the name of your OB practice!
