Hold your flames...FFFC

Haven't seen one started yet. My apologies if we get doubled up.

My office had a little shower for me Monday. They bought a choc. chip cookie cake. Aside from maybe 2 little slices I've eaten almost the whole thing in a week by myself. I.CAN'T.RESIST.THE.COOKIE!!!

  • It has been really hot and humid here in Ontario, and with a 45 min each way commute, and clothes being, well, too much... I pulled the: too hot to come into the office for a half day card.

So I am working from home in pyjamas til noon! :D:D:D:D

I.CAN'T.RESIST.THE.COOKIE!!! haha I can TOTALLY relate!! My office had a little shower for me last week too, and they ordered a Cheese & Fruit plate (along with cupcakes and the gorgeous cake) And I totes ate the
entire cheese plate by myself that evening and the following day at work... no regrets ;)
  • @Kim1228 we are due date twins... I've told her that she can't stay that long thought. 10-20-15 sounds cool... *wishful thinking*
  • @kim1228 throw in candy crush and my day at work sounds the exact same as yours!! I also have a book nearby incase my phone dies!
  • I'm just done with work at this point. I show up get what I have to done but can't focus for anything. I have no motivation to do more than bare minimum which is not like me at all. I'm 27 days away from my due date (Oct 1) and I only have 9 more days of work until my leave starts and I absolutely cannot wait.
  • I live in Nebraska where college football rules all. The season starts tomorrow and we live only blocks from the stadium, I'm not originally from nebraska and secretly hope they lose because I am in no mood to have thousands of people in my neighborhood, drunk, and a heat index in the 100s.

@floyd1rl it only counts as one serving if you eat it all at the same time ;-)
  • I am scared to death of how I'm going to take care of both DS and this new LO. He needs so much attention and he's a terrible eater. He used to sleep well but lately he's been going to bed later and later. Last night he told me he had a bad dream about 30 seconds after I finally got him into bed. Sigh. He also has no interest in potty training so no preschool will take him.
  • @satori15, how old is your DS? I have one who is 2 and I have the same fears. He needs so much from me, and he's been throwing a lot of tantrums lately. Plus with no interest in potty training this means twice as many diapers . . . Already overwhelmed with one, I'm wondering how in the world I'll manage two.

  • I had planned on potty training at the beginning of the summer but my 2.5 yr old has been so resistant that I put it off each week. Now I feel so sick/in pain that I have no clue when I will be able to do this! So now I will have a 2.5 yr old, 1.5 yr old and newborn in diapers at the same time with potty training looming! I feel like such a failure on this.
  • @cmjn94 Thanks!! You are probably right :)

I'm there with you! I had all good intentions to start potty training with my 2.5yo back in July. I was adamant that she had to be trained by the time this little man comes around but then I realized that she just wasn't ready, showing little interest. I'd rather not stress myself out (and her) over it so double diaper duty it is until then! When she's ready, we'll try again and keep trying until she get's it. Don't feel bad Mama, hopefully they'll all be ready soon!

  • I can echo the potty training sentiments. I planned on trying to potty train DS before DD arrived but he's still happily in diapers with no end in sight. Oh well.

  • I'm also not potty training my 2.5 year old twins right now. While it would be nice to only have one kid in diapers we just have too much transition going on right now and I don't want to push them if they aren't 100% ready.
  • Even though I only like a handful of my coworkers, I thought they'd throw a baby shower for me. I do a lot here, too. But nope, no shower. And I know my boss wants me to come back after my leave. My pettiness levels are telling me to do as I'd originally planned: to look for a new job while I'm recovering. I feel like my boss is the only person who appreciates what I do, while everyone else benefits from it. At least I had my performance appraisal yesterday. If my raise isn't what it should be I'm out of here. LOL.

  • I fell on our stairs on Tuesday afternoon. My right hand and knee broke most of my fall. I went to L&D and was admitted overnight for observation. My little guy is fine. My right thumb was placed in a removable splint. The hospital was very clear that I needed to have an orthopedic dr look at my hand. I showed up for my 11:15 appointment to do paperwork 30 minutes early. They were an hour behind, I think if you are running behind you should tell people up front. When I was seen, they looked at my xrays from the hospital and told me I've just bruised my thumb and thumb joint badly.

I just saw a post on a for sale Facebook page from a woman whose last name was Gardner looking for a sitter for her 7 month old named Olive....Olive Gardner.... And now I can't stop laughing and feeling so sorry for that little girl. And I also really want bread sticks now. Edited to add: I think the name Olive is darling! Gardner is just an unfortunate last name to pair it with IMO

lol! That's very unfortunate. Now, like you, I want unlimited salad and breadsticks!

  • I'm terrified of how much I'm going to hate my body post baby. I've kept the weight gain pretty moderate (epsite my earlier post about mutiple deserts). I suffered from an eating disorder for five years when I was younger and my body image has never been great. All i want to do is be happy to meet my son..
  • @sjembry93, that is hilarious! I was just thinking about their salad dressing earlier...

Mine isn't really a confession, maybe it is, idk...but what are these inflatable ring floats that I keep seeing recently that go around baby's neck in water? I've seen pictures on fb, etc. I either just don't get it or am really behind on baby things.
  • We are making brownies because DS had good behavior for four days in a row.

I licked the bowl. I have no regrets.

I agree with those of you saying the board has been a bit weird lately.

I confess to wondering if we're going to be stuck with a daily "one month to go!" post. Is this a thing? Can we do birth week posts or something? Just seems awfully redundant to me.

How about a mucus plug ? Partayyyy
