I am headed into the city to work with the college colorguard that I am leaving while I am off having a baby. They have a rehearsal in the AM and then a full home gameday run-through (doing stuff around campus), so I feel like all that time on my feet will be good for me. Then we are headed to an Italian restaurant in our area which boasts serving labor-inducing eggplant parmesan on Saturday night. Seeing as my due date was Friday and I have an induction that I would like to avoid scheduled on Thursday, I am desperate to try everything to evict this tenant! Sunday plans include walking miles and miles at our local mall if we aren't in labor yet!!
Stayed home from a baseball game last night - decided heat and cramped spaces probably is not meant to be for the condition I'm in!! Today I meet up with some friends for some Bubble Tea, leaving DS with DH for a bit. Then we have company over for dinner later on. Hopefully DH and the male counterpart will be able to move upstairs soon to be DDs dresser so I can put away her clothes. And then, I will continue to work on painting her crib. Busy!
DH and I prepped & painted the kitchen ceiling from yellow back to white (what were the previous owners thinking??) I need to clean up and put together the room, and he did all the painting. Oh and I can't believe we're still finishing up painting projects at 38 weeks.. this needed to be done. It won't get any easier with a newborn to take care of.
I am doing some last minute housework while hubs is at training. Then we are having a mini date night with an educational exhibit, a red box and him making dinner. Sunday my sisters family are coming for the day and we are going to puppy poolooza. I cannot say how excited I am to be able to attend this event. (The pool allows us to bring your dogs to swim before they drain it) i've looked forward to it all summer!
Someone get @Miz_Liz some zucchini brownies! They are so much better than normal ones. I use a Pinterest recipe. Anyways...today my mom and sister are visiting and bringing lunch. My mom misses her grandson already. I decided to let dh off for the day to go to his softball tournament. He deserves it really. He's been fantastic! In dreading him going back to work Monday
Here is my weekend RanT(dom): my body is a giant twatwaffle! I wake up with cramps, bad enough to wake me up, feels like the day I went into labor with DS. I then start puking before I even get in the shower. I think, "This is it, today is the day!" I shaved my business as best I could for the Dr's sake. Well....it is now only 11:30 am...cramps are gone. No more labor signs. Alas I am back to the waiting game. Body, I hate you.
Honestly not planning to do anything other than lay in bed all weekend. I keep dropping hints to my dear sweet husband that we need groceries and hoping he'll offer to just take the list himself. We spring cleaned our entire condo on Thursday and sent our black lab to be babysat by my brother so the house is spotless until Go Time. (I think part of the reason I want to hole up in the bedroom is so it stays that way lol)
Just wanted to say that epidurals are a gift from God. I planned on laboring naturally for as long as I could but told myself that I didn't want to be miserable so I opted for an epidural after 4 hours of 2-3 minute apart contractions (I'm a big sissy, I know). Although it would have been cool to do this completely non-medicated, I am so happy with my decision. I wanted to kiss the anesthesiologist when he was finished. Best decision of my life (slight exaggeration but it's seriously way up there on the list).
If you're on the fence about what to do and in a tremendous amount of pain, get an epidural. If you're a med-free momma, you're a rockstar but I'm way more comfy than you.
This is definitely random so I'll just put it here:
In case you think going to a 3 year old's birthday party at 40 weeks sounds like a great idea, WRONG. DD was cranky and they didn't serve food until 1! When will people learn that toddler parties must have snacks available at all times?! Luckily, I had something in the car for her but I couldn't leave her alone inside so we were trudging back and forth to the car in 100 degrees. I should have stayed home and let her watch tv
Had a babysitter this afternoon so DH and I could go to our storage unit. I realized last night that I only have 5 days until my DD and had some how forgotten to go get the box of baby blankets and a few other things out of storage. Tomorrow we are going to SIL's house after DH gets home from work. I have to admit that I don't really want to go even though I love my SIL. It was when she mentioned her hash brown casserole that it started to sound worth it lol
I totally read that as you were excited about SIL's hash brownies. (Hey, give me a break its 330am!) I normally don't judge people's personal decisions, but not while you're pregnant! lol.
Glad it's only hash brown casserole. That does sound good. )
Lol nope no hash brownies here. I wouldn't turn down some regular brownies tho
Lets see I am hoping baby comes next week. This Sunday my 8 year old is getting baptized at the lake. I am so excited.. God lives in my little bear daily and I love his love for our father.
I have been extra tired.
Just taking every day like he might come. Also my church is doing a wipes and diaper shower.. Very exciting...
My office is throwing me a shower on Wednesday, so baby must stay until then!
@CarelessDiva89 Here is my go-to cinnamon bun recipe. My husband is a cinnamon bun aficionado and this one is his favourite. I always make a bit more of the filling and do a cinnamon vanilla buttercream for the frosting. I would imagine a cream cheese frosting would be amazing too.
I'm hoping to pump more then a ounce of breast milk at a time so I can stop with the formula. I also almost made a trip to the ER because my incision is bleeding. Called my doctors, and they will see me in the office Monday morning and advised against going to the ER due to some kind of "super bug" out break.... that kind of makes me nervous. I'm hoping to get more then 2 hrs of sleep this evening. But I know I'm dreaming... well, I'm not really dreaming. That's my weekend plans
Made it to the wedding and saw two friends become one! I love love! Me and DH had a great time and I'm sore from all the dancing! LO you can come anytime now
I'm so happy for you! I realize I technically worked until I delivered. But going at 38+4 made me feel like a bit of a cheater and I always thought of how much of a trooper you've been with work. Enjoy the leave... You've earned it!
My nose gave 2 bloody shows today. Still no action from my uterus.

I finished writing thank you notes yesterday (finally!). I spent most of this afternoon trying to find a long-term sub to take my class starting next week. I feel like I'm doing the substitute coordinator's job, finding out if these people are still certified and/or even want to do a long-term assignment. Grrr!
