Walking into work today a woman saw me moving slowly (and then even more slowly up the stairs). Most people just pass me but she matched my pace to chat. She commented that some days we need more strength. I teased back and said yes, and an extra hour's sleep would be nice sometimes too.
She asked to pray with me for the last 8 weeks left of growing baby. Unexpected and very kind. Hoping it sets the tone for a nice day, but I may have ruined that because I already posted on the WTF post with lots of sass. Oops...
This was yesterday but I'll share it here. My toddler said "I love you" yesterday!
At two years old, this kid repeats much of what he hears and is trying out new words daily. His latest words/phrases were "blood sugar," which is actually what he calls my glucometer, and "blow dryer."
But this particular phrase hasn't been one for him to attempt just yet. Well yesterday, I told him, "I love you." And he said it back! That was absolutely the highlight of my day.
I slept 6 hours straight last night! I was shocked when I woke up and looked at the clock. I always got up at least once a night to use the bathroom before I was pregnant, so sleeping straight like that is always a win!
I'm doing my weekly paperwork today and numbers from the week are pretty much spot on! I usually spend like an hour fixing other people's mistakes which puts me way behind but today they aren't bad.
I get to leave work at 11 today for an appointment to get the windows of my new car tinted, followed by a doctor's appointment. So not super fun escapes, but escaping early nonetheless!
I officially start back at school Monday but am going in for a few hours tomorrow to get some of my classroom set up and to allow dd1 a few hours back at daycare before spending a whole day there Monday. The winning part is that yesterday I was able to look at Pinterest for a good couple of hours and really feel like I am at least prepare for the first 3 days of class (or at least have a good foundation to build from). I always feel so lost those days (this will be my 5th year teaching) as it's not really time to start with the curriculum but the kids have to be kept busy so they don't get out of control and think they can act that way all year.
I was invited to go to "the other place" where there are bunnies and glitter and cake and all other things magical. If you have any idea what I'm talking about, you'll accept the invite in your messages!
And speaking of magical things, some random lady at the gas station told me that I'm a pregnancy unicorn. I don't exactly know what that means, but I'm taking it as a compliment.
25-cent mangos and 35-cent avocados, where have you been all my life?! Our grocery bill was at least 30% lower. I'm in love. :x
It's always my suggestion for people who are looking to cut costs. All of their crackers/snack foods and dairy are literally half the price and fantastic.
We got back from visiting my parents this weekend and when we travel my kids don't sleep well and start to behave badly by the end of the week. Since we have been back in our own house and with our routines they have been so sweet and kind to us and each other. When I see the contrast between how they act tired and how nice they can normally be it reminds me how fun they can be. DD decided she wants to start reading so I worked with her on the BOB books yesterday and she did great. DS is really getting creative with his legos lately and finished yet another chapter book this morning. OK I'll stop bragging on them, but yay, kids are fun!
Love this post! Thanks for starting it @SweetnSassy23 keeping our positive energy up among all our rants My shout out goes to the nice man at Target who offered tp take my cart back up to the store for me. It really is the little things.
I wanted to make no-sew curtains for the LO's nursery. My win is that yesterday I finally found a fabric that I love ❤️❤️❤️ and it wasn't a million $$$. A small thing but it's put me in such a good mood today!
I've had horrible acne this whole pregnancy, now my skin is finally clear again! I can leave the house without makeup and not be completely embarrassed. Or go to the pool and not worry how horrible my back looks! Hoping it stays that way. I'm sure once this baby comes out it will be a whole new set of problems with the change in hormones though.
My dad and husband finished the hardwood floor in the nursery last night! And tomorrow is my birthday so I took the day off and I'm just gonna float in my pool all day
Also, I SAW PUMPKIN BEER FOR SALE yesterday at Total Wine!
On the one hand, it was kind of cruel and inappropriate since it's mid-August and 106 out, but, on the other hand: GUYS! Fall is close enough that companies that put out fall things inappropriately early are putting out fall things inappropriately early! THE END IS NIGH (in a weird consumer kind of way...)!!!
My husband finally agreed to hiring a cleaning lady and her first day was today. My house is all sparkling clean and I didn't lift a finger to make it happen! I want to invite all the people over before we mess it up again!
A lady that's caused a lot of drama and tension in my office with everyone for the past year and a half was let go this morning. I feel bad she lost her job, but i'm not sad to see her go.

Yes! All the stores in my area have already put out Halloween candy and our local Starbucks has added pumpkin back to the menu! It's never too early to get excited! I'll put on some uggs, sit in front of my AC with a pumpkin latte and pretend!!
As excited as I am for baby to be here I'm so happy there are 7 weeks left! Time is flying as it is and I'm so hoping baby is an October girl, I've grown to be attached to the thought of an October birthday. (Due 10/1/15) . Win: I conquered my anxiety awaiting baby girl and I'm in love soaking up every minute until she gets here. I think it's dawning on me I won't actually be pregnant much longer and I will really miss some aspects of it.
I had to go to two different grocery stores yesterday with DD in tow. At the first store there was a nasty woman who decided to bark at me "watch your back!" while I was standing there, holding DDs hand. I turned around and glared at her...Lady, you're coming up behind me with your cart, I can't see you coming so why don't you just take a wider turn around me, my child and my bump! Grrr...
At the next store, a complete stranger (woman) walked up to me, smiled and said "You look lovely and it looks like you're doing great!" Awww...completely caught me off guard but made me feel like it made up for the nasty bag at the other store
We finally got planning done for my showers today! We've been kinda slow to get going and my family and SIL have got it together now. I also feel pretty loved because several of my coworkers have asked which one they should attend
We took a tour of the hospital today and it really set my husband's mind at ease! He has seriously been stressing out about everything. The lady that gave us a tour was an angel and answered all of his questions before he even had a chance to ask them. Haha!
Baby boy is also doing very well and had a nice strong heartbeat. He didn't try to hide from the Doppler today like he did last time. Haha he doesn't really have anywhere to hide at this point, though!
Thank you awesome Costco worker for unloading my cart into my car AND returning my cart for me! He must have seen the defeated look on my face while I stood staring at the contents trying to will them into my car.

I had a full and stress-filled day at work today working with staff in their new curriculum. I made a trip to the district office over lunch to submit some paperwork, and the manager reminded me to deposit a check she had given me at the end of last school year. It was like FREE MONEY! Except it wasn't...but it felt like it, so WIN.
My son is 5 years old, and has special needs. Today I received his special stroller, it accommodates children up to 100 pounds! I'm hoping this will be a lifesaver during outings at the park, or even something like a quick trip to target. Which have become difficult because he won't walk for long and is waaaay too tall and heavy for this momma to carry anymore. It was kind of expensive so hoping he likes it!
My Wednesday win is I got to see my sweet girl today! I haven't had an ultrasound since 20 weeks and it was amazing up see how much she's developed since then. She kept sucking on both her hands it was the cutest thing ever and really got my excited to hold her soon.
