Today I've done a load of laundry, unloaded the dishwasher, made breakfast and coffee, AND showered. And it's only 1 PM. Now, I'm setting my sights higher for the day: grocery shopping and a trip to the park because it's finally under 100 degrees. Anyone else dread grocery shopping? It's so awkward while lugging around the car seat. I might try the Ergo.
Yes! I grocery shopped this morning and I put the baby in his stroller. Then I just put all the groceries underneath in the holder thing. My DS is way too heavy to lug around! Think it's supposed to feel like over 100 today, so we're in for the afternoon.
I used the stroller today while grocery shopping for the first time. Worked out great.
I do that all the time. I feel like my stroller is so easy to move around do I push it in front and pull a cart behind me. It works well for me : )
Yesterday DH and I went to a small street fair. We were out of the house for almost 5 hours with LO. We had gone to the county fair with him last week, but were only gone 3 hours because of our late start and by the time he was hungry I was super tired, so we came home. So yesterday was the first day of leaving the house with him and trying to have a life and take care of him for a period of time longer than one 'cycle'. We did pretty good I think... By the time we were bored with the festivities, he was ready to eat. We went back to the car thinking we would go home, but decided to try to feed him and see if we could extend our outing. I gave him 10 min per boob in the car (in a parking garage so it was shady) and he drank one of those similac ready to feed bottles, and we went to a nearby restaurant / pub where we used to eat and hang out. Saw our neighbors there and spent another 2 hours eating and hanging out.
Of course, all this excitement I'm sure helped me obtain my headache, which I'm paying for now, but really proud of us for actually doing stuff that resembled our old lives before heading back home cause it was easier to take care of baby there.
I went to a baby shower yesterday. Left the baby with DH. It was the first time my hair was not in a bun or pony tail in 2 months. Before you judge, sometimes it's in a neat, nice looking bun.
Melly I love your meme... People posting that they only eat organic fish oil from a certified organic ocean and a slice of organic avocado raised only by certified organic avocado farmers (ok... Overboard but trying to make a point) .. And their babies won't take their breast milk?? Hmmm And they are so upset they have to give their babies "junk" formula because their LOs can't tolerate their milk.. So now they have to feed "Garbage" to their kid (formula) ... I really want to say "eat food and stop being .. Well THAT.. And your LO will probably take to your breastmilk just fine... But I just had to vent here about...again, how I love your meme... I breastfeed and find this offensive to my formula feeding Mamas on here.
Yeah, that lady seemed like MUD to me. Do we know her??
I've been getting things mostly wrong lately, but I finally got to put LO into super cute, situation appropriate AND weather appropriate outfits at this wedding! He had a wedding outfit and a brunch outfit. He slept in an easy chair while the Pack n Play chilled at the rental car place. But he looked fan.tastic. #priorities
@virginiaunicorn11 that's what's most important in my opinion. Then again, I just ordered my kid some converse and baby aviators off of Amazon, so I'm probably not the person to ask. I'm also probably going to get lectured about money and being practical when DH seems them.
ETA: regarding above comments. That kid is probably begging for some sugary breast milk....
Thru judicious use of coupons and store sales / promotions I got $160 worth of stuff for $110 at Target today. They are right now offering (again) buy two boxes of diapers for $24.99 each and get a $10 gift card (Pampers, Huggies, and I think Luvs). There was also coupons for both pampers and luvs in the Sunday paper today, which you can use with the promotion.
@mellymar now I want a pop tart. I also just tore through half a package of Oreos. Damn. I guess it could be worse - I could have downed formula. Gasp.
Anyway, I'm feeling super productive and proud of myself. I actually put LO in the Ergo at the grocery store. I chickened out yesterday because I was afraid she'd freak out or something. Well, she did awesome! I had both hands free, a full cart, and it was amazing. Then I came home and vacuumed, swiffered (pfft real mopping? Yeah, right), dusted, did laundry, and made a peanut butter banana sandwich. Oh - and I kept LO in the Ergo the whole time. Winning at mommyhood.
Yeah, my kids have never had a pop tart and have no idea what McDonald's even is, but even they got some formula as babies. It's not junk food, that's kind of ridiculous. There's no incentive for companies to make it a crappy product. It's not like they need to add sugar or artificial colors or flavors to make it more enticing- babies are already addicted.
Anyway, my accomplishment- mowed the yard and removed the delicious/poisonous poke berry bush. Hopefully I can send the kids out without another call to poison control.
Bahahaha @rrcameron21! Ya'll, I have been biting my tongue, but that really pissed me off. Good for you, mother organic, but there's no reason to make those of us who formula feed feel like bad mothers.
Since I was EP for the last day, I got to see my output in 24 hrs. 34 ounces! I think I need to add a pump session every day to take advantage. Right now, I've been freezing 4-5 ounces a day but I should be able to increase that. Woot!
I think she came from July bc she had a NICU baby...so highly offensive though. I'm pretty sure that formula is healthier than my breastmilk bc of all the crap I eat .
I just put the last 2 birth announcements/thank yous in the mail. I don't feel too bad, LO isn't 8 weeks yet and one is going to Morocco and the other to Brazil. Check it off the list!

And for the love of the gods, have a poptart, organic woman. They're yummy.
