We haven't had this thread for a bit and I know we tend to be hard on ourselves as mothers thinking about all the things we feel we aren't doing "right"....so what are some things you are proud of today?
I pushed past my insecurities of not having LO sleep next to me and put her in her own room last night. She did great and I slept so much better! I also enrolled DS in preschool yesterday (he starts in Sept), so that is a huge relief to have that checked off my list!
I finally hit 10k steps on my Fitbit! I feel like I'm constantly on my ass nursing so it felt really good to have my Fitbit vibrate in celebration! LO loves our walks, which helps get me going!
i actually made myself breakfast. not only rare because of LO now, but because ive never been one to make/eat breakfast. maybe ill try my hand at vaccuming the living room. or folding laundry before the beast wakes. eta: missed words
LO slept 9.5 hours last night, we woke up and got showered. LO got his hair washed. We went to a bwi meeting today, LO was so well behaved! Then we went to chipotle and LO was a trooper while we picked up lunch for myself and SO.
LO has been super fussy when DH is not home leaving me to just feed and soothe and repeat all day. Yesterday and today he is either in a better mood or he has finished one of those leaps y'all talk about or I'm just doing a better job. Anyway, yesterday I was able to clean the living room (I didn't vacuum, but I did pick up) and do a load of laundry. Today I've got a load of laundry in the dryer already and another washing. And I've been able to incorporate some time on his activity mat, both tummy time and on his back waving the little animals for him and making faces and generally being able to interact with him in a way that doesn't involve trying to make him stop crying.
It doesn't sound like much, a decluttered living room and 3 loads of laundry, but its fricking HUGE over here.
Oh, and I ate a for real meal last night (salad, so its not like it was hard to prepare, but its a damned sight better than poptarts and trail mix)
@mellymar I'm elbow deep in a Costco bag of trail mix right now. Props on the salad!
Even though it's been hard and I'm exhausted I've managed to get LO to sleep in his own bed the past 2 nights. Such a huge accomplishment because he sleeps like a champ in bed with me. But I'm determined to make it work!
The kids are back in school (praise Jesus), DH is working on a big job and LO is finally sleeping more at night. I feel like a new person. Now, I just need to make time to do anything besides cook, clean, or take care of LO.
Today I've done a load of laundry, unloaded the dishwasher, made breakfast and coffee, AND showered. And it's only 1 PM. Now, I'm setting my sights higher for the day: grocery shopping and a trip to the park because it's finally under 100 degrees. Anyone else dread grocery shopping? It's so awkward while lugging around the car seat. I might try the Ergo.

Yes! I grocery shopped this morning and I put the baby in his stroller. Then I just put all the groceries underneath in the holder thing. My DS is way too heavy to lug around! Think it's supposed to feel like over 100 today, so we're in for the afternoon.
@sjeff0816 I put LO in the baby carrier and go around the store like that. He loves the carrier so it works wonders. If I am going in for like, 5 seconds I put the ENTIRE car seat in the car and place the food around the carrier, but this only really works if I need 5 very small things, lol.
With LO being so grouchy between back to back mental and physical growth spurts, I'm going to call that a win. He screamed the entire time DH had him, but I got to shower and he got a taste of the other 23.5 hours of the day he didn't have LO. 8->
I only have 50 minutes left of my first full week back at work and have been pumping everyday! I'm excited to have made it through and not fallen asleep at my desk.. Lo goes into her crib in her room tonight for the first time, so hoping that goes well, and my in laws have been here all week and I haven't freaked out at them. Seriously feeling pretty awesome.
I use the Ergo. She likes to look around and I need my hands free because I'm a weakling. Except today in homegoods I took a table to put it on my cart and the drawer fell out and whacked LO in the back of the head. Really killing it in the Great Mom game this week. So...success for shopping with LO in the ergo, fail for whacking her head.

Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.
ive eaten a decent amount today, i finished off all our dirty dishes, cleaned out the microwave, and did the counters/stove top. i was going to start on the floors but someone had other plans for me.
I made it to the park today with LO and DS. I had a friend and her daughter with me to help. Thank god, because I ended up BFing and changing two blow out diapers and two sets of cloths. I made it out of the house with both kids so that's a win for me!

I used the stroller today while grocery shopping for the first time. Worked out great.

I have probably had 100 bags of the coastal berry blend trail mix from Costco since LO was born. What kind are you having??
Got LO to sleep in her bassinet tonight for the first time ever and she slept the exact same hours as before. She woke up around 2am and hopefully now won't wake until 7 like usual. Heres hoping!
Today LO and I went to watch my brother play football (Aussie rules) and the game was an hour away from where we live. LO slept the whole way there, fussed when we got into town for a bottle and on the way out I stopped at the service station to warm up another bottle, sat in the car and gave him that. Then he slept the whole way home.
Here's a picture of my little brother and LO. I think it's adorable with the size difference
weight check for LO again today - 9oz gain in 8 days! I been stuffing him!
Putting on a pound a week...I'm concerned I have a buffalo and not a human... And getting concerned. The pediatrician isn't and just sort of laughs it off, he likes to eat :-t , this better slow down soon
I ran last night for the first time in probably almost a year. 2.5 miles. I live in VT and there's not a flat piece of land near me and the hills usually kill me...I made it all the way up the first sustained hill without stopping! Not my fastest 2.5 miles but its a start!!

I have you beat lol. 1 pound in a week! Yikes! My dr thinks it's bc he has reflux and eating to soothe due to some other symptoms too. @HayesRN13 my ped had me pump for a feed today to see how much I'm producing. He was worried about oversupply. I got 5 ounces and fed him 4. He doesn't want him to continue that weight gain. I'm supposed to pump once a day for a feed a week and see what the pattern is.
LO pooped last night. Her last BM was Sunday. She's not dehydrated, I think she's working through the change in my diet. Her gas smells so bad, and she's been grunting and fussing since 3:30am, so I don't think she's done. The real accomplishment is I left her with DH and I'm at the coffee shop. ~O)
I've managed to get almost all of our laundry done, cooked a couple times, and ran the dishwasher over the past few days. Also went through LOs clothes and took out the things he's outgrown. All while he's sick.
I made it to 6 weeks breastfeeding. I didn't think I was going to for a while there, but I'm glad I stuck it out. It gets so much better. I never realized how tough it would be. Breastfeeding mamas, you can do it! You are doing great!
Probably a good 2 weeks now? LO has nights figured out from his days for sure.. We do a night bath routine... Then story.. Nurse...and the boy doesn't open his eyes until at least 8 am.. He will start to whine for middle of night feeding and stays asleep through it and goes right back down.. Let's hope this lasts =D>

Good work, mamas!
