Baby symptoms?

Re: Baby symptoms?

  • @paige0704 I know! I get that they want to spend time with him, but they're grown ups and they can understand why should stay away, he's 6 weeks old and sick now just because they can't deal with not seeing him. It's much easier for them to deal with missing him than him having to be sick.

  • @rrcameron21 you are too kind, thank you so much

@HayesRN13 I appreciate for your feedback, I am surely overanalyzing it. I feel like I should re-wash everything just in case!
  • @slr1229 hope she feels better soon! I think it's worse on us mama bears than it is for them

But for anyone that may experiencing the same thing, she said to bathe every night, cut out Johnston and Johnston shampoo and use Dove sensitive soap.

Are you near a target? The Shea Moisture baby eczema bar works wonders on both my kids rashes and is the only thing that helps MY heat rash and dry skin. None of us really have eczema, just sensitive skin. I wish I had discovered this before kids. I use it as my everyday soap now and for all baby baths.

  • starting to wonder if my LO is having an allergic reaction to our laundry soap or if im just using too much and its irritating his skin. we use tide free and clear so theres no scents or colour but i fill the cup up to the 2. his back is pretty much totally covered.
  • Heat rash and baby acne are worse this time of year and can come and go.. I notice my LO gets a bit worse when we are skin to skin.. I'm sweaty, he's sweaty.. It's a mess.. No worries mamas but check with peds to be sure :)
  • @HayesRN13 LO is still rashy, got cream today so we'll see if it helps and to your point above, I noticed her face breaks out more after she eats, hence the skin to skin and getting hot!
  • this is what his back looks like (i was just patting him so it is a little more red than usual) its on his face too and its dry and a little scaley. i really hope its something fixable like an irritation. its been like this for a week now. we originally thought it was heat rash.
  • @KarasTwin hope Henry is feeling better today. Can't believe it was from your in-laws, ugh. Hope they learn their lesson and baby boy feels better soon.
  • Ugh LO has another clogged tear duct. It's so gross looking! Although it doesn't seem to bother her.
  • @virginiaunicorn11, thanks! He's about the same. Nights are no fun since the congestion seems to be worse. The drainage is making him spit up. Thank God for the Nose Frida, I just wish there was something else I could do for him
  • @JessHeppell that's def a reaction to something. It could be foods you ate or it could be the detergent. Try dreft. I get it at the dollar store cheaper than reg stores.
If it's your diet....... Think about which foods you ate and try to eliminate some dairy.

Baby has thrown up all meals for past 24 hours and has blood in urine. Headed to hospital per nurse-line orders.

    I haven't stopped crying.

@JessHeppell if you scroll up you'll see my babies rash. The doc said it was a heat rash and gave us hydrocortisone and asked me to use dove sensitive skin soap for baths.

Edit: and I went and rewashed all of her clothes, blankets, etc just to be safe!
  • @lkr004 thinking of you and LO right now.
  • @lkr004 thinking of you mama...prayers for your LO and knowledge of the medical syaff

Poor thing! We spent 2 days in the hospital last weekend with LO for something unrelated. It is tough waiting for answers and results when they're so small, but I'm sure the docs and nurses will be on it right away! Sending thoughts and prayers!

well i did drink almost a litre of chocolate milk the other day. hopefully its mostly that. the bumps do seem to be going down a bit on his back at least, wonder if its cause he sleeps on his side.
i dont think any dollar store around here sells that brand. or laundry soap for that matter.
his face is really dry and his cheeks have little flakey scale like things on them. the skin beneath his eyebrows it weird and a yellowy crusty consistency.

    babies are so weird.

This looks like an allergic reaction.. Check with your peds .... You are totally immune (vaccinated) and have been checked for all the normal prenatal tests I assume?

It def seems like more than heat rash. But the yellow crusty eyebrow thing may be related to cradle cap...
  • Thinking of you, @lkr004 Any updates?
  • Prayers for you & your LO @lkr004
  • Update on mine, the chest and upper back rash has slowly disappeared since putting hydrocortisone on it, switching to Dove sensitive skin soap for both of us, and I've stopped eating yogurt and milk. So one of those things helped.

  • Has anyone been using gerber soothe probiotic drops for eczema? Im looking online and it says for colic.
  • Taking LO to the doctor today. She's had mucus in her poop for awhile now. Cutting dairy doesn't seem to be helping. Now the doctor wants her to come in. Her 2 month appt is next Monday... but they said they might give her some of her shots today since we're there. Now I have to mentally prepare. :(
  • Every morning my little girl wakes up screaming and screeching trying to get out her first poop of the day. The pediatrician said there's nothing we can really do about it, And that as she gets older she'll have more control of her muscles to get it out faster. After her first poop she's in a great mood. I'm wondering if any of this happens to any of you, and could it be something else besides she's just too young to get it out fast enough? I thought maybe a lactose issue, or maybe something I ate, but it happens every single morning. And she's fine throughout the rest of the day.
  • @cait7425 happens to us. Every morning between 6 and 7 she's over in her rock n play grunting, groaning, whining, and crying. I'm never sure how to help her, so I bring her into my bed and cuddle her. The doctor doesn't seem concerned.
  • @cait7425 it happens to my babe too. Normal. Their system is immature.
Sometimes I give him a baby glycerin suppository if it's causing him a lot of trouble/pain to poop.
  • @klkonwi @Sjeff0816 thanks so much! It makes me so sad watching her knowing I can't do much about it. I mentioned it to my Lactation Consultant this afternoon, and she gave me some belly massage tips to help get it out.
  • My breastfeeding coach told me to put a tiny bit of Vaseline on my pinky and gently massage their anus...idk if your up for it but it helps to get things out !
  • She hasn't pooped in 24 hours...waiting for all hell to break loose. She doesn't seem uncomfortable so I'm not worried but I'm sure it's going to be a blowout from hell!

You can try a qtip too!

My LO went 4 days, and it was a massive blowout. It will come when you least expect it. He had another blow out today during a feeding session, I didn't realize it until I pulled him away from me and it was in my belly button! Worst blow out yet.
  • LO's back looks like this now and the only real difference is less laundry soap in loads, and i havent had dairy since a couple days ago.
i miss my chocolate milk :c
  • @JessHeppell what kind of shampoo/soap are you using? The bumps sort of look like what my kiddo had. We switched to Dove sensitive skin soap and got a prescription for hydrocortisone...two and a half days later it faded.

This is my little guy exactly.. Every morning.. It's normal and sounds worse than it is.. It will go away... It takes him a while too, then he always has a huge poop and he's totally fine
