My water broke...prayers

My water broke Wednesday morning. I went to the emergency room and was put in a room where I stayed for 8 hours. Only to have my bp checked and baby monitored Mind you this the hospital I am or was going to deliver at. My doc came in at 8 and basically said there's nothing that can be done because I'm only 21 weeks. He wrote me a prescription and sent me home. I was mad as hell. So of course I got a second opinion. I know am at a hospital where I was admitted Wednesday evening. Started IV fluids and antibiotics, given a ultrasound and have been closely monitored. Baby is doing fine. I was told there's not much fluid around him but he's still moving with a strong heartbeat. I may be sent home Friday and will be on strict bed rest and drinking tons of water. I just need to make it to 23 weeks and I will be admitted to the hospital. Then I'll start steroid shots to help develop his lungs along with antibiotics and fluids. Being here and going through this has been tough but my son is a fighter so I have to be strong. Ice had some amazing doctors and nurses and some amazing people offer kind words and encouragement to me and my baby. Please pray for me and my baby.

Oh my, how scary! I'm sending you lots of positive thoughts and praying that your LO stays cooking and healthy. That's crazy that they won't admit you. I would try to go to a different hospital.? Or is that normal? ((((HUGS)))) Stay Strong!!

I'm so sorry this happened so early for you! My SIL went through something similar with her first, so I know the road ahead of you will be long and nerve-wracking. Take each day as it comes and I will be praying you wake up every morning with a healthy babe still inside you, and go to sleep every night knowing you are one day closer to baby's safe arrival. I'm thinking of you. Tell your baby to hang in there. My friend went into labor at 22 weeks and the baby survived. She was in NICU for quite awhile but she is now extremely strong, healthy, and full of life. I'm hoping this tidbit if info gives you more hope than fear, but just know we are all rooting for you. The technology and medical advances they have made even in the last couple of years for premies are amazing. I remember being amazed during my RN clinical how little some of the babies were and how strong they seemed.
