oh my goodness, that just happened here too (but she is about a month behind me).  I am trying to wait as long as I can since I started a new position but on my first day in the new position, a team member had been ill and it came out that she is pg and due in May.  That totally amped up my nerves on telling them, as if I wasn't nervous enough already!  Hopefully they will just be happy for me, as they have been very supportive of her.  I just fear because I am so new to the department where as she has been around for a bit.

I would wait...especially at work.  With DS I wanted to wait, but my hand was forced on the whole thing, and now I really wish I'd been able to do things on my own schedule. 

Plus, you will both want to revel in your very exciting news.  Telling now would kinda steal her thunder...and make your news an afterthought to someone else's.  Let her enjoy the spotlight for a while...THEN you can steal it!

I am waiting. I have a coworker due about 2 weeks after me, and a girl at church due 3 days before me. We're waiting until 12 weeks.  Besides, I kind of like knowing and them not knowing. They say things and I have lots of comments to add, but I keep them to myself. It'll be nice when we do tell too thgouh.

I think each work situation is different. If you want to tell, then tell.

I am telling next week, after my ultrasound, and I'll be 9 wks 3 days. My office is very small (5 of us total) and to me, it feels like the right time.
