I don't think we've had one of these threads in a while, and honestly I need some reassurance!
So at 30 weeks 2 days I have gained 15kg. .which is 33 lbs

(
Yes, I'm very happy that baby is healthy..but seriously I feel like I've doubled in size this week!
I'm hoping I'm not the only one who has gained this much...? (Come on..reassure me girlies :-S )
Re: Weight gain
I don't know what to do. Yes, I feel I am a bit more chubby than I want to be, but I don't look like a blob either. I am trying to eat as healthy as time and budget are allowing me. And really, on a given night do I spend the time I have to cook a healthy dinner? Or do I exercise? I don't have time for everything.
Why don't doctors and midwives talk about weight by saying you have gained more than they recommend (supposedly based on research for what is healthy) but ALSO say that perhaps it is partly due to a growth spurt of the baby or that you as a mom are gaining early? Why don't they mention those caveats, especially if there is no health concern?
I don't think this was what the op was looking for. Sounds like you are bragging while clearly the women on this post are struggling and concerned about something?
Also - I have a number in my head that if I pass this number in weight gain you all will likely see a meltdown weight gain thread on here started by me! Haha.
Anyway, at my last appointment, I expressed some concern about my weight gain to my doctor, but he was unconcerned. I've gained about 10 lbs in 6 weeks though, so I may be in for a scolding when I go in on Monday. However, I have had a healthy pregnancy so far.
I wouldn't worry about the number on the scale if the doctor isn't, though.
I"m 5'6 and have always been a bigger person around 180lbs with an athletic build and big boobs. Friends and family keep telling me how great I look, but I still see that number in my head. I'll get over it, but the struggle is real! "healthy baby healthy baby healthy baby"
