I think most moms think their child is more advanced than they should be for their age. What things has your baby done that seem like early accomplishments? It might be our imaginations but its still fun to brag about baby!

My guy rolled from front to back this morning while doing tummy time. I had a small towel rolled up under his chest. I stepped out of the room for literally 30 seconds and I come back in and he's flat on his back! They aren't supposed to do that until four months and he's only two! Maybe the towel gave him a boost, but this is the kid who lifted his head off my chest immediately after being born. So I think he's super strong! : )

What is the towel for? My LO isn't great at tummy time, probably because I'm not great at making enough time for it. But!

He holds his head up unassisted most of the time. He is also really good at tracking moving objects and turning his head. About half the time, he will turn and look when DH or I talk to him. And he just loves to watch and take it all in when we go out of the house - he's so good at restaurants and other social settings.

No idea if these are special for his age (probably not - 7 weeks), but they're things he does that make him and me happy.

one the 3rd day of his life, the nurse that visited us at home put him on his tummy and he turned his head from one side to the other. :>

ETA: and his growth rate is 50% faster than the average baby. (at least at the last check up)

LO can hold his head up like a champ at one month. He tracks, but only if it's me. He will follow me around the room when DH is holding him. He's also started making distinct noises for certian things. The dogs have their own little squeak when he sees them walk by.

At one month LO started rolling front to back. But it's not all the time so...other than that she's on track and does nothing special haha. She's cooing and chatting, smiling, focusing on me a few feet away, etc. no baby genius here.

LO is giving real smiles when we laugh and smile at him and 'boop' his nose. At least, I think they are real smiles...they happen consistently during the same activities! He also will hold his head up for several seconds when on his tummy and stare at me when I'm on the floor with him. He's 1 month today!

I wonder, since he was 2 weeks late, if he hits milestones early? I don't know if thats how it works...

I don't think this is advanced for her age, but I am so happy that she's smiling so much! Although I know she's healthy and safe, the one thing I want to know is that she's happy. So her little smiles make me feel like she is :x

I'm most proud of her kick a$$ sleep habits. They're not perfect, but gosh she's so young and she seems to continue to improve even though she already almost sleeps through the night. I hardly talk about her sleep on here because I know so many others struggle with it. Everyone will find their groove...and SOON I hope. I am so grateful each and every night.

LO was smiling at 10 days. He tracks just awesomely. Can turn his head back and forth while on his tummy. He is almost 4 weeks.

@virginiaunicorn11 I put the towel or blanket rolled up lengthwise under lo's chest with his arms by his head. It just gives him a little boost up so he's not flat face down. He seems to prefer it.

My DS smiles whenever he sees me! When someone's holding him if I get his attention he gets the biggest smile on his face. Best thing in the world.

My LO holds his head up pretty well (not during tummy time really, he just likes to fall asleep during tummy time!) he tracks objects and people, smiles and coos when we smile at him, and also responds to his name (example-stops crying if I say his name and he looks at me) so of course I think he's super advanced haha we J15 moms have some pretty smart kids!

LO is 3rd percentile for height/weight but everyone comments on her strength and calm nature. She lifts her head when held and moves it around for about 10 seconds has a break & does it again. Never cries, probably only cries for 5 minutes a day at most.

The best thing about her is she sleeps from 10pm-7am since 4 weeks old.

Mine holds head up when I burp her for a very long time just looking around and turning her head. She's been doing so since 3 weeks- she's 4 weeks now. Love all the smiles and focusing on mom!

LO is transitioning to his crib nicely. He's taking a swaddle now at about 8 weeks (thankfully) and is blowing down sleep from about 10-4 consistently. Oh and he's now figured out how to poop without a bottle in his mouth. Good progress.

Woohoo, LO now sleeps from 10:15pm-6:15am!
The other night I had the longest stretch of sleep since I think I was 6 months pregnant! I woke up sore, I think because I barely moved.

LO can hold her head up so well! She can also roll from her stomach to her back and scoot herself around when she's flat on her back! She stretches out her legs and arms and scoots herself sideways somehow. But girl can move! I think she gets frustrated cause she can't move as much as she wants to, but for 7 weeks I say she's doing pretty good!

We are also transitioning to sleeping in her pack n play instead of mommy and daddy's bed!!! We are two nights down and going strong!! I hope this lasts and isn't just a fluke cause I sure do enjoy having my own bed back and I know daddy enjoys the tiny bit of alone time also

My girls have the uncanny ability to pull random strangers in to comment on them. It's a gift. Boy I love grocery shopping and having people stop and said "there's 2 of them!" Also, they can spit up like pros! And they can tandem cry and out loud any living person lol

Haha but actually they're behind my first DD. By 7 weeks I was putting her into my bumbo and I swear she lifted her head off my chest from the moment she was born. These girls have just mastered smiling and are still working on head control.

LO is so good at night, he's actually easier to manage than during the day. He'll only sleep for 4 1/2 hours at the longest stretch, but I don't really mind as he's such a pleasure to deal with. He tends to fall asleep while eating but will wake up when I burp him and change him so he finishes his feed after that then gets drowsy and will go down in his bassinet really easily - no rocking or soothing required. It's probably mostly luck but I think that trying to be consistent at night for the last month has really helped.

The only problem is that from 7am onwards he doesn't want to be in his bassinet, even if he's still sleepy he has to come for a cuddle. My mum has been staying with us so she's happy to provide the cuddles, but she goes home tonight so no more lie ins for me!

I sometimes forget that I need to support her head, because my girl has been lifting it off my chest since the moment she was born. She holds it up really well when she's on my shoulder. She started smiling at 3.5 weeks, and during tummy time she scoots a little, lifts her head, and can turn it side to side. She's also really awesome at aiming. She's able to somehow get all her spit up to go right down my shirt and pool in my bra even when it seems impossible.

Same here! I could drape a blanket on me and she'd still find the only crevice and then spit up down it. I call it "off roading".

Our little bird is a big boy, he's in the 98th percentile for length and 50th for weight.

When he was born he was able to hold his own head up for a few seconds without support and works on this all day everyday. He now holds his own head up while sitting, just needs some help staying balanced every few seconds. He loves tummy time and now even uses his hands to try to push himself up while on your chest. Doc says babe is incredibly strong, so we should expect a little athlete.

My baby also lifted his head when we were doing skin to skin time immediately after birth. He's such a strong boy. He's five weeks and can hold his head up lift himself up for minutes at a time not extended periods.He tracks things awesomely. He's reaching all his milestones. He held his own bottle at two weeks and tries it often. And he flips the bird. Mommas so proud :-)

Five and a half weeks and he just started smiling directly at us and tracking objects and faces better. This morning he held his head up really well during tummy time, and I was so proud! Playing with rattles and batting at a mobile is new for him...finally we can do a few "activities" other than eating and sleep.

LO has an internal clock like no other baby I've seen. He is ready to eat every three hours, almost to the minute. Lol. He has not slept for longer than three hours yet and has started to shorten his naps to 20 minutes max.

@klkonwi I feel like mine doesn't track often. It seems like she's just distracted with other things but occasionally it worries me too!

Mine didn't start until just recently 6-7 weeks. Also didn't start cooing until recently too and it's still minimal. I wasn't worried because I didn't know there was a time they started doing that stuff. I know all babies are different. I wouldn't worry. You'll see him do that stuff soon.

LO slept from 10pm-4:45am this morning! DS1 was sleeping through the night at 7 weeks and DS2 will be 7 weeks on Monday. We're so close!

I think it's probably too early to be worried. They will check for this at his two month appointment. A lot happens in 3 weeks!

Our LO has the day and night time situation pretty down almost since birth. During her night feeding she will eat and fall right back to sleep after. Granted she does that for a lot of her day time feedings but she sleeps longer stretches at night

So wait, my girl is 7 week (8 on Tuesday), can babies go 8 hours during the night that without eating? I nurse her twice during the night when she's half asleep, from 10-8am.

She doesn't wake up crying she just starts stirring a lot, so I nurse her and she goes back to a deep sleep.

When ppl talk about sleeping through the night are we excluding nursing/feeding?

My LO is sleeping 5-6 hour stretches with no feedings, but makes up for it during the day and eats a lot!
