Hi! We just had an IUI this morning and I was just wondering what sperm count you guys has post wash? I'm worried DH was on the low side...8 million. I can't find any information and I'm trying to avoid Google during the 2WW!

Re: IUI post wash sperm count

  • I'll find out next week when I do mine. :-)
  • Loading the player...
  • Good luck next week! I'm hoping 8 million is enough but the internet leaves me doubtful. Need to stay off!
  • My husband for this iui we just had on Sunday was 30 million after the wash. I thought my dr said anything over 10 million is good but I could be wrong! I'm sure if it wasn't good your dr wouldn't have proceeded with the iui
  • Anything over 10 million is ideal. But, 5-10 million is good!
My doctor had my husband abstain for 2-3 days pre IUI. He said this provides the best amount of "healthy swimmers". If you abstain too long some can die off, and too short-you can have too little.
Hope that helps!! Out of 8 million, you only need 1! So cliche but so true!! :)
    Best of luck!

Ttc since March 2012 Me: 24 Dh: 25 Mother of many fur/feathered-babies! 3 dogs (Phoenix,Lacey,Piper), 4 cats (Grace,Delilah,Elvira,Birdie), 7 ducks, and 4 hens! • i think mine was around 15 million.  8 million seems totally fine with timed IUI!  plus, you'll probably have sex in the next day or so (or day or so before) so there are lots more up there helping those 8 million swim!
  • oh i should add that i got pregnant via IUI twice with those numbers, too :)
  • Thanks girloffaith! You give me hope! Going in today for one more IUI! Hoping for a slightly higher count today!!
  • I read on a board on fertility friend someone's DH had a count of 5 million and she got pregnant with an IUI. Good luck to you!
