@dancegurl1118 I went to a meeting during pregnancy and they were super nice. Probably the nicest, least judgmental group of moms I've come across. On their FB page you can post pics and they give pointers to wear better. I've never seen a snarky comment.
Ohhhh I so want to go to a BWI meeting too.... But am also SO intimidated. I joined the local FB group & B/S/T Group and there are so many carriers and Wearing lingo! I also have a ktan and ergo and feel like a total rookie :-SS
Maybe I just feel like I'm not cool enough..I don't know anyone I've heard talk about it always made me feel like it was an exclusive group. I will reserve all further judgement until I go. Thanks for knocking me down a peg I appreciate it!!

Yep! Grey boba. It took 2 of us to figure it out but now that I have it figured out it's nice!!! The 1st time have someone help you and don't get it all twisted like I did! I might have my mom make it shorter. It's too much fabric. It's made so if u wanted you could carry a large child/2 year old.
How big of a kid can you carry in the Boba? I already feel like my kid is heavy for it at 14-15 lbs. Maybe when he has better head control it will feel better. I have a Beco but I like the look of the Boba and how soft it is.
I am ridiculously excited for my Ktan to be delivered. My sister sent her old Baby Bjorn, but LO isn't 8# yet so he is not supposed to go in it yet. I know the Ktan also technically has a 8# recommendation, but if its supposedly 'great for premies' then I should be able to use it before 8#, right? Anyway, I'm truly almost antsy with waiting for it to arrive, and also really annoyed that its coming tomorrow or Thursday, cause I won't get a chance to try it until Friday at the earliest - I don't want to try to be fitting LO into a carrier by myself and DH will be on duty both Wednesday and Thursday. First world baby wearing problems. :P

I got mine today. I ordered a Ktan active but it was too big. I should have ordered a small. The waist was find but the shoulder area was a little baggy by her head. So I re ordered a small orginiak. Hoping that works! My question is do you think wearing your baby will spoil them and make them not want to be down by themselves during the day or night?

I put my baby in it at 6.5ish. He loves it. Just make sure you do the safety checks. The most concerning area for me was the finger spacing under his chin when he was that little.
According to the net. Max weight is 45 pounds and minimum is 7 lb. Must be why there is waaay too much fabric! Lol.... 45 lb is a kindergartener! @henrytviii
I'm a frequent lurker and infrequent poster on this board. I feel like this question has been dealt with in the past week, but I did a search for the topic and came up empty so I do apologize for the duplication!
My daughter (6 weeks old today) does not sleep well at all in her bassinet. She will only sleep on my chest or my husband's. Even if I push the bassinet very close to the side of the bed where I'm sleeping and keep my hand on her chest/belly she still cries and cries. We typically only put her in the bassinet when she is solidly asleep. Even then, she wakes up after about 10 minutes and really freaks out. We have tried various soothing techniques and are following the steps from Happiest Baby on the Block. Still no luck!
While I do love the infant cuddles, I have concerns about co-sleeping. I know it's hugely beneficial for families who practice it, but I can't escape the fear that I will roll over on her or that she will suffocate on a pillow or something.
My only suggestion is to not put her in the bassinet when soundly asleep, usually if they startle and wake up (as many do) not being in the same place is scary for them and that's why they cry b

@jennlun I am also working on getting baby to sleep in the pack n play (he's 4 weeks). What has helped so far - swaddling well. Really well. Arms and legs and wrapped fairly tightly. My guy tends to fling his arms around and his movements will wake him up. Also, he kinda squirms as he is falling asleep, and if his swaddle isn't tight he will work his arms out of it - like @dancegurl1118 says, try putting them into their sleep space when they are still awake. My pediatrician suggested this also. They should go to sleep in their crib / whatever. My guy would also wake up and cry if I put him in when he was already asleep. With him going in really drowsy, he just kinda moves and whimpers himself to sleep, which brings me to... - the hardest thing for me was that while they are falling asleep they do move around and make noise and maybe even sound like they are going to begin to cry... And I'm not supposed to do anything about that. I have having a hard time letting him learn to self soothe. I do also put my hand on his tummy, but I used to pick him up and try to soothe him at every noise. Now I try to give it some time to wait out these random noises if it seems like he isn't in distress - I also use a white noise app while he is doing his squirm and mutter himself to sleep.
This is just the stuff I have learned and are trying to work with as I go on this journey to having LO not be in bed with us. As it is, by the last wake / feeding of the night (around 4-6am) he usually won't go back to sleep in the pack n play. I still try it, but he just won't have it at that time, maybe its because it is beginning to get light? I dunno. But I usually have to have him cuddle with me if I want to scratch out an extra two hours of sleep or so
so.. awkward question. how are ya'll's anals doing?
At this point, OK. Doing, er, business can still make me nervous sometimes (I forget when I stopped taking the stool softeners, but I'm not taking 'em). But at 2 weeks I was definitely still not into it. My main problem now is that I'm having digestion issues off and on, which makes me scared of my anal again when that happens. :-S

TMI butttt I stopped taking the stool softener and mine hurt bad when I went to the bathroom. I started taking them again cause my poor butt can't take it.
@JessHeppell since I tore through my anal....... I have a new reconstructed anal. I still have pain when pooping and walking long distances. Oh what fun!
so.. awkward question. how are ya'll's anals doing?
It took me 13 days to have a regular poo after my csection. My anal is still recovering. Coffee has been my miracle stool softener... Otherwise it's SOO painful.
yeah im 15 days PP now and trying to go poo is terrifying. i already struggled with going before i even got pregnant. the stool softeners dont seem to be helping other than the first time after giving birth. ive bought a jug of prune nectar and it is so gross. i cant down a glass of it. im trying to drink a bunch of liquid but idk if its enough or if its just my system (i had issues as a child with going as well) i just cant wait till im all healed.
@JessHeppell we are the same! I had major issues with constipation when I was young too! But, never this bad. My fiancé got me a huge jug or prune juice and forced me to drink a glass every night. Have you ever tried milk of magnesia? That seemed to help a lot! Also, taking a break from my prenatal vitamins helped.
Good luck! I felt like anal issues were worse than the csection pain for me.
I'm 6.5 weeks pp and #2 is still painful for me. Doc said I should feel better in a couple weeks. I used to go like clockwork every morning when I woke up but now I'm more irregular. No idea why. Ugh. My perineum still really hurts, too, and feels out of place or something lol!
I'm 7 weeks and my anal is still a mess sometimes. If I have to go, I HAVE TO GO. Plus my internal hemorrhoids make going A+ fun. Still bleeding when I go yay! Not to mention pregnancy fixed all my bowel issues but now they're back so I alternate from diarrhea and not going for a few days.

So we are going to the beach for a family thing on Sunday. How the heck does one bring a 8 week old infant to the beach? What do I need to do/prepare and NOT do? Can and should I bring her onto the beach or should I stay in the house? What does LO wear? Help!
@hoodoll82 we are going to the beach when LO is 7 weeks. I bought a small beach tent ( I am going to use it for LO at my stepsons baseball games as well). I also ran across a link on Pinterest recently about this. It said to bring your boppy and a Muslim clothe blanket. You can wet the blanket and it will be nice and cool to put on LO. Also said to bring a battery operated portable fan ( I got a small one at bed bath and beyond) and to bring baby powder in case any sand hotly on LO so not to irritate the skin. Hope this helps. If you come up with anything else or something works really well, can you share? Thanks!!

Yeah this is me minus the bleeding and the hemorrhoids. Pre- pregnancy I tended towards having softer stools, and actually enjoyed a bit of normalcy during pregnancy with frequency and 'structure'. Now I've basically gone back to before, which is why I don't take the softeners anymore. I'm fine in that dept. Also, the urgency is something I had forgotten until she mentioned it, if I feel like I have to go, I have to go do that forthwith otherwise there could be an issue. That's another reason I don't take the stool softeners anymore - they made that urgency worse. So, its OK for me in that it doesn't really hurt and I'm able to not use the softeners, but its different and still has some (mostly) manageable drawbacks

I read I think on Pinterest to bring a baby bathtub to fill with water that you can set LO in to help stay cool. Just wanted to throw that out there.
@JessHeppell I'm glad you brought it up because I was afraid I somehow ruined my asshole and I haven't talked to ANYONE about it. I had two stitches. For some reason my poo is so big and I don't know how its coming out of me. Medicine isn't making it any better. I also was lucky enough to get hemriods during pregnancy so that's added torture. My Dr prescribed lidocaine lube for after I go. It helps once it finally kicks in.
I am having the opposite issue-my husband won't even consider sex at 6 weeks because the IUD doesn't go in until 8 weeks, and the midwife was like, "IF THERE IS ANY CHANCE YOU ARE PREGNANT WE CAN'T PUT IT IN so no unprotected sex" and my DH was like, I am not using condoms. He might be the only husband in the world ready to wait 2 extra weeks to avoid latex, haha.
Also, wasn't sure if this was FFQ/Random/Nightime so I am just gonna post it here-I am trying to get LO to sleep in the crib instead of the swing, where he has previously been sleeping due to reflux. His reflux has gotten better, but when I have him nap on a flat surface he wakes up with a wet back because of spit up. Those of you dealing with reflux and transitioning to pack and play/crib-what do you do about this? Is there some trick to getting LO elevated that's safe? I don't mind leaving him in the swing a bit longer but his crazy infant babble on the way to sleep/intense poop noises are starting to not be cute when they happen at 3 am, haha.

1. My DH is the same. Has not mentioned getting busy once I mentioned we'd have to use condoms! That's what happens when you've been together forever, I guess... 2. This may sound terrible, but before we treated her reflux, I just lived with the fact that no matter how long I kept LO upright, she was gonna spit up something in the pack and play. It doesn't seem to hurt her, she doesn't choke, her shirt gets a bit damp and it means extra changes of outfits and sheets in the morning, but other than that, we just went with it... I have heard that you can use a wedge (?) That being said, she spit up in the rock and play too, so the incline didn't do much for us - so maybe that's why I'm a bit nonchalant about it in the crib since it was gonna happen either way?
Even with the new reflux treatment she still spits up a tiny bit occasionally in the crib but nothing dangerous as far as I can tell. I do still hold her upright as long as I can stand it in the wee hours before putting her down. If I can only do it for a few minutes (ie not 20-30), I'll put her to sleep in the rock and play instead until the next feeding.

Our ped told us to put a rolled up towel under the crib mattress to elevate the head a bit. We haven't transitioned to the crib yet, so have not tried this.
@swiebe thanks for the input-I thought I remembered something about a rolled up towel but couldn't remember where it was supposed to go!
@hoodoll82 you are right its not a dangerous amount of spit up...I suppose I just get frustrated at all the clothing changes, haha. Although he's never in the wet clothing for too long, he only goes 2-3 hours without eating so if he can sleep through it I don't know why I find it so hard!
I have a question - you know when you get new bottles they all say to sterilize by boiling in water for 5 minutes? Must you use boiling water or can you use a microwave sterilizer instead? Cause I just used my microwave sterilizer for them and I finished and felt a wave of doubt for not boiling them. Ugh, mommy doubts

@mellymar I think you're just more efficient! It's all a racket. LOL (Tired mom advice)
What's the point in sterilizing? The 2 year old puts LO'S pacifier in his mouth when I'm not looking. Have you ever seen how dirty a 2 year old boy is?
