It came with the crib set given to us with our first so I tied it to the outside of the crib so there's no suffocation risk and it will still keep the paci from falling out (when she's older and we lower the crib).
  • I see no point in putting my child's life in danger because I want my crib to look cute.
  • No, no, and no. Definately not worth the risk.
  • One less thing to buy AND it's potentially dangerous? Definitely not getting them.
  • Touchy subject op. I remember a thread about this many moons ago that did not go well at all. For me they are a no.
  • The breathable crib liners are really nice and safe. I have one, my SIL got one, and my best friend has one. Once the littles are big enough to really move around the crib and grab through the rails they are nice.

I feel the same way about them as I do about most things you could be better educated about with 45 seconds of googling.

Will you be in Cali anytime soon? I think I need to meet you. Ha!
I was just thinking the same thing! Omg too funny

  • I ordered one from Portery Barn Kids, but returned it quickly. Back in 2004 when I had my daughter they were acceptable. Based on SIDS research.. Not so acceptable anymore. Not worth the risk.
  • Our hospital said no to both the regular bumpers and the breathable ones. To me, it's not worth the risk.
  • Not for me and my babies.
  • Decided not to do bumpers bc of the risks associated with them. We went with rail guards instead for some added color. I haven't heard anything negative about them and a lot of designers are offering them instead of bumpers now.

  • I'm glad so many people are skipping them! I have a friend who lost their first baby to SIDS because of soft bedding. So heartbreaking. It's definitely not worth the risk.

I just can't today. It's like something happened over the weekend and a whole new level of stupid cropped up. Maybe third trimester sleep deprivation is destroying people's brain cells? Because seriously, each thread today has been dumber than the last!!

Ok. So for all the grouchy pregos out there who "just can't" on just about every thread I read (often the same repeating women) then why do you comment? People are just asking questions. Theyre asking for advice, whether it is something you find boring or stupid doesn't matter. And often your comments are unwanted. If you don't have things to add or something nice to say...then don't! If you "just can't today" then don't get on the app and scour through the feeds commenting with your negativity. Oh and on the topic of crib bumpers I will pass because I don't want to risk suffocation. But I do like the idea of sewing them into a wall hanging :)

Take your own advice. People can say what they want on any post they want.
  • We never bothered getting a fancy crib bedding set because we knew we wouldn't use much of the contents. We use the mesh breathable bumpers.

I totally agree. I usually only read the July thread because the same 3-5 women in the August thread get so nasty with other people it becomes an unpleasant experience for the readers. I chalk it up to hormones but holy hell they could use a chill pill and a hobby.

And yes, as established, no to anything other than crib, mattress, fitted sheet and baby.

Your first paragraph makes no sense. And no one is being nasty so I'm not sure where that came from.

No to bumpers OP, rail guards are cute though.

Not in the crib, but if you've already purchased one, there are great ideas for repurposing on pinterest.
  • @CaliforniaDream87 oh my freaking gosh!!!!!!!!!!!! That is the funniest freaking thing I have seen my whole time being on the bump!

Report for what? Somebody having a different opinion than you?

Let them report @emilyshredder. Once admin reviews they will see the butthurt and in turn ban them. No one in this thread has violated TOS, period. *shrugs*

I disagree and think many bump users will agree you are creating a negative experience
    Guidelines clearly indicate:
Escalating a situation and/or causing a negative experience for the community

Report all you want! As stated, no one has violated TOS in this thread.

    This is hilarious.

  • I don't think it's a negative experience at all. And I also think if the OP has an issue with any PPs, she is a big girl and can say so herself.
  • Loving all the action tonight =D>
