11 wks tomorrow and seem to be turning the corner on MS, but holy heartburn/indigestion/gas. The doc OKed daily tums but I find myself apprehensive to eat at work because crippling stomach pain makes sitting upright at my desk feel like midievil torture.

Ah, thanks for this! I have been eating TUMS often (not daily) and I have been meaning to make sure they were okay during pregnancy so thank you for answering that for me!

They're also a good source of calcium.

Ugh I haven't had much nausea but the heat is the worst. Don't you wish we were big enough to have baby bumps already so people would offer their seat? Lol. I hate that no one can tell I'm pregnant yet.

  • Whining moment.. You know you're pregnant when you drive 10 minutes outta your way to get a bagel you really want and have to fight back tears when they're out of that kind.. Argh!! :((

I've noticed since I started taking prenatal that my nausea has cut down a lot. I take it at night. Anybody else have this happen? I feel like most people I've spoken to/read on forums that the vitamins make the nausea worse. Thoughts?

    @dragonfly321
Pharmacist actually recommended morning for taking my prescription prenatal. Said the B vitamins can help with nausea. I have not had nausea for a couple weeks now tho may be due to being 11+ weeks.
  • Wishing I had a weekend after my weekend . . . it felt like just more work! My nausia was pretty bad on Saturday and not great Sunday (although my "pretty bad" probably doesn't even touch most ladies' "pretty good" . . . I've had it easy in that regard) and my usual exhaustion was kicking my butt. Today, though, I'm actually feeling better than usual! Still tired, but not like I'm going to fall asleep at my desk, and not all that queasy . . . I'm cautiously hoping that the tide is starting to turn (even though I know it probably isn't yet)
  • I actually feel decent today for the first time in a long time.  I'm still tired, but not as tired as I have been.  I'm betting it's just today since I was able to get some good sleep this weekend.  I also have my second doctors appointment tomorrow so i'm super excited to hear this little one's heartbeat once again.

UGHS YES!!! I was so nauseous last Monday that I started sweating and I was glaring at the guy sitting at the priority seats.

Won't that be nice! I can't stand for more than like 10 minutes before it starts making me feel sick (not sure why but it does!)
  • Heartburn and indigestion have been rough for me too.  I've been getting Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar drinks from Whole Foods, and they have helped a lot with both (something about the vinegar helps), but they are pricey.  I'm going to try making my own with Stevia and apple cider vinegar.  I've also switched to Rainbow Light prenatal, which has probiotics.  This has drastically decreased the amount of gas I have every day.  I would highly recommend daily probiotics to anyone suffering.

  • I am feeling pretty good for once. I hope being almost 11 weeks that I am moving away from the nausea and exhaustion. I have a dating scan tomorrow at 745 am and they told me to drink 32 oz of water at least on hour before my appointment. So I get to wake up extra early and choke down a bunch of water, fun. But I am excited for the scan so it will be worth it.

They told me that too about the water, and then when I went to check in the receptionist told me my appointment was an hour later at a different office location. I almost peed my pants. Luckily I made it to my u/s and focused really hard on not going to the bathroom that I made it through.

@hlmdeck and @TheBeggsBunch: I have a friend who swears by papaya enzymes for heartburn. It's supposed to be amazing. I haven't been getting any yet so I haven't had a chance to try it but I hear it works wonders! You can usually get it at community food co-op/natural health food places.

  • I had my 12 week ultrasound/NFT today. It was great to see the baby again especially now that he or she looks like a baby now. It was definitely emotional hearing the heartbeat for the first time. At our 8 week u/s, we saw the heart beating but there was no sound on the machine. Everything was measuring on track, the baby was even measuring two days bigger (I'm chalking that up to my husband's genetics). The tech said it was a little too early to tell the sex but she saw that it either was a boy or it was the umbilical cord... We'll see! Should know at the next one :)
I can't wait to start shopping! So happy to see everything is ok because I don't have many symptoms.

I have my second u/s tomorrow and heard about the water trick. Do you think it enhanced the quality of the scan? I just wanted thoughts to see if I should make myself drink that before I go. lol Thanks

I also drank a big bottle of water before my scan and the first thing that tech asked me to do was to go to the bathroom and empty my bladder lol.

They asked me if my bladder was full, I said yes, and then they started the scan. I got to go to the bathroom afterwards.

  • Anyone having lightning breast? I assume it's like lightning crotch but in the boob. Hit me hard last night!
  • Whine: yesterday my husband and I went to a baby store just to check out some big ticket items and start researching them. We went to dinner last with my in laws and shared this info with them. My mother in law informed me she already had a crib, picked out bedding for the nursery at her house (what?). Oh and that she was going to buy a pack n play and wanted her own car seat so she could just come by and get the kid whenever and not have to worry about moving a car seat around. Whaaaaaat?!?!

I'm trying to remind myself my husband is an only child, so what she gets from me is it.

I just smiled and just told her that many places offer a discount on remaining items on a registry before the baby is born. I said once it gets closer and after any showers, I could put the items she wants on a registry so could get the discount! I figure I'll just let her spend her money on whatever and see how things play out once the baby gets here.
  • Total whine fest: I'm having a really really bad day. I had an appointment this morning and went for blood work after. They said about 5 viles so I was like oh nothing major, forced down a snack and a juice and got there and found out I had misheard. Not 5 viles, but 15.... Excuuuuuse me?

Needless to say I almost passed out and had three nurses rushing to help me, barfed all over the place (poor other people in the same room) and had to call my husband to come get me and I've felt drained the entire day.

Also I had my normal morning puking and started a brand new job today. I just want to cry. Meh

That sounds so rough. I hope you can get some food down and feel better soon. 15 is a lot! I know after I donate blood I feel pretty weak. Eat something with iron!
  • I had a really big impromptu conversation today with my boss's boss's boss where I might be able to justify working full time instead of 24 hours a week (read part time = MASSIVE PAY CUT or I will pay for daycare x2 and that's pretty much it).  I swear I nearly burst into tears fifteen thousand times during my conversation.   Somehow I made it through dry eyed.

DD go sent home from daycare day due to a fever of 101.3.  We're both feeling not so great this evening.  Hopefully this will pass quickly.

FIFTEEN!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought seven sucked.  Gosh!
  • Just been out and a (not so close) friend just prodded my belly repeatedly before giving me a smile and walking away.  Now either he is incredibly rude and saying I'm a porker or someone (out of the VERY small number who know) has told him. Either way I'm grumpy.
