Re: What is your plan? *My attempt to round everyone up*

  • @Katm89 I'm excited to see the charts. At the moment, I know when I'm ovulating; I have a polyp in my uterus and I tend to spot during ovulation. Soon I will be on my own, which I am excited about. I will have it removed, plus a D&C at the beginning of August <--Another thing we had to plan for and get done before TTC in December.

@jenfarm3 So true!! As much as anyone can plan, it can never be THE right time, hah!

@HookEmNelson I'm sorry you have to go through that. You are more experienced than I am too, this will be our first child and really I have had no need until now to learn about my cycle. I had no idea until I read TCOYF that you ovulate 2 weeks before AF. I actually thought the egg coming down and not being fertilized triggered AF and immediately happen and that the egg came out haha. So foolish right? At least I am smart enough to know that I should read a book.
  • @Katm89 No need to feel bad at all. I'm thankful that it is just a polyp, hah! Y'all will have to keep me in your thoughts that week.

Oh and I'm still learning. Our bodies are insanely amazing. We make people! I say read those books! They can only help out and I'm actually going to go ahead and buy TCOYF tonight. I still don't quite understand all the lingo. It's a lot of acronyms for my brain to memorize.

Can I just say, I REALLY enjoy supporting and getting to know y'all?! I was not this active on TB back in 2010 and '11 - I wish I would have been.

TYOYF was the best. I stayed up to midnight reading it. I will deff be thinking of you :). I had always had baby fever and focused on learning... but learning more about birth and documentaries and such about home birth. I never thought to research TTC until I met a friend with PCOS and she told me of her past marriage and how hard it was to try and try for 2 years. She knows so much and made me really interested. Who knew there was so much to learn. The next book I plan on reading before pregnancy is "What to expect when you're expecting". I hear it's scary if you are pregnant but i think I can take it before hand. I also want to read "the impatient woman's guide to pregnancy".
  • I really tried to read "What to Expect.." I just couldn't get through it. I remember really getting into just the weekly changes of the baby. You will have to tell me what you think of "The impatient woman's guide to pregnancy."

This birthing time around I plan on going completely natural in a hospital. I'm making friends with one local doula at the moment and I am excited for this. I went pain med free on my induction, right at 9 cm (my epi stopped working) and felt the top of his head to the tips of his toes. Crazy experience, but it made me realize I could probably do the whole thing naturally if I had the right tools.

I think the fear of the pain is probably worse than the pain...
  • It's only temporary and once you are clear to push it is the best feeling!! You will do great, friend!

Thanks, I hope so. My mother had a home birth at 36. We live in an apartment right now, so my midwife will deliver at the hospital
  • Just jumping in to say hello! My DH (trying to use proper acronyms) and I have been married for 6 years now, and plan to TTC this September. We have some vacations scheduled for late October and January so whatever happens I am hoping for the best! Best of luck to everyone and hope to connect with everyone on the boards :)

I'm starting temping tomorrow! So excited! I found the emailed lessons from FF super helpful for understanding it all.
  • You guys are motivating on this charting!!
  • Good Luck!
  • I think I have decided for the both of us that we are starting TTC this month :) DH and I are both EXTREMELY indecisive about it so I am taking the lead on this and hoping its a short journey to parenthood! We both decided I would stop taking BCP's in May (after 8 years) because I get all the crazy side effects and don't feel like myself when on them. We are both terrified but I think everyone is when you are about to make a life changing decision!. Good luck to all of you!!!!
  • DH and I have discussed the "maybe someday" timeframe....I personally have set a few goals.
Currently I am trying to save money (just recovered from a big financial blow, due to an endometriosis surgery + my cats' dental surgeries all at once)

I also am hesitant to even stop the BCP due to my endometriosis. I have hyped myself up about how terrible and hormonal I was before BCP.....I might be fine but I'm unsure.

In the long term, I'd like to say within 2 years. I don't know.
  • Hey there!  I lurk a ton here.

We've been together 6 years and married 2 years.  We actually just set up a more firm baby timeline and I'm super excited.  This spring we're going to do a bunch of home improvements and then the fall after we want to one more big vacation and begin TTC on the trip.  So basically a little less than 1.5 years.
  • @BlueBirdMB glad you came out and joined in! There are a few of us that have to pass the time. We are in this together! Welcome!
  • Another lurker here! Hopefully I'll be more of a regular soon!

H and I plan to start at the end of August when my pill pack ends, but its contingent on buying a house.  We were supposed to close at the end of this month, but the (very sweet old woman) seller is getting cold feet about moving.  She tried to cancel the contract and we compromised by moving the closing date back two weeks.  I'm all kinds of nervous and excited and stressed about how this is going to wind up!

  • Hubby and I have been trying since January. Been off BC for a year & 3 mos. and have been charting CM with creighton model. (Reading about some of you wanting to start.. Highly recommend it. Brought hubs & me closer & sooo great to feel I actually know my body.. Was on pills since I was 15, and finally off at 25, for ovarian cysts & cycle was so out of whack. Feeling it's much better now!) Been using clomid last 2 cycles & HCG shots on this last cycle. Got to day 14 post peak & got a little excited to join the March due date girls. Started round 3 of clomid last week. Fingers crossed & praying hard HCG gets something to stick this time around. Just can't wait.. Really excited to start our family.

Feels so funny to share because I haven't opened up to very many people In our family/friend circles.. but love the excitement on here and it's making me feel so encouraged & uifted. God has a plan.. Trying to trust it.
  • @housewifehobbyist Glad you posted and feel free to join in anywhere! Welcome! Also, I hope everything pushes through with the house and y'all make it to closing. I just went through that a littler over a week ago. So glad it is behind us. Hang in there!

@skop823 Glad you are here too! Hope this month is THE month for you and your husband! Keep us updated, friend!
  • Hi! New to The Bump (so many acronyms to learn!). I'm 26 and DH is 27. We got married in January and have been together for just about 8 years.

We have recently decided that we'll start TTC in Spring 2016. I'll hit prenatal vitamins and start charting in the new year and we'll start TTC around April 2016.

I have WAY more baby-fever than DH--it hit me hard a few weeks ago.
He's totally on board with TTC in spring 2016, but I think he'll be a bit more excited when the trying gets going and the thought of a baby gets a little more real!

Right now: focusing on getting into a good fitness routine and eating well (I've been in a rut and have added about 20lbs this year ugh!). Want to be the best version of myself--mentally and physcially--before TTC.

I saw your post on TN-that sucks! I hope it all works out! You're between a rock and a hard place. Having it tied to TTC must be extra tough.

@skop823 I've heard some scary stories about clomid on here. Are you taking it from an RE or an OB? Apparently it can really mess with your fertility or be worthless if you aren't monitored properly. It also seems a little earlier than the normal recommendation to take such measures.

@theborg7of9 knows a lot more about it than I do.

Does the Creighton Method include temping? Personally, my CM tells me little (I get EWCM at random times) so I would question any method without taking BBT.

(Not trying to be rude, just concerned)

ETA: Sorry, I just saw you were off BC for over a year, I thought it was just January since that's when you said you started trying. My mistake.

  • December of this year for us too, this will be our second. I'm so excited but I would like DS to be a little older before I get pregnant and I'm hoping to get a promotion in the next month or so. If so I would like to work my new position for around a year before going on leave.
  • Another December! We are all in this together. Welcome back!!
  • Thanks @HookEmNelson! Happy to be here. These months will fly by... Right?
  • Just wanted to say thank you for the support Xstatic3333!  I just met my new baby nephew last week and the baby rabies have bitten me hard!  Hopefully this is just a hiccup in the home purchase.

  • Hiccups during purchasing a home are the worst! It took me a few days to stop checking my email every 5 minutes after closing, because I was always expecting just something else to come up; whether that be a paper to sign, something to scan and send in, or an issue with our appraisal. Hang in there!

  • I'm new to the board but like everyone else lurked a while before posting!! We are NTNP....we both want a second really bad but at the same time there a few things we would like to get done before!!  I figured this way if it happens it happens if it doesn't it doesn't so there's no frustration if we don't and only excitement if we do!!

I would LOVE to get pregnant around marchish of next year so it'll be a colder baby ;) DH doesn't care...he just wants another baby!! He has had bad baby fever since Feb when he got a promotion at his job! I had my IUD taken out after having it for 2 years (early May) but of course my body hates me and I've yet to have a "normal" period :(

I want to chart and temp just to get a look see at what's going on but I must be dumb because I attempted the FF chart and for the life of me had no clue how to answer half the questions it needed!! Is it easier to start the chart when I have a regular period and not this wishy washy spotty mess?!?!  Hope I didn't just completely ramble and annoy anyone!!

  • @shelbibrooke82 I'm wondering the same thing. My chart is all kinds of effed up. I just got my IUD removed on July 1 and have been temping, but have been bleeding and spotting on and off so much that FF is super confused (and so am I). Let me know if you find an answer to your question about FF and whishy washy spotty messes (love that you called it that, it's a perfect phrase for it).
  • @shelbibrooke82 Hi and welcome! Come in and jump in anywhere!

I wish I could give you ladies advice from coming off BC. I'm still working my way around learning FF myself.
  • Hello, we don't have a plan in place. We have 2 boys and I'd really like one more (I think) but hubby needs some convincing 1st. The thing is I'm running out of time. I'm 37, he's 39 and I'd like to wait a bit longer (ds2 is 18 mo.) but for our health, I don't want to wait too much longer. I quit my job in January and the plan was, I would study and change careers in 6 months (which changed to a year which now changed to who knows when) to earn more money and DH would be ok with a 3rd. Well life happened and DS2 was sick the entire time and even went to the hospital with pnemionia for a week. I just became a SAHM at that point (a month ago). So maybe if I can keep them healthy, then ease them back into daycare, then I can study and get DH on board. I just hope our fertility is in good enough shape at that point.

  • @LavenderBrown1018 That was the first thing that came to mind when thinking of what to call AF!! I'm hoping to mess with the FF chart today and see if I can't figure it out or find another easier chart!! I wonder if there is a FF chart discussion anywhere on here?!?!

I feel like it will be easier when AF decided to pull her head out of her .... and get normal!! Then we will be able to track how long our cycle's are and better document ya know?!?! meh people kill me when they say TTC is easy! we aren't even really "trying" and I'm still going bonkers lol

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

  • @shelbibrooke82 Lots of women post their chart for help and then there are discussion boards on FF's website (as well as awesome lessons if you haven't seen those yet). But I think people will just tell us what we already think they'll say- wait for it to balance out and then discard the wonky days.

FF has a lot of possible information sources to input, but the only one you have to is BBT. Once your more comfortable with that, you could start trying to add the other things. The FF tutorials are super helpful, and I'd highly recommend doing them if you haven't already.
