My DH and I have yet to figure that out. DH wants to be out of college for the pregnancy( don't know why he thinks it will be so eventful). But I stopped taking BCPs this week. and he knows I'm temping. and we are using NFP( or trying). Every time I tell him it may be risky to have have sex, he gets turned on and tries to initiate things. Long story short, I'm thinking September. That way if we get pregnant right away baby will be due after he graduates. and during my off season at work. But I know realistically you can't plan when you get a BFP. So, I'm still toying with the idea of trying now. Who knows. Husband and I have a bad case of the indecision.
I would like to try for #3 now or in the next few months. My kids are 16 mo apart and this one would be about 2.5 years apart. I don't want the gap to be any bigger so... but my hubby isn't quite sure he wants a third. So it a waiting game till we can make a family decision. It's killing me though because I feel the clock ticking.
We're pretty much up in the air at this point! I stopped BC pills in May and right now we're just relying on the withdrawal method so I guess you could say we're NTNP. Husband has this idea that all of our debt needs to be paid before we can really start TTC but that's unrealistic in my mind and pretty far in the future from now. I'm 27 and he's 30, we've been married 2 years. Also killing me that it feels like EVERYONE is expecting or just gave birth.
Our goal/stipulation with my husband was to definitely own a home in our desired area before we started trying. Took a little while to compete in this market and now the next step is to prepare the bod for Decemeber. I'll be interested to see how long it takes this time time around. A five year age gap is ok right? Hah! Hoping for sibling closeness.
We'll start in December or January. I just want a few more months of relative "freedom" and a little more time to save. I'm the more hesitant one in our marriage, though I am starting to get more excited. I'm going off BCPs after this pack though, which I'm so pumped about! I've had some really irritating side effects ever since changing brands a few years ago. Changing back didn't help the side effects, but coming off does. We'll use barrier methods and I'll start temping, and if that goes well we'll use temping to avoid for a bit.
Hi! Ok, I'm taking the leap. This is my first post. I've been lurking for a couple weeks now...
DH and I have been together for 4 years (tomorrrow! aw!) and we just got married 4 months ago. I told him I wanted to be married for a year before we started TTC even though everyone told me I wouldn't be able to wait that long. Now I'm thinking they may have been on to something... though I swear I'll make it! (We'll see...)
We've just recently put a tentative date on TTC and I think that's what is kicking starting my clock. It made it so real! We are both so excited to start our family but have been focusing on getting everything as ready as possible.
We plan to start TTC in April or May of next year. DH will be 32, I will be 29.

November/December for us! MH and I are both 26. We've been together 7 years and married almost 2. We move to another state in June so I'd like to be settled in before a baby comes. Plus we have a trip to Aruba in November I'm treating like a babymoon, but I got my IUD out yesterday and baby fever is intense!
We'll move another 2 years after that so home ownership is not in our foreseeable future, that's the only thing I wish I could change but MH's job will move us around a bit for a while.
@jenfarm3 hi! Glad you hopped in on this group! Since I only have select places to really chat right now, I'm hoping to give this board some life. Congratulations on the set TTC months!
@LavenderBrown1018 moving around can be challenging. We moved when I was 8 months pregnant in 2011 and back in 2013..now 2015. Completely know what you will go through. Y'all will do great!
If anyone is checking in and has been hesitant to post, come on friends!
We are waiting until January/February 2017. It's only 1 1/2 years away, but it feels like forever. We are working on paying off our student loans and me settling into my new job. Also, my parents will be moving to our area in 2 years, so that makes it more ideal for us to wait.
We are planning to TTC starting in January. My husband is getting his PHD and will be done in May 2016 so I don't want a baby getting in the way of him finishing up school. So much is unknown after that like where we will end up but I guess there is no perfect time to have a baby. The wait is killing me though
I have a post about being torn when to start TTC. Ultimately, DH and I decided to wait until next summer just to save up some more. The wait is killing me though. Seems like everywhere I look someone is pregnant or announcing a new baby. Thank god for secret Pinterest boards.
Anyone else care to join in on this?
Are y'all part of any other boards? I've been peeking in on the Feb 2016 BMB. They are having their first sonograms. Ouch! My uterus!
I personally like the atmosphere of The Nest, so I'm fairly active on Money Matters and Getting Pregnant there. There's way less drama than on The Bump.
I'm also on Money Matters on TN. It's definitely the most polite board on the web, a great group of people, and a great inspiration for getting my finances in order. I'll probably intro on TTGP/GP once we're closer to getting started.
That's awesome! I really never ventured on TN much. I went from TK straight to TB, because a baby happened unexpectedly fast after our wedding back in 2010. @Xstatic3333 when are thinking of starting?

We're going to start in December or January. We're planning a March trip that I want to make sure I wouldn't be in my third tri for, and in general we want a few more months to enjoy just the two of us and build our savings reserve.
It's funny, January 2016 was an arbitrary date we set after getting married. I've never been totally baby crazy, but do know I want to be a mom, so having the date in mind has really helped me to start getting excited. We wouldn't be stuck on that date if our situation changed, but it is starting to really feel right.
The awareness of just the right time is such a great feeling. It sounds like there are quite a few of us starting around the same time frame. Can't wait to see what 2016 has to bring for us, ladies!
We are planning t start TTC in September. DH is fine with starting now. I want to wait a bit, just started a new job about 3 weeks ago. I've been mostly lurking and occasionally posting in TTGP. This is my first post here though.

September for us! We're getting married at the end of August and will stop preventing pregnancy after that. We each have kids from previous relationships but are very much looking forward to having one together. I've started my prenatals, eating better, etc. it's exciting to be getting my body ready!
First post here but have been lurking for about a month. After 11 years together, 6 of them married, we are targeting TTC for my December cycle. I did away with the pill in May and just started my second cycle off the pill today. I read TCOYF and temped and charted last cycle for the first time. After 10 years on the pill I feel very empowered and confident about the knowledge I'm gaining over my body and what it's doing. Between now and December we're just going to rely on FAM for BC, but if we happen to conceive during that time we agreed that we are both more than ok with that.
I just had my annual check up with my doctor and she put me on prenatals so those will start tomorrow. I cut out my nightly glass of wine during the week and am trying to increase my exercise. Our only other health concern is some genetic testing I will need to undergo as I have a niece who was born with a genetic mutation (18p deletion). My consult with the genetics counselor is at the end of this month. Other goals are to save more money, land a promotion at work, purge some of the clutter in the house, get our 3 dogs ready for a baby and go on as many date nights as we possibly can.
I agree with others that Money Matters is a great board especially if you have financial goals tied to when you want to TTC. Or just enjoy discussing life and finances.
Other than BOTB board, I stay away from other boards regarding TTC, pregnancy or babies. They make me angsty and don't help with the waiting.
I pop in on those boards and it semi reminds me of the early stages of a BMB. They are fun to read at times (trolls and oblivious posters), but there is a need to have some thick skin.
We are planning in the beginning of September. I am a teacher and don't get paid maternity leave. Therefore, I am planning (hoping) for an early June baby.

Oh my gosh- I totally agree!!! I just started charting 3 days ago but empowered is the perfect way to put it!
@HookEmNelson Charting is amazing and surprisingly simple to do. However, if you are like my husband and I the sign of seeing fertile cm... makes us wanna do it... even though we are NFP at the moment... TTA FAM charting.. we had our first Oops last night. I was like "what did we just do that?" But I think we're fine we just cant do that again lol. it was CD 12 and I'm pretty sure Ovulation will be kicked back because of coming off of the pill... but damn now I'm gonna convince myself and take tons of tests.... I need some more willpower ladies. I'm just waiting for "O", so that we only have one more cycle til we TRY. Charting made it hard to ignore.
We are waiting until May 2016. Gotta get my health in order, fix up some stuff around the house, and get the finances straight. The plan is to stop BCP in Feb 2016 and start charting. Currently reading TCOYF and am feeling quite excited! We're definitely starting to feel ready!
August for us! I have been very nervous trying to frantically check off all my list items before TTC, but some how my list keeps growing Ha! We have been married for 1.5 years (together for 12) and in our house now for 3 years. I would like to get the remainder of our debt paid off but my sweet husband is losing his patience with waiting. I have to remind myself there is no "perfect" timing right?

Aw, that's cute! LOL. My DH is losing patience also. And you're right, the timing will never be perfect but it will end up being perfect. Good luck soon!
