We are on team green and went with grey and aqua for the nursery! The room was already painted with darker and lighter grey stripes so we just pained over the lighter grey with an aqua kind of color. The closet we painted the aqua color as it was left an off white color from previous owners and didn't match the grey, I'm going to paint on a few elephants, hopefully if I'm feeling up to it. My parents always buy the first stuffed animal for the baby (they did this with dd) so they got this baby the elephant! I need to make curtains and recover the rocking chair that I got at a garage sale!
My fiance and I are team green and decided to go with a Star Wars theme.. I know, I know.. nerd alert! But after looking at some pinterest ideas, I got pretty excited and my fiance is ecstatic lol I think I'm gonna paint the logo on one wall and buy some smaller canvases to draw and paint baby versions of the characters to hang on the other walls.. I also found these awesome lightsabre wall lights that allow you to change the colors.. so I'm going to leave them green for now and once our little bean is here, I'll change them to blue or pink thinking of going all out and creating a ceiling that looks like it's lit with stars, but we'll see how I feel about doing all that in a couple months haha
I saw the other day someone who had done the star wars theme. They took the 2 lightsaber wall lights and put them above the crib. In between they had painted "I am a Jedi, like my father before me". I thought it was a perfect quote to use!
I'm doing a woodlands theme for baby boy. Trying to keep it neutral since we know we want more. We painted the room a greenish almost Tiffany blue, mostly because it's my favorite lol. We put in dark bamboo floors, and accents, along with woodland things, will be black and white. I already put up sheer white curtains overlapped with black blackout curtains, and I plan on putting up some white birch tree decals. At this point, it's kind of a mix of a lot of things because a lot of people want to contribute, but it's working.

Just wanted to share the chair my mum is making for the nursery. It's not finished yet but so far it looks amazing. Cot and wardrobe are arriving next Saturday. I'm so excited.
Our baby boy will have to share a room with big sissy because we have a two bedroom house ( tho he will be in our room 6-8 months first). She has a frozen room, we lofted her bed and put a crib underneath, but I cannot find any boy crib bedding and I worry that it won't feel like a shared boy/girl room, it's very girly but I guess by the time he is old enough to care hopefully we will be moving to a bigger house
With our first we knew we would be moving within the first year so we didn't do anything to her nursery (easier to sell).
Now that we're in our new house I have two nurseries to decorate!! We'll be moving my daughter into her "big girl room" when her sister arrives but she's only 15 months so she's still a baby. I've got Tiffany blue and coral picked out for her walls. Her dresser is white and her crib is darker. Not sure what I'm going to do about a theme yet but she's super into books so far so I might have some nice book shelves made for her favourites and have a Winnie the poo or dr. Seuss quote on the wall above her crib.
I can't do much actual decorating until we move, but since we're down to 2 houses to pick from, I'm pinterest planning a little bit. I think we're going for a purple/grey/white stars and moons theme. I picked out a white crib and dresser and registered for this bed set. I want to make the white furniture pop with a dark greyish-purplish wall paint. Either the whole room in house 1, or just an accent wall in house 2 (the room is much smaller and I think it'd feel super tiny with all dark walls) with white moon/star wall decals and a cushy white area rug. I'm not too worried about keeping it neutral for potential future kids, because both the houses have 3 bedrooms so our guest room would become baby #2's room.
Question - is it terrible to do one theme for first year, and another theme for second year+? I want jungle babies while hes little and them monsters inc....

That was my situation too, I wanted baby foxes, and then Toy Story. We decided that it would be easier to give him a nursery that he could grow in, so we decided to just go with Toy Story.
We don't know what we are having yet, but we are for sure doing a baby fox theme. Our last name is Fox, so I have always wanted to use that theme. I am not sure what colors we are going to use to accent with though. whatever we decide will have to go with orange, bc of the color of the fox. I really like the darker colored wood too. I think I am going to have to find most of our decor on Etsy. Not a lot of stores carry baby fox stuff.
My maiden name was Fox, and I am loving all the baby items that have foxes on it right now!
Here is kinda the theme of baby girls nursery. Going real vintage and all grey and white with subtle hints of light pink. Just searching for the perfect glider and white shag rug.. (The old high chair has yet to be finished btw)
I'm having a little girl, I'm really short on space presently and I can't move till my lease is up in july. so for the moment my peanut will be sharing the same room as I am, I have a walk in closet though that I think I will attempt to convert into a nook for her. But I really Like bubblegum pink, innocent white, and granite grey. but i've been pinning articles and ideas on pinterest like it's my job.
