I am curious what everyone's baby heart beat has been. I had my first US on Tuesday and baby was 181 which seems quite high. The doctor said it was normal....is it?!
If your doctor said it was normal, trust your doctor. They can have quite a range at this point. With my first pregnancy DD's heart rate measured anywhere from 145-200
When will I get to hear baby’s heartbeat? What does the heart rate mean?
Your OB will probably listen for the heartbeat with a Doppler ultrasound device around week 12. (Some of our mom friends have had doctors try a little earlier, but usually not before week 10.) Anything between 110 and 160 beats per minute is considered "normal." And though we’ve heard many a grandma claim that the heart rate can reveal baby's sex, scientists say no way. In fact, the heart rate changes a lot — even baby wiggling around can speed it up. (But if you want to play along for fun, the old wives' tale is that girls have faster heartbeats.)
189 bpm at 8 weeks 4 days. I was worried at first too but the doctor just said it was a strong heartbeat. We lost our baby at 18 weeks my last pregnancy, last October, so we've just been super nervous with this pregnancy. His heartbeat was in the 160s though.
Sorry this is off topic but didn't want to start brand new thread. We had appt at 10w3d yesterday hb was 160 on Doppler and then she used this ancient u/s machine (her words not mine
Ugh app is being weird sorry. Long story short we didn't get to see the baby move on u/s but saw hb flicker. Just kind of made me nervous to not see movement at this point....any experiences with this?
At my last appointment baby was at 9w1d and hb was 189. My hubby and the doctor saw the baby move, but somehow I missed it. Doctor said everything was looking great, which was a huge relief because back in January I had a miscarriage after no hb found at 9w - but baby was also much smaller than what should've been.
I was worried about the same thing... At 7wks it was 170, 8wks it was 180, I asked the tech several times was that very high, but she insisted it was a great, strong HB.

Normal, if you're using an outdated machine. It's great that you saw the hb flicker though. And thank you for asking your question on a related thread. I think it's fine.
188 at 9 weeks 6 days. I did have a little caffeine right before the visit. My daughter's was 133 when we had her first ultrasound around 19 weeks. They can definitely vary.
