  • I love eggs! I eat them everyday for breakfast! :)
  • Loading the player...
  • Me too! Two eggs every am. Sometimes hard boiled and sometimes scrambled!
  • I like everything on that list except for salmon. PS where are the blueberries?

All my favourites! Good reminder about oatmeal, usually I can't stomach it at all but last week in the grocery store I was totally coveting it in someone else's order. Maybe tomorrow! Edit: spelling
  • Excellent list! Hopefully I can make myself eat some of these. I am still super nauseous
  • I have been trying the smoothies with unsweetened coconut milk, blueberries, pitted cherries, pineapple and believe it or not, baby spinach.  Can't tast the spinach at all and it is very nutricious.  Actually able to hold it down...lol, but seriously, it is really good.  I make it with bananas and strawberries too.  Of course, I do love eggs!

That sounds delicious! Good for you sneaking spinach in :)

Sweet potatoes! We grilled some last night and used Sriracha for sauce.  Been doing kale smoothies with blueberries, strawberries, and almond milk too. So much folic acid and if you get the almond milk fortified with calcium, even better :)
  • Love oatmeal! I also love making my own smoothies! My fav is banana, spinach, PB, avocado, and unsweetened almond milk.

@cassey910 What a fabulous idea to add PB to your green smoothie. Love the tip...I usually like mine with spinach, kale, cucumber, unsweetened almond milk, lemon, and sometimes a banana or apple. I'm gonna have to switch it up with the PB now and then! Yumm.

Also, love me some oatmeal. I never liked it before but LOVE it during pregnancy.

  • This all sounds fantastic. I'm hungry just reading about that smoothie! I need to dig out my blender!

My favorite smoothie has been coconut water, kale, avocado, apple, chia seeds, and apple cider vinegar. I also like chopping and freezing the kale and apple instead of using ice.The vinager keeps it green lemon or lime juice would probably work.
  • I love spinach! Thats my go to this week! Spinach salad with tomatoes and strawberries and balsamic! :)

@rsharmeen I am in the same boat! I actually met with a dietician today though, because my food aversions at so severe. They gave me a lot of helpful ideas, you should see if your health care has anything similar to that. If not I'd before than happy to send you my notes. I can't eat any meat period and was advised against it anyways though. Lots of other options an helpful tricks! Check It out if you can!
  • I am loving Chobani Greek Yogurt individual tubes. I put them in the freezer and eat them like a Popsicle :) The strawberry flavor is my favorite!

What a good idea!!!! Does it help a sweet tooth?

I would love some ideas. I seem to like very limited foods right now, certainly not the healthy foods I'm used to. I pretty much just eat fruit, pancakes, refried beans and cheese. I can't stomach much else. Hoping these aversions go away soon because I used to love food!
  • Oh reading all of this, I can't wait until I can eat again! I can barely eat anything.. Just a ton of food aversions right now at 9 weeks

For a sweet tooth I've been making a smoothie out of one frozen banana, two tablespoons of all natural peanut butter (ingredients only peanuts), and unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Dairy free, calcium rich, and very stomach soothing!
  • Wow it's really inspiring to read all these comments. This is my first baby and I wad never a very healthy eater. I want to be healthy but the only things that appeal to me are meat, cheese, and carbs:( how do i get motivated to eat more healthy

I've been having such a hard time eating a lot of foods the past few weeks, so I stick to a lot of cheese, fruit, beans, eggs and ginger. But I've been juicing some kale, carrots, apples, and oranges.

I was vegan up until a few weeks ago when suddenly I couldn't stomach any soy or other vegan proteins. Vegetables also make my stomach churn. Just trying to listen to my body and eat when I think it needs. Been feeling a lot better this way!

  • @jebays that sounds AMAZING. Now I just have to remember to freeze some bananas :)
  • Those smoothies all sound so healthy but the idea makes me nauseous. Eggs are definitely not something I can stomach right now. I've always been a semi healthy eater but it seems lately all I can stomach and crave are carbs and fruit. Really wanting to eat better but not sure how without feeling sick.

@teammjc I freeze the bananas that get just a bit too soft for eating otherwise. They're sweeter that way too. :)
  • I miss food so much! I'm at 9 weeks now and the food aversion bit about 3 weeks ago. All I can seemingly stomach are carbs. Bread, pasta, cereal, more pasta etc. Everything I used to love I can't stand the smell or sight. Just wondering how long this is going to last because I want to eat healthy foods again. I just want to eat...
  • I am so hungry and have been trying so hard to eat something. My nausea is constant and anything I eat makes me sick. My diet consists of mints and water lately.
  • I do too!!!always helps me wake up!
  • Hi there! Just curious to see if anyone else has looked into using protein powders? Smoothies and shakes seem to be the easiest, quickest thing for me to make in the morning before work. At this point I just put strawberries, bananas, chi seeds, and milk into mine. But I feel like I could be adding more nutrients if I added a powder or some sort of nutrition supplement to it. Any thoughts or research out there on this? Thanks : )

My doctor said whey protein powder is perfectly safe. I plan to buy some next time I go to the grocery store.
  • i am 10 weeks pregnant and all been wanting to eat for the pass 3 is ice fruits. like eating eggs drinking milk but other sold foods do not appeal me yet. And cant peanut butter jelly sandwiches, cook in oil, nothing with sugar or salt no oinions green peppers (i get really nauseas when see these things)
  • My favorites are watermelon, cherries, mango, papaya, grapes, boiled eggs, & salads lol
  • So I've been on this fresh fruit (mostly pineapple) kicks. I was doing some research and saw that eating fresh pineapple *could* lead to a M/C. SERIOUSLY? It is like the only thing I can stomach that doesn't make me regret eating it. Strawberries, watermelon and cantalope are all fine in small quantities, but I seriously can down 3 whole pineapples in a day...if I could. This week I've had 4 or 5 whole pineapples....I have an OB appointment on monday and I am going to ask her if they're not safe for baby.....However, in the meantime I am going to *try* to avoid eating so many until then.

    Mommies-
**be very careful on which protein powders you purchase- some contain heavy metals as well as MSG and it doesn't have to be on the label since protein powders are not approved through the FDA. I stick with a Greek yogurt base and add fruit, almond milk & a little stevia. :)

  • In regard to protein powders, I use vegan shakeology and LOVE it. So many super foods packed into one shake! My doctor approved for use. I am a consultant as well if anyone is interested. :)
