I give FB people three strikes. I literally have a post it IRL for people on Facebook. AW posts about how many loads of laundry you have done? Strike 1. Anything too socially conservative warrants 2 strikes. Anyone who shares a photo of their uterus is automatically hid from my feed. Needless to say my Facebook feed is all celebrities, I fucking love science articles, and news. Perfect
IFLS! love that page, lol. I like those kinds of pages especially for the ABSURD comments people post..

September Siggy Challenge - Favorite Thing About Fall:
My BFF is starting to potty train her 2 1/2 year old son. She didn't do it sooner because she was pregnant with #2 when #1 turned a year and is just now getting around to it. She texted me last night that #1 went pee on the potty for the first time. I asked if he was getting a reward and she said "No I don't want him to associate food with going to the bathroom and it sets a bad precedent" In my head I couldn't help judge her for not training him sooner and then for her possibly judging me about when I potty train my kid I will def bribe them, heck, I bribe my husky to come in the house with Cheerios.

I bribed my 2.5 year old with m&ms to pee on the potty. It worked great, no shame! He doesn't even ask for them anymore, so I say go for it when the time comes!

Not training him sooner? What? Do you have kids? 2.5 is a perfectly respectable age to be potty training, especially boys. DS will be 2 in Oct. and as of now he is nowhere near ready to PT. I doubt I'm going to be doing it before his sibling comes unless he is really, really ready (I think pushing kids to do it too early does more harm than good, and just makes everything more difficult for you), which means he'll be older than 2.5 when we do it.

I hate all of the judgement around potty training. My son is 2.5 as well and has no interest at all. He would pee in his pants all day without a care if he wasn't in a diaper. Personally I don't feel 2.5 is late. On his bmb most other moms are just starting to potty train and only a couple are fully trained. if you can't send your kid to kindergarten because they aren't trained then that's a problem.

My kid just turned 2 and is no where near potty training. Ugh I'm so done with him being in diapers. My daughter was PTed a couple of months before 2. I know it isn't late but it's just frusturating. I'm hoping to have him PTed by Fall but with how I've been feeling... not happening this month.
I bribed my daughter like no tomorrow. We had a special surprise bag. She got a candy when she tried to go, another candy when she went pee and if she went poop she got to pick a little toy out of the bag. We had a big toy on top of our towel rack and when she filled up her chart with stars she got the toy.

This^^^^. My 4 yo was PT at 19 months because he showed interest. My 2 1/2 yo is just now showing interest in trying the potty. It is more like a fun game to him right now so we let him go when he wants to but if we ask him to go he says no. We give treats if he goes but that is just not much of an incentive for him. I won't force him and I am assuming he will be closer to 3 before he is actually out of diapers. That is developmentally appropriate.
I side eye a lot of the gofundme accounts. I just saw one on Facebook for a girl who was trying to raise $1000 to drive back home for California because she moved out there and didn't like it. Totally judged her.
Same! A friend of a friend made one to send her to a yoga retreat in Costa Rica. Under the guise that she's a really good person who works hard and needs a break. Um, aren't we all?
My own cousin made a gofundme with a sap story asking for money because her and her new husband battle infertility, they can't afford it & they want a baby.
Background...you don't battle true "infertility" when you can't get pregnant because your husband (whose nearly 20yrs older than you) chose to get snipped because he already had 4 kids with his last wife. None of which he currently has custody of.
And maybe that can be my FFFC for those who think I'm heartless for thinking she's a moron. Fwiw, nobody (including our entire family) donated a dime...and she made a long drawn out vent on Facebook that she was so disappointed because nobody would help them.
Totally agreed! GoFundMe is getting out of control. It makes me feel bad for people with real life threatening issues who need the money. Because (personally) I see so many now I kind of just ignore them.

Um, 2 1/2 is a pretty standard age to potty train. For some kids, it's even too early.

That's disgusting. She sounds like a horrible person. Even if she really, truly believes it - take a step back and think! Terrible.
OMG I have the best GoFundMe story ever. I have a former coworker friend on FB who moved down to CA from WA with her boyfriend. Around the time of the SuperBowl, she posted this status about how she was scheduled to come back up to our hometown for a vacation already, but now that the Seahawks were in the SuperBowl, she wanted to change her flight to come a few days earlier than she had planned in order to watch the game with friends. She posted, "So if anyone wants to contribute to the "Bring [name] home early for the Superbowl" fund, I'd really appreciate it! I only need a couple hundred bucks!" And people sent her money! Which was tacky enough, but then while she was in town (I think she was here for a week and a half?), she got a HUGE, colorful tattoo on her bicep and was AWing it all over FB. Umm, if you have the hundreds of dollars saved that that tattoo must've cost, then you shouldn't be asking for help changing your plane ticket. I side-eyed her big time. :-?

My 2.75 year old has no interest. I tried to put him in underwear and power through it a few weeks ago...I had to fight him twice in the first day to let me take poopy underwear off. Seriously dude? You're not ready. And cleaning a poop diaper = waaaaayyyy less gross than poop underwear. Gag.

Yeah, I wasn't being sarcastic, I really did think I would for sure have my kids potty trained by 2. Anything older than that just seemed really gross.
I'm supposed to go to a reunion for an organization I was part of as a kid. It's all weekend. I'm dreading it and trying to think of excuses to skip it, even though I'd feel guilty not seeing old friends.
Also, I just had my first appointment with the MW, and I like her, but the experience left me really frustrated. She didn't listen for a heartbeat, but I didn't press it because she said she'd have me come back in a "week or two" for my first U/S. Get to the u/s scheduler lady, she says I can't come until July 27 at the earliest, but they can't fit me in until August 4. WTF? No heartbeat or US until almost 13 weeks?!?! I feel like crying.
I'm 9 weeks 3 days and today my midwife asked me if I'd like to try to find it but probably wouldn't be able to. We couldn't find it so and luckily I'm not stressed about it. I got back 8/5 and then I can hear it. I won't have an ultrasound sounds until Sept.
Adding to the FB rants.. I cannot stand when you write a status and people just respond by talking about themselves. Like, they don't even try to have a conversation, they just talk about their own opinion and then you're like 'well that's nice. Make your own status about it and stop trying to just talk about yourself.' It reminds me of the saying.. People don't listen to understand, they listen to respond.

The girl I nanny has a closet FULL of Matilda Jane clothes. At first I side-eyed the HECK out of it, but it is actually super cute and fun. She is 4, so she likes to pick out her own clothes. Since they are all miss-matchy and colorful, no matter what she picks out is a happy disaster. She looks like a super trendy 4yo, and she got to pick out her outfit. Win for everyone!

I actually tried PT around 20 months with my son. I would have him sit on the potty every couple hours, he would go, very few accidents, rarely woke up wet. We did this for about a week and he never ever told me he needed to go, so we quit. I figured he wasn't ready. Now, even when he sits and tries to go, he NEVER does. That is my son, peed great for a week on his own no asking at 18 months (he was non verbal) , then randomly started having accident and now at 22 he sometimes asked to go but it's not consistently.

What bothers me also about this, everyone is having the online parties. So not only do I spend my money so they can get free stuff, but then they don't even have to buy snacks & drinks and entertain people!!

We got extremely lucky in the potty training dept. they were both trained in one day by 23 months. Unfortunately, we can't seem to figure out the toddler beds and binky situation yes....my 2 year olds still have binkies. Wanna know why? Because I want to keep my damn sanity...lol

Ah this happened to me with one of dd's check ups! I posted her weight and height and her shots and people starting talking to each other about how horrible a certain shot is blah blah I was so annoyed! I messaged them and asked them to stop

My kid just turned 2 and is no where near potty training.

My SIL went through a miscarriage last summer and her friend actually tried to hock Shakeology to her as a way to "recover". Seriously?!
That's disgusting. She sounds like a horrible person. Even if she really, truly believes it - take a step back and think! Terrible.

Gag.

Poop underwear will go straight in the garbage for me. You're better than I am if you attempted to clean it lol.

Yeah, I wasn't being sarcastic, I really did think I would for sure have my kids potty trained by 2. Anything older than that just seemed really gross.
Right?? My son is 3 years and 3 months old and still wears diapers to bed because he mostly only poops in the diaper. We just put him down for a nap with no diaper and I'm nervous to check on him. LOL

Ya my twins are almost 20 months and I haven't even thought about potty training yet. Especially because they are both boys, I know they won't be ready for a while. I don't think 2.5 is too old either.

Seriously, one time in the almost year since then:( sometimes I wonder what would have happened had I stuck with it...

That is my son, peed great for a week on his own no asking at 18 months (he was non verbal) , then randomly started having accident and now at 22 he sometimes asked to go but it's not consistently.

We got extremely lucky in the potty training dept. they were both trained in one day by 23 months. Unfortunately, we can't seem to figure out the toddler beds and binky situation
