Baby girl is 2 weeks today, can't believe it. Big brother is adjusting well. I'm super excited about my pumped milk stash. I wish I had secret/tips for other mammas that need to increase their supply but I don't really have any other than drinking lots of water, no dairy products, and lots of protein. Here's a picture of my supply plus 12 more bags in the door.
@mellymar and @klkonwi you ladies rock for your alone time this week with your boys! Will be thinking of you and hoping things go smoothly!
@kes166 was wondering about you!!! So glad you're back, LO is well, and the end is in sight for school. Hard core, new mama Masters lady!! Good luck with the home stretch
@CBHoneyB nice work, mama! So glad pumping is going well for you.
Makes me feel good to see my girls on here doing well. Happy Hump Day, ladies! Xo
Yup, totally scared to have sex again, I had a 2.5 degree tear (worse than second but not totally third degree). I'm almost 4 weeks PP, so have some time but hubby is so excited so I feel bad about making him wait any longer than right after I get the ok from the dr.
Also I feel you on the being alone, hubby is a sheriff's officer and is picking up overtime to make some more money for us to cover my fmla once std ends, so it's awesome but though doing it alone all day and night. Also feel bad for him missing out on time with lo
You ladies talking about sex might like the podcast The Longest Shortest Time, where she talks about post partum sex, with Dan Savage. I found it very insightful and reassuring. I discussed it with DH during pregnancy, so he is prepared for it to take a while and is very understanding. But I miss our sex life, even though I'm not ready for it.
When did y'all's stitches come out? I'm at 4.5 weeks and still have some. Hate it!!
Also went in nervous, two stiches popped after 5 Days. A bunch more partially dissolved and came out at around the 1.5 week mark I'm kind of scared I didn't feel so great

You go girl!! Are you EP or BF and pumping?
BF and pumping. Right now she's really only BF, DH has done the bottle twice just so I could sleep a little.
I am just passed four weeks Pp. As much as I would love sex I am pretty scared. My husband is having a hernia surgery at the endof July and so we will have to wait until he is better. I am a bit relieved
I thought there was a nursing bra thread somewhere but I can't find it. I am OVER THE MOON that I finally found a nursing bra that is amazing. I've tried every freaking brand and they were all awful. Hundreds of dollars later I finally found one (not on my own accord, someone I knew had breast surgery and used this bra). It's Hanes comfortflex convertible bra and was $12.99. A STEAL! They aren't labeled as nursing bras so it's weird...but they're online at Target and so comfy and the straps come down. Seriously I am way more excited than a normal person should be.

Super jelly of that stash!
Good luck to ladies rocking it solo! My hubby is going out of town next week for 5 days but my mom is going to be here I'm hoping she is more helpful than dh.
I need to get more in my stash I finally feel like I can start freezing some. Lo had a huge diaper blow out today and got an extra bath! Lol. I have a whole house to clean for guests coming in tonight and I really need to hop to it. Hubby is very much looking forward to sexy time. I asked him to unsnap my bra yesterday and he said I was torturing him. Still a boob man through and through. Good luck this week ladies! We got this.
The newborn and toddler officially have more sleep than any adult in the house. I think the toddler is staging a revolt. I can feel it...he senses my weakness. Maybe I'm just delirious from sleep deprivation.
@lovethatcolosun think our toddlers are conspiring in this revolt? Last night he decided to wake when the baby wakes up. He usually sleeps through most of the night. He's also been real finicky about what he eats too.
To those of you who are going solo with their babes while your SO are away, you'll be fine. If I could manage to keep a toddler and newborn alive on my own, you ladies can certainly do it! Honestly, I've gotten so used to it that sometimes it feels like the hubby just gets in the way when he's around on his days off.
My sweet little girl was early so she is 8 weeks today. Normally read but do not post. Well I just wanted to reassure some of you.
I had 2nd degree tear and my husband and I had sex at 6 weeks, twice so far. It was amazing. Felt a little tight at first, we used a condom both times and lube. It was so nice to be with him this way after 2 months. Help this helps!
With DS, I had a 3rd degree tear and I wasn't mentally ready until 8+ weeks. If you're nervous, talk to SO and make sure there is lots of foreplay and lube. It was a little tender at first but was OK. Definitely not the best sex ever, but things were back to normal quick. This time, I'm ready to be cleared but there's a big difference between a 1st and 3rd degree tear.
First check in since LO'S arrival. Things are going fabulous. We had her 1wk appointment yesterday and were very happy to hear that she is up above her birth weight (EBF) and she is doing great. Yay!
For those of you who's DHs are leaving, you WILL do awesome. DH had to leave out of town again the day after she was born. We are not sure when he will be back. I survive by focusing in on LO and her needs and by getting in lots of phone calls with him on speaker so he can talk to her. It helps me feel like he is not missing things. Some days are easier than others. Also, I stay away from romantic movies or anything of the sort to keep me from being sad.
@CBHoneyB that's a solid stash! DD is 2 weeks too and I have nothing frozen. Btw, love the idea of organizing in a soda box
I also love that idea! I'm going to steal it. Mine are all over the place... time to organize.
Sending love to all us ladies doing our 'thang'. Hope to be regularly lurking again soon... in between mommy duties. back to it..... she's ready to eat AGAIN. :x
@mvargas12 My DD's cord was bleeding for quite a few days (not gushing but you could see small spots of dried blood on the underside of her onsie when changing her) and her cord fell off today! I've had several ppl say that it's normal for it to bleed a bit before falling off. I'm a first time mommy, so I can't say I've dealt with it before now. We just kept it dabbed with alcohol like they recommend.
To those who are dealing with their DH being gone for days at a time, you're my heroes! It's not easy being on your own. Safe travels to them!
Haven't been cleared for sex yet this time around, but after DS1, it was definitely uncomfortable. I don't think it had so much to do with the birth (only a first degree tear) as is did with really needing to lube up! Apparently, with the change in hormones, your Virginia dries up - especially if you are EBFing. Another perk I guess..

Ooo, yay! I'm excited for you! I've been hanging out in a super old sports bra, and DH is giving me the side eye. Someone gave us a gift certificate to a baby store and DH told me use it to buy bras, lol. So I tried several on yesterday and bought two of the same kind (some German brand). Here's hoping they work... They are shaped cups, and someone posted that is not a good thing for nursing bras. Crap.
Should we start a nursing bras thread? I'm about to start the hundreds-of-dollars search myself.
The Motherhood nursing tanks are causing clogs for me, too. I can get away with wearing them for a few hours for an errand or something, but then need to get them off. So sad.
Has anyone tried Samuel Adams Cream Stout?? I've never tried a stout. Not sure what the difference is. I need some education.
My craft brewing DH doesn't like my beer descriptions because he gets all technical about how they're brewed... Generally, stouts are much thicker, darker, heavier (in taste, not always alcohol content) with very rich flavors. They are my favorite beers! They are the type where you probably want just one or two. They're not great summer beers because they are pretty heavy. Delicious! My favorite is Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout.
@mellymar can probably give you more accurate tips but that's my non-expert but avid-drinker $0.02

I haven't had this specific beer, but I like stouts and cream stouts I consider to be good. Stouts are probably my favorite style of beer. They tend to have a coffee or chocolate flavor, and a cream stout may have a hint of oatmeal or vanilla. At the least it should have a nice mouth feel (the cream will make it smooth). Some people don't like stouts, and for some it's an acquired taste (it was for me). But if you like it, I can suggest other stouts that I find are super yummy
@mellymar I do like it! It's different. I am definitely hooked!
Try Founder's Breakfast Stout (coffee, oatmeal, hint of maple syrup flavors) and Left Hand Brewing's Nitro Milk Stout. Do not drink the Nitro version of this beer out of the bottle. *dump* it into a glass (it says 'pour hard' on the cap, it literally means open it and upend the bottle so all the beer comes gushing out and gets agitated. It activates the nitro). There is also a regular milk stout by Left Hand which is also good, but I think the Nitro version has a little sumpin' sumpin' to it.
Hey everyone ☺️ I'm a longtime lurker and this is my first post ever so a little nervous if I'm doing it right!? I'm four weeks postpartum to a handsome boy. Unfortunately I'm still bleeding red and sore as heck from a second degree tear, cervical abrasion, and a large baby. I keep reading that most are starting to feel better just two weeks out and I'm over here still easing into my chair and using that wonderful water bottle. I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance from others who are still dealing with all this. Also are there any other cloth diapering mommas on here? I've loved reading these threads throughout my pregnancy definitely made it all a little more enjoyable

TL;DR Dear Diary, nursing bras are hard
I'm using the Jessica Simpson nursing tanks and though I do get clogs, they seem to be only if I sleep in them.
Dear diary I'm 4 1/2 weeks postpartum now and just got put back on drugs to make me contract because there apparently IS leftover placenta (I had very dramatic delivery). I've been in pain for weeks and bleeding a ton since delivery and now with the drugs I literally feel like I'm in labor again except this time while holding a crying baby. I want to rip out my uterus. UGH. I pushed a human out of my body, shouldn't that be enough, universe!
@mjsommer it sounds like maybe you just had a rough delivery but my doctors got concerned that the bleeding had not stopped at the 3 week mark so I'm sure you're fine but I would call and get checked out just in case
Also @JessHeppell your girl-turned-boy story took my mind off the pain and annoyance for a minute - what an awesome story, congrats!! And looove the name
I am still bleeding at 4.5 weeks PP and still have a couple stitches. Am going to email my Dr today, after reading this, though my appointment is in 10 days. I am not in as much pain as you are, @mjsommer but my perineum started hurting again, and the blood is red. So frustrating.
I'm sorry you're having a harder recovery and hope you feel better really soon. Big creepy internet hugs!

I've been drinking the left hand nitro and it's deeeeelicious! Kinda like iced coffee beer.
I'm still bleeding 5+ weeks PP. It was brown and minimal and Is now back to red and enough that I need a pad and not a liner. Makes me wonder if it's my period but that would be really uncommon. My appointment is Monday.

I had my period 5 weeks post partum with DS1. Not fair. I hope its not for you, another few months off would be nice. Though its annoying now because I have to carry a pad everywhere just in case it happens to me again. 6 weeks out now.
My LO will be 3 weeks tomorrow. She's been constantly crying all this week. Nothing makes her better, ill try a bottle, she'll drink then spit it out along with formula and cry. I'll try shushing, rocking her, that works for a few minutes, then she will just randomly start screaming again. Doesn't want anything to do with the swing, bassinet, or diaper changes. Her paci she will suck on then spit out immediately. She's been like this since 7am. If I do get her to sleep, if I move to put her in her bassinet, she will start screaming. So she sleeps only about 15 minutes maybe. I'm at my wits end.
Thanks for the input ladies. I've been trying to reach my midwife for a couple days now but they have 72 hours to respond so might have to wait one more. Until then I shall continue to lounge I hope you all feel better and I really hope @dancegurl1118 it's not your period that would be so upsetting! @samantham0305 my friend taught my to bicycle my baby's legs when he was upset if it was possible tummy gas and it either helps him get it out or takes his mind off of why he was crying (sometimes!)
We've started doing the Eat/Wake/Sleep schedule a couple days ago, and I am in love! I feel like I finally have some control in my life again and I'm not my child's slave. Of course, it's never exact. We feed her early if she's hungry, let her sleep longer if she's tired, etc. But it's amazing. I highly suggest it to any super organized people out there (like myself).
