As much as I would love my fancy frozen adult beverage ASAP, I'm sure I'll end up waiting a while. Probably until LO is going 3-4 hours between nursing sessions. They say if you are sober enough to drive, you're sober enough to nurse. So I'll probably wait until we have a good bedtime routine established with a solid block of sleep, then indulge right after putting LO down and hopefully be fine to nurse at whatever time they wake up. Or I'll wait until I've been pumping a bit and have something to give them from a bottle.
Cold wheat beer: Alaskan Wheat!!! How does BF and drinking work though? I guess I thought I still had a while to go without drinking. Just curious!!!!
I've been told it's all about timing. You go by your blood alcohol level. So if you have one drink and wait a few hours for it to regulate itself you should be fine

Exactly. People tend to think once alcohol is in you it's in your milk forever and you have to pump and dump but that's not true. Alcohol leaves your breast milk at approximately the same rate it leaves your blood stream. So just like if you are DD for the night you may have one drink when you first go out, then drink water the rest of the night so you're able to drive home, you can do the same thing with breastfeeding. Of course the first few weeks LO will be nursing frequently so you may not be able to time it that well. But once you have some sort of routine established it's not too bad.
Omg i am getting so thirsty reading this post! The ice cold sangria sounds amazing. DH and I are cracking open a very expensive bottle of scotch he received for his bday to celebrate once baby girl makes her grand entrance.
Ive been dying to try Not Your Father's Root Beer. I love rootbeer and all my friends keep telling me how great it is. That, and a nice wine sound perfect

My husband had one last week and I just had to smell it (I'm weird I have to smell everything) and omg I can't wait to try one. ..it smelled amazing!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one thinking about this! At this point everything sounds good LOL but I have been craving a good margarita for a while now or a lemon drop martini
I'm not a big drinker so my first after baby beverage would be Starbucks anything w/ a double espresso. However I plan on BF so I won't even be able to have that (
@noobmama83 We love rombauer! That'll be delicious!
My dad usually shows up to the hospital with a bomber of some delicious local microbrewery for he, DH and I to share. Likely a sour from Avery or the Dutchess, those are my favorite!
Hoping we'll go tour the wineries in North Georgia again; with DS we went when he was 2 weeks old! Oops! But family was in town so we had to show off the fun stuff.
I love Rombauer too! But I also have some ice wines from our honeymoon trip to Niagara Falls that we didn't get to drink being that I got pregnant as soon as we got back.
A tall glass of Rosé ... and ummm.. I haven't smoked in years but, this pregnancy, I've been craving one like crazy. So I'm going to have one. Outside of course.
a pina colada. I did buy some canned pineapple and coconut water and am going to attempt to make a virgin smoothie version...so maybe that will satisfy the craving. if it does, then the mango beer that my husband's client gave him for me fruity beer in the summer is my favorite!

(I used to have a super high tollerance for alcohol, but I doubt I do anymore!)

I can't wait for a strong Moscow mule!
