I just had my first ultra sound, and it's too early for a heartbeat yet, but the ultrasound showed what looked to be three different potential babies!!! I am so scared and excited at once! We have a 19 month old daughter, and I couldn't imagine adding three more to our family at once! My doctor said we need to do a repeat ultrasound in a couple of weeks, but the time between now and then I'm sure that's all I will be able to think of... Plus we leave for vacation for 2.5 weeks Thursday.... Vacation to go home- we live in Wisconsin while our entire families live in Florida. We are going to tell our families when we are home bc we want to share the excitement in person this time around- which will be our last if three babies join our family! Sorry for the long rant! Just had to get it out since no one else even knows we are pregnant!
Re: Triplets?!?! Excited and scared!
I also have a 19 month daughter, such a fun age!

I am curious to know why the doc told you triplets? At 5 weeks all you can see are empty holes and some could be blood clots. Did he see fetal poles in all three or heartbeats? Are you going to tell your family you're expecting triplets or just that you're pregnant? I saw this gender reveal party where everyone thought they were having twins and they opened up one box that had blue balloons and a second that had blue balloons. Then they brought a third box from around the corner that had pink balloons and said triplets (or something to that effect.)
As an IF lady, I don't find it being rude. The term spontaneous is, however, the proper verbiage vs natural. Around 85%-90% of triplets are conceived via use of fertility medications. Most folks are going to assume, correctly or not, that fertility medication played a part in the conception of triplets and if she is indeed KU with 3, it won't be the last time she's asked.
